Sketch #3 Challenge

This challenge we didn't have many entries but we did have a tie for first place.  #1 Lynne and #3 Debi B have tied for first place and are eligible for our Cards in Envy Winner's Button.  Please pick up your Winner's Button code on the Winners Tab above.

Believe it or not, everyone else was tied up so we are inviting all the rest of the entries for this challenge to grab the Cards in Envy Top 3 button from the tab above and proudly display it on your blog.

Thank you all for joining us for this challenge.  Congratulations to everyone!!!

Hello Everyone!  Happy April 1st!  We at Cards in Envy hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend.  For our challenge this fortnight we have the Cards in Envy Sketch #3:

 Seriously?  Nah.... April Fools!!!!

Our "REAL" Sketch this fortnight is just a tad bit less cluttered ...

Please feel free to interpret the sketch any way you wish as along as we can see the original sketch in your finished card.   Please remember, Cards in Envy is for cards that fit into a regular first class postage envelope.  The most common size being the A2 (5.5 inch x 4.25 inch) OR a square card ( 5 inch x 5 inch or SMALLER).  And please remember no lumpy bumpy embellishments.  A good rule of thumb is--only one layer on foam tape, no buttons on foam tape, flatter flowers (paper flowers are good), no rosettes, no super thick buttons or brads, etc.  If all layers and embellishments together are thicker than 1/4 inch then it's not a card for Cards in Envy.

The challenge starts today, Monday, April 1st and runs until April 14th.  We will pick one winner (the best over all) and the Top Three.  Winner and Top Three will earn a Cards in Envy Badge for their blog.

And now for the Cards in Envy Design Team Inspiration Cards ...

Welcome to our March 18 Themed Challenge!  This time we'd like to see cards you make using  Paper Strips instead of ribbon!  You could use several paper strips to create a design, you could make your  paper strips look like ribbon, you could even make a bow out of paper strips.  Or you could cut your paper strips into scallops or lace or....well, you get the idea.  We'd like to see your creative ways of using Paper Strips to replace ribbon!

Remember,  Cards in Envy is for cards that fit into a regular first class postage envelope.

The challenge starts today, Monday, March 18th and runs until  March 31st.  We will pick one winner (the best over all) and the Top Three.  Winner and Top Three will earn a Cards in Envy Badge for their blog.

Are you ready?  Let's see what our Design Team has created using Paper Strips!

March 4th Sketch #2 Challenge

Sorry for the delay ... I've been dealing with a cranky computer.
The winner of our March 4th Sketch #2 challenge is:
It's a tie between #8 Jan Tatomir and #10 Three Trees!!
Congratulations!  Both of you, please go to the winners tab and pick up your Cards in Envy Winner's Button!

The Top Three  are (in no particular order):
  #1 Kristie M
#11 Ellen Parker
#13 Patricia Hays
Congratulations! Please pick up your "Top 3" Button and display it proudly on your blogs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this challenge.  It was a difficult decision, as all the entries were fabulous!  We look forward to seeing you all in our Paper Strips Instead of Ribbon Challenge.

Welcome to our 2nd Sketch Challenge.  For this challenge we'll be using Cards in Envy Sketch #2. I have made a basic "no frills" sketch so everyone feels comfortable playing along.  Please feel free to interpret the sketch in any way you wish as long as we can still see the basics of the sketch in your finished design.

You are free to use any products as long as your card fits in an envelope for regular first class postage (no extra stamps allowed for mailing on these cards--if extra postage or special packaging is required it's not a Card in Envy card).  We have been asked if a 5x5 card is eligible and the answer is yes.  A 5x5 will fit into a regular 5x7 greeting card envelope.  It is unfortunate though that 6x6 cards are not eligible due to their size, which requires additional postage.

So without further delay, I'd like to share with you all the beautiful inspiration cards created by our Design Team:
