1st backyard campout

daddy decided to campout with the girls one night. they had talked about it and he doesn't like to break promises :) we went to target and picked out a tent and had a good ole time getting everything together. it was a warm night, but they stayed out there all night! i think this was in august. the girls had a blast and talk about wanting to campout again a lot!

the mosquitoes were out in full force when the sun went down so i told them to put on long sleeve pj's - i am sure they stayed toasty warm through the night!

i got to read some books to them with a flashlight which was so fun to them...and me :)

finally asleep....at around 10 i think - daddy stayed out there with them all night while i stayed inside with julia. the girls slept pretty good i think, but daddy is the one that didn't get much sleep. he ended up lying between them and they wanted to be close and cuddle and he said every time one of them moved, their hair would just get stuck and fly across his face (since he was a little scruffy faced) - it was pretty comical listening to him tell me the stories of the night from his perspective - such a good daddy :)

they were up early, of course, so by 8 am they had already been out to breakfast and back and to the playground, all in their pj's!! what a good daddy :)

"cheese"

so here is the story on "cheese." the girls got a sponge bob ~~dumb~~ trinket toy from a mcdonald's happy meal one day. i can't even remember how the conversation started one day, but as I was talking to aunt christy one day, she asked them who that was and anna kate called him "cheese." it started this inside joke thing where anytime the girls saw "cheese" out in public, we would take our picture with him and send a picture to aunt christy and kaylee and jackson. they even sent us a picture of them in florida with cheese!

it got to the point where they could spot "cheese" an aisle away and then anna kate would say "cheese!! cheese! take my picture with him!" it was pretty funny. i have to say i am quite proud that my girls don't know who sponge bob is and they just think he is "cheese" (or sometimes "cheesy"). it makes me proud too when they can't name all the princesses names when someone asks them.

cheekwood treehouses

we went to see the display of treehouses at cheekwood after church one sunday with the cousins. i can't remember the last time i went to cheekwood, maybe in elementary school? i don't know. i just know a lot of people talk about it, but i never go!! so it was fun to go and the girls enjoyed exploring through all of the neat and different treehouse designs.

the fair

we had fun in the heat at the williamson county fair. we have been the past several years and it is always a fun time. the girls enjoyed the rides more this year!
