Long Lost Teacher

WOW! I can't believe how long it has been since I have written with any new information. We have had many things happening in our classroom. Check out the "Meet the Students" section of our website and you will see pictures of most of them. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. We had students go to Disneyland, lots of electronics were given and we even had someone become a big brother over the break:) We are in the middle of our Winter MAP testing and the students are doing great. I am so proud of them. We are in the planning stages for our spring field trip. If anyone knows of a great place to go please let me know. Have a great day!

Progress Reports

Progress Reports came out Monday and I have had many parents want to meet with me. I am always happy to talk to you about your child. I do not answer my phone or check e-mails during the day but I will do my best to return your calls/e-mails as soon as possible. I am so proud of your children and hope that we can work together to make 2nd grade a learning as well as a fun experience.

"Me Collage"

Today was Constitution Day! Ask your kids what they learned and the year the Constitution was written. We made flags with 13 stars and the best part was if they got their flag done they didn't have any math homework. It's amazing what a little bribery can do - no one has math homework tonight! I truly love my kids. In the Monday Mailer there was an instruction sheet and rubric for an upcoming assignment. The kids are each required to make a poster all about themselves. They can include pictures, photos or drawings, of their family and friends and things that they like. They can use any size of poster board that they feel is necessary - within reason:) Remember - the posters are due on Monday, September 22nd. I am excited to learn more about them and will take lots of pictures to post on our website. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

We survived the first week!

Our first week of school was great! I enjoy every minute I get to spend with the kids and learn more about them every day. We did a great job learning the procedures and rules of the class. We even had a little fun along the way. This Monday our MAP tests begin. We will be testing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30. Please make sure your child gets a good nights rest and has a good breakfast. I'm ready and excited for our second week. :)

I can hardly wait to see you on Tuesday morning, and I know I won't get any sleep on Monday night. Watch for me at our classroom door ready to welcome you to "Camp Learn-a-Lot."
