12 Inches!!!

It snowed so much yesterday that they cancelled school today. Now, most of my friends who were born and raised in Seattle may think that it is not that big of a deal when school gets cancelled, but here in Spokane the last time they cancelled snow was November of 1996. WOW, that's a long time! Man, I've really learned that these Spokanites are real troopers! Just goes to show how dissapointed I was the first year I lived here and realized that I couldn't "call in sick" to work just because it snowed an inch.

Anyway, between Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening it snowed about 12 inches here. I didn't go anywhere during that time period. The snow was up to the bottom of the car, so my hero Shawn had to come over and get my car out. I was literally stuck in a hole and about one inch away from high-centering. It took him a good 10 rocks back and forth, but he finally got me out. I don't know what I would have done without him! Except maybe I would have been able to "call in sick" to work...

Here's a photo of the plow pile outside of Shawn's house. Check out how deep that is!!!

Karaoke

This last Friday night, Laura, a friend of mine was having a "girl's night" karaoke party. I went, was a little nervous, but I had a great time. Here I am singing N*Sync's "Bye, Bye, Bye". I pretty much rocked it out, and my friend Deann even knew the dance, so we were a great team.

My really good friends Leslie and Andrea sang some awesome 80's balades, here is a photo of them doing just that. It was a HOOT! Also, here's a picture of Andrea and I posing amidst all the singing. Aren't we cute??

My friend Laura's basement is totally cool, one of the best accessories is this purple chair shaped like a hand. I just love that thing and monoploized it the entire night. I don't really know what I'm doing in this photo, I think I'm pretending to be stuck. Who knows...

Tubing with the Pritchards

Shawn, Ellie and I went tubing at Mt Spokane for another time, this time we brought my sister Julie and her family. (husband Cory, daughter Reyan (7), son Hayden (5) It was so much fun, and her kids were so daring! They took turns riding with the adults, then they decided that it would be much more fun on their own tube. They were fearless and had a great time.
When Hayden would go down the hill, he would put his arms way out to the side like a bird and flap his hands "to go faster". It was so cute. Here's a photo I caught of him doing just that. It rained up there that day, so the hill wasn't very fast, but we still had a great time.
And to the right is a picture of me just hamming it up with my tube. I have definitely learned to appreciate the four seasons that we have here in Spokane, there is always a variety of activities to keep us busy.

More snow??

I swear, every morning I wake up to about 3 or 4 inches of new snow. Today was no different, here's a picture of my car first thing in the morning. It's been this way for about three weeks now and I keep wondering when it's going to be over! It's not that I don't love the snow - it's definitely pretty - but it's just kind of a hassle to deal with.
Here's a look from my bedroom window outside at the latest falling of snow.
