Catching Up

It has been over a year since my last post, which I know is just terrible. However, I'm hoping that I'll be able to pick it up and keep it up this time. Carlos and I have been busy with little Whitney. For only three months old, she sure knows how to keep us hopping! Last week she rolled over for the first time! She did it once to show me she could do it and then one more time for the video camera. I can't believe the milestones that babies are able to achieve in such a short amount of time.

Carlos is going to school during the summer. I can't wait for him to be done. Unfortunately that won't be for awhile. But one day at school is one more day done and counted for.

As for me, I'm now doing what I love best. Taking care of Whitney is the best thing in the world! Her little coos and toothless smiles make it all worth it. She is growing up fast and I'm glad I'm a part of it and not missing a thing.

My Progress

My cake decorating class has been done for a few weeks now but I just now got time to post some of the pics of the cakes I learned how to do in the class. I love my new hobby and plan to pursue it more. I already have one of my co-workers wanting me to decorate her daughters birthday cake in July. So I will have to practice so it will look good. Anyway here are the cakes that I learned how to do over the month of March.

This was one of the last cakes I made for the class. This also looks like it took some time to do but it was really easy. It probably would have looked better had I took more time to do it but I was pressed for time because the class was ending and I had to go home but I'm still impressed with how it turned out.

This was the first cake I was required to do. The cake was crumbling as I was frosting it so it's all speckled but it turned out great. It looks like it took time to make but honestly that only took maybe 15 minutes do the flowers and part of that time was trying to decide on the way I wanted to do the flowers.
This is my first cake I made just for fun. It wasn't one we were required to do I just thought I would break in my new tools I bought for cake decorating.

CakE DeCoRatiNg

In case you haven't heard I'm going to be taking a cake decorating class. I'll be starting with a beginning class that goes all month long. Then from there I can further it and take a more advanced class. Now I'm not saying that I will do nearly as good as Duff from "Ace of Cakes" but I do think that I will love being able to make little creations every now and then. Maybe with a little practice I could do some really cool stuff with my talent.

FaMiLY!!!!

So my brother Duane and his wife Liz just had their fourth child. Little Evan Duane Foote was born just a few days ago. I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a big family. I love being able to tell people that I have 10 brothers and sisters and now I have 22 nieces and nephews (That's including Carlos' niece and nephew). My family is one of the best things in the world and I love them very much.

Scraps-in-a-box!!!

The other day Carlos and I were enjoying a nice day together and relaxing. We were watching some T.V. when we noticed Scraps, our cute little bunny, had found a box to play in. Carlos thought of capturing it on his phone. I hope you guys enjoy this clip as much as we did. Have fun!!

Good Times and Christmas 2008

To end opening all our presents there was a packing peanut war and I think my mom lost. It was so much fun cleaning up afterwards. I bet my mom is still finding packing peanuts under the couch cushions. It was a good time.

For Christmas we had a full house. This picture is just a small glimpse of how many people there were. We had most of my brothers and sisters and all their kids. It was fun seeing all the kids together. Santa came and visited the house on Christmas Eve which the kids all enjoyed. Christmas Day was crazy but fun nonetheless. It is one that I will never forget.

One of the best parts of the ceremony was that my grandpa was able to give Douglas his first salute as an officer. Grandpa was also able to that for Duane when he first commissioned a few years ago.

After being sworn in, my really cool sister-in-law Katie was able to pin my brother with his new rank. That's pretty cool stuff. She was nice enough not to poke too deep!

So my brother Douglas commissioned as an officer for the Army and my brother Duane and his family flew all the way from Japan so they could be apart of it. Duane was able to swear Douglas in as an officer which we all thought was pretty cool stuff.

The Big Graduation Day!

Wow! Look how good he looks! I think that look fits Carlos very well. He is an amazing soldier. The short time I was with him he really showed to me that he took this to heart and grew a lot from his BCT experience. He has changed but it is a good change. It was great to see him.
This is Drill Sgt. Mercado and Drill Sgt. Rodriguez. They look so serious but really they just like to goof around. Carlos made them laugh a lot, all the time.

That is Hallapuah, Carlos' Battle Buddy. He's a pretty cool guy. He actually went down to Texas with Carlos to become a medic as well. They are planning to stay pretty close.
