Busy day at work today, first day of drawing class and PT... got to class a little early and drew my Eugene the Jeep doll that was sitting in my Jeep for a change instead of riding in the tire of our Yellow Jeep.

Didn't win the bead... but the artist got a really good price for it. It was fun trying to draw it... and using my new masking fluid. Team won another game tonight... one more and they're the division champions.

These pages have been fun. Violet was a little difficult... until I spied this tiny wildflower... It was fun trying to mix the dark purple for the center and just the right pale violet for the rest of the petals... but I think I got it pretty close.

April 27
Lazy day today, finally got the velcro to finish my carrying case/portfolio for my drawing boards and pads of paper. My drawing class starts this Wednesday... I'm really looking forward to it. Got my easel loaded into the car, with my tackle box full of conte crayons, pencils, and other tools... and my drawing board and big pads of paper in their new carrier.
Hockey tonight... Stingrays vs Inferno... should be a good game.
April26 Air Show at the Air Force Base
Palmetto Jeep Club members got together for breakfast and spent the day at the air show. John's girl's Mary and Lydia had a blast drawing and painting in my practice sketch book and their Mom said she was going to get them sketch books to carry with her from now on... which I think is a fabulous idea :D

April 25
Today... it's Green, not one of my favorite colors, and even though I'm surrounded by grass and trees.. it was hard to decide what to draw. Tomorrow the Air Show... lots of blue sky and blue uniforms to draw .... We watched the 'Thunderbirds' practice a little today at work as they were buzzing over our heads and making quite a racket. What fun it must be for those young men flying those planes... it's a thrill just watching them,

April 24
Went to Mt. Pleasant for an MRI in the new Open MRI machine... isn't as 'open' as a CT scanner... but WAY better than a regular MRI... good grief I'm an expert on medical imaging machines now... ARGH!!
After painting this page, went shopping and bought a yellow purse and a yellow hat... LOL... power of suggestion I suppose.
April 22/23
Didn't someone suggest colors? The colors of the Rainbow...Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet... what color is Indigo anyway?

Going to watch a DVD on WC painting tonight... watch out I might learn what I'm doing LOL

April 9/10 UFWDA Wheel-In
Spent 1 day traveling to Amherst Va, just north of Lynchberg, Va and 1 day visiting this fabulous Cabin and the man who built it... even to chopping down the trees and plaining the boards in his own little saw mill... oh and he is a smitty and he hand crafted all the door hardware too. No indoor plumbing... but there is running Spring fed water... this man was one of the most interesting people I've ever met.

Went to the local park with the dogs today... Ron took the dogs and I sat on the bench to draw the Palmettos.. the bugs decended on me as soon as I sat down.. little biting devils... but I got a good long look at these young trees... and tried to capture them as quickly as I could.... Oh... and that should say Trees... not Tress... oh well LOL

WC Scanvenger Hunt #7 something with a hole... my copper riveted ring my daughter Jeanna made for me while we were at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts last year. We're planning to go again this year in September, she's taking another siliversmithing class and I'll take glass fusing.
My thoughts on Drs... good ones have polite helpful office staff... bad Drs have staff that are rude and annoying... so run if the office folks are rude... the Dr won't be worth seeing... trust me in this. I've seen a LOT of Dr's this past year some very, very good and some HORRID...

WC Scanvenger Hunt #6 Squirrel ears. They are PINK - doesn't show up on the scan... but pink they are. Art wise it has been a pretty cool couple of days... my Niji water brushes from Dick Blick came... and my water colors and palette came from Cheap Joes... So now I've got all this STUFF and I've haven't got a clue what to do with it... Sure hope this Tony Hasselt fellow has a lot of patience with someone so GREEN. Helpful books or websites anyone?
