A Snowman Kind of Day

I had a fabulous crafy day with my friend yesterday! I made a whole bunch of Christmas cards and towards the end of the day I realized that a snowman theme was going on! This trio of skating snowman (Jolee's) makes me laugh! Such a cute snow family they are! Paper is old. Did some hand stitched lines and added some very glittery Martha Stewart snowflakes.

This card has a rusty metal snowman ornament I bought years ago. I attached it with a lovely wide satin ribbon bow. Anna Griffin always has the most lovely ribbons! The papers are Fancy Pants, new this season.

This sweet snowman is actually a miniature ornament I bought at Michael's. I just knew he would look fabulous on a card! The papers are old, can't remember off hand who the manufacturer is. That lovely snowflake in the upper left hand corner is a Jolee's sticker...very sparkley!

My last card for you...this snowman is a K & Company sticker. I love the vintage look of him and thought he would look perfect with some old sheet music. I had some Beethoven...does that mix? Oh well! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my snowman card display! Now go craft up a few snow people for yourself! These cards will go on sale in my Etsy shop if anyone is interested. That address is http://www.cardblanc.etsy.com/.

Crazy for Snowmen

Over the past couple of years I've seen some rather cute Styrofoam snowmen posted on Two Peas in a bucket and I finally got around to trying one out. It was so much fun and I love the way those Styrofoam balls look like snow that I had to make a few more. Here's the snow gang.

Christmas Ornaments

It's that time again, time to start making my annual Christmas ornaments for friends and family. Making ornaments is one of my favorite holiday activities that I started doing years ago, a tradition I adopted from a friend.

One year I made mini wrapped Christmas present ornaments and made the mistake of not telling everyone not to open them! I had to make a lot of those over again! Another year I made ornaments from cookie cutters and scrapbook paper, a fun idea I found in a Martha Stewart magazine. I believe the first year I started making ornaments, I made miniature wreaths all decorated just like the larger versions. Last year's ornament was a wire and beaded icicle. One of my all time favorites was a miniature wreath made with the smallest 4mm jingle bells.

So, what will it be this year? I started playing around with a paper type ornament made with old sheet music and stitched holly leaves. I like how it turned out, but to make a lot of these might be a little time consuming. And besides, I can't post a photo of the ornament I go with this year since it would ruin the surprise! So, maybe this ornament will be something you want to make for your friends and family, or just for your tree. If you have any questions on how to make one like this, just send me a comment. Thanks for visiting.
