special daddy time :)

Here are just a few pictures that I get from Justin while he is on an outing with the girls. I never know what picture or video I may receive, but I love that he keeps me updated on their fun "dates" together.....it usually involves fish, bass pro, food, or basically anything outdoors. :) I have gotten funny videos eating from the Loveless Cafe to Waffle House (a now favorite with the girls...ha!) I told Justin I had not walked into a Waffle House probably since high school! The girls did persuade me for all of us to go one night, but usually it is a "daddy thing" and they go when mommy isn't around. :) They can now spot a Waffle House a mile away. :)

He is such an incredible daddy. I love how he is so willing to take the girls anywhere and take them on fun new adventures to give me some time. :) I admire his positive attitude and the way he loves his girls and takes them on special trips. They love daddy time! They know they get gum and m&m's and who knows what that mommy doesn't usually approve of. :)
He is the best daddy and we are so thankful for him!!

This is from when he took them out to the farm in Leiper's Fork we go to quite often to fish.
caroline holding up the fish she reeled in and caught all by herself! daddy was so proud :) i am too! those fish can be hard to hold sometimes :)

As I was driving home one night, this is who I met on the road....(the girls look about the same size in this one :) - i get "twins?" all the time....
lots of bass pro trips....

walking, climbing trees, picking leaves, finding acorns, going across small bridges, tails, and grass skirts....hard to beat :)

caroline standing in the sunlight at some playground

the pictures are a little fuzzy and dark but it was one of those picture/videos that made mommy a little nervous when I watched it. :) here is anna kate climbing up the monkey bar thing

and caroline making it to the top

this was from one weekend we spent at the lake this summer. daddy and caroline got up early to go fishin down at some creek. she looks like a true "daddy's girl" here i think :) hilarious

here is a video of caroline reeling in her own fish.... :)

and here is my little monkey climbing to the top with daddy

this video made me laugh when they were out one day. they came home with what looked like grass skirts made of a long branch with leaves wrapped around their little waists. i guess they ran around with "tails" as well.. ha!

sittin on the ledge of the dam...

I just like this picture. Justin took it on his phone when we were up at the lake one weekend. We drove across the dam and the girls got out to see the water at the bottom. Then we drove down to where the canoes get dropped off and felt how freezing cold the water was near the dam and threw some rocks of course. Then we got lucky and found a playground to play on for awhile. Nothing better than some fun family time :)

the zoo

We took our annual zoo trip with the cousins back in August. Kaylee and Jackson were at the beach so they didn't make it this time. Luckily the afternoon we went, it was overcast and not too hot. The girls get more into each year and it was fun watching them see all the different animals. Will was our map/tour guide so he directed us on the path we should take to see which animals. :) We had a great time!

tshirts and rain boots

One summer day it rained and I am sure it was a day we had been cooped up in the house all day, so when they got up from their naps, we let them go free in the rain. They thought it was the best thing ever. Nothing is better than jumping in puddles with rain boots to a 2 and 3 year old. :) Didn't bother putting pants on them, just stuck the rain boots on and away they went. Caroline ran out in it right away. Anna Kate on the otherhand was not so sure at first. They had a blast and we had a blast watching them giggle, laugh, and make big jumps in puddles. Oh the little things that light up a child's life. It doesn't take much :)

Caroline trying to convince and drag her lil sis into the rain, telling her how much fun it was.

They both decided to try and cover their heads I guess :)

She made it....

Didn't take her long to realize how fun it was to jump in puddles

big splash!

big jump

This is fun momma! "I wet mommy I wet!"

busy summer

The summer has flown by, yet again. It was a hot summer so a lot of days were just too hot to play outside. This year, our playgroup had new additions and everyone had busy schedules. Unlike our weekly playdate last year, we only ended up getting together a handful of times to play. We always enjoy when our friends come over and the kids (well mainly the 3 boys that day) had a blast in the pool that Brody brought over to share. We love playing in the yard and picnicing with our friends in the grass. The kiddos are getting so big!

Here is Mitchell or Parker (they look so much alike these days I can hardly tell them apart) diving down the little slide with the other one to follow.
Parker and Anna Kate, trying to figure out what to do next. Mason and Brody playing in the sandbox.

Sisterly teamwork....if it were only always that way :)

Anna Kate lovin the hose

Mason swingin away with a smile

And Brody diving his way down the slide..

It is so funny how different boys and girls are :) We love our friends! Hopefully we can do it more next year!
