Happy New Year ...

Sorry I've no card to share with you today.
I've been spending my holiday trying to decorate my hall, stairs and landing. There's so much preparation that I'm fed up with it already and I've not even finished the first of three flours!

I have cheered myself up today though by spending some of my Christmas money on some more Copics!

We had a lovely break over Christmas and spent a few days with my sister and her family, Mum and Dad also joined us. It's always nice to have everyone together as it usually only happens at Christmas. Since coming back it's been lots of decorating, yuk!

Hope that you had a lovely Christmas and Santa brought you all the crafting goodies on your list.

We're having a quiet night in tonight..
I hope that you have a lovely evening, whether it's a quiet night in or an all night party.
I'd like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year and thank you for all your support and lovely comments throughout the year.

Sending you Big Hugs,

Janine xx

Fairy Talva and A Very Merry Christmas to you all ..

Good morning blogger friends...

I just wanted to show you another Christmas card before the Christmas festivities begin.

But first I would just like to thank you all very much for following my blog, supporting me with your lovely comments and helpful hints and tips.

My card uses a super cute Mo Manning image called Winter Fairy Talva and the design papers are Raspberry Road's Christmas Thyme.

I really enjoyed colouring her, she's just so sweet. I've also coloured her in pinks, but haven't made her into a card yet. She's coloured with copics.

Copics Used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R30
Turquoise: BG11, BG10, BG70
Wings, BV000, V000, BG10, BG70, C1, C0, C00
Hair: E34, E53, E51, E50
Chalks for the background

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I copied Jenny's great idea of making a little scroll. I thought this was such a sweet idea. I think it's also been used on pirate cards before too.

The snowball and wings have been given a bit of sparkle using some glamour dust.

Here's a little compilation...

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Mo Manning Challenge - Your favourite Mo creation
Joanna Sheen - With Love at Christmas

Wishing you all
A Very Merry Christmas
and
A Prosperous New Year.

LOTV Festive Fairy...

Good morning everyone. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Took Frazer to Sheffield Institute of Sport yesterday for a day of Volleyball training and whilst I was there I popped in to Meadowhall shopping Centre for a spot of Christmas shopping. Just a few more bits and bobs to get and then I'm there!

Another Christmas card to show you today. This one's a cute LOTV image - Festive Fairy. I've been wanting to buy here for ages and I'm so glad I did. This is her first inking and it will definitely not be her last!

The image was one of my first attempts at colouring with distress inks and I'm quitte pleased with the results. I must admit I've gone back to my copics for the moment, but I shall give DIs another go. Practice makes perfect, so they say.

Here's a close up of her. She's just such a cute image!

Distress inks I've used:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo,& Aged Mahogany
Clothes: Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany & Old Paper
Wings: Tattered Rose
Leaves: Peeled Paint & Forest Moss
Berries: Barn Door
Ribbon: Fired Brick
Snow: Weathered Wood
Outline: Tumbled Glass

I've used the lovely seem binding I got from Live & Love Crafts to finish off the tag and decorated the tree with some rhinestones and snowtex. I've never used that before, it's weired stuff, but very effective. I think I'm going to need to buy some more of those lovely Chrysanthemums from Live and Love Crafts because I can't stop adding them to my cards.

Tools Used:
Go Kreste Concentric Tags #1
Memory Box Holly Vine
Marianne Creatables Tree LR0136

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Lilis Little Fairies - Something New (Ribbon, Snowtex & LR0136 die)
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Label/Tag big or small
Anything Goes Challenge #82 - Traditional Christmas Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge - So this is Christmas
Allsorts Challenge week 185 - Oh Christmas Tree

Thanks so much for dropping by and the lovely comments you leave.

Off to 'Santa Sunday Lunch' soon. Hope to pop round and visit you when I get back.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Big Hugs,
Janine x

P.S. If anyone can tell me how to get those lovely signatures with the flowers and butterflies that I keep seeing I'd love to make one - Mine's just plain boring!  Thanks x

Friday, 14 December 2012

Good evening, it's Friday and I can't believe another week has flown by. I'm still no where near ready for Christmas, but I'm sure it'll all come together in the end.

I'm here to show you another Christmas card I've made. This is my first Wild Rose Studio stamp and it's called Feeding Robins.

I've chosen traditional reds and greens and the papers are Wild Rose too. They're from Anabelle's Christmas pad. The layout is inspired by Sketch n Stash #102 sketch by Sue.

The image has been coloured by copics and her are the colours :-

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R30
Reds: R32, R35, R37, R39, R59 and tuscan red Prismacolour
Greens: YG00, YG61, YG63, YG67
Browns: E40, E42, E43, E44, E50, E51, E53 and Dark umber pencil

The inside has been coordinated to match. All the papers have been distressed and inked with walnut stain. The tips of the flowers were also coloured up with a bit of victorian velvet so they weren't so stark.
The snowflake is  Marianne Creatable die No LR0185 and I've added a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything Goes (Christmas)
Copic Marker Europe - A Christmas Card
Anything Goes Challenge #82 - Traditional Christmas Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge #40 - So this is Christmas

Thanks so much for dropping by, hope you have a lovely weekend.

Big Hugs,
Janine xx

Trimming The Tree ...

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a nice relaxing weekend.

I'm here to show you my first Christmas card. It's taken me ages to complete. I wish I wasn't so indecisive. Choosing the papers, embellishments etc has taken forever. There's no way I'm gonna have enough cards by Christmas. I'll just have to save homemade ones for 'special' people.  Looks like it's a trip to WHS for me!

I've used LOTV's Trimming the Tree along with papers from Authentique Paper's Wonder Collection.

They're so cute. They remind me of my three when they were younger.
Here are the Copic colours I've used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R30
Red Clothes: R39, R37, R35, R32
Green Clothes: YG91, YG93, YG95
Brown Shorts: E43, E42, E41, E40
Dog: E43, E42, E34, E35

I've embellished the card with a ribbon from my stash and a cute tree charm from Live & Love Cratfs. The flowers are from WOC and Live and Love Crafts.

The image has been cut with a Nestabilities circle die and mounted on their scalloped circle. The holly leaves are part of Memory boxes Holly Vine.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Lilis Little Fairies - Use 3 Dies or Punches
Crafts 4 Eternity - #101 Colour Recipe, Christmas Wishes
PaperPlay Challenges - Week 49 Christmas is coming

Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

Big Hugs,

Saturated Canary - Honey

Hi blogging friends. Well it's almost midweek and I really just don't know where the time is going at the moment.

Hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to get lots of crafting done. Unfortunately I didn't manage any. Saturday was all chores and Sunday I was with Brandon at a swimming gala.

Yesterday Leonie and I went out and bought a new Christmas tree. We decided that the old one had to be replaced because  Brandon is now taller than it. We went for an 8ft one, that way no matter how much more growing he does he'll never be bigger than this one! Were hoping to decorate it tomorrow once hubby has put the lights on it.

My card today uses one of Krista's amazing digis called Honey. It's for a friend's daughter's birthday. It should suit her down to the ground, because she loves dance but she's also a bit of a Tomboy too.

I've followed the sketch over at Saturated Canary Challenge and coloured the image with Copics. It's lovely to watch these images come to life as you colour them, even if they do test your shading techniques.

The image has been mounted on  a nestabilities floral oval shape, these are just so pretty, and the design papers are by Raspberry Road. Some of the flowers are a recent buy from Live & Love Crafts and they're so pretty. I've coordinated the inside to match too.

Copics Used.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R30
Hair: E50, E51, E53, E35, E43, E44
Skirt: R81, R83, R85, R20, E41, E42
Top: YR0000, YR00, YR02, YR12
Rabbit: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, R01, R000
Boots: C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, W0, W5, W7

Papers: Raspberry Road TATAS Collection
Flowers: WOC and Live & Love Crafts

Nestabilities; Floral Oval
Cheery Lynn: Lace Corners
EK Success: Small Butterfly Punch

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Lady Anne's Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes
Digi Galore - Anything Goes
Joanna Sheen - Anything goes Excluding Christmas

Thank you so much for dropping by. Hope to see you again soon.
