A Preview of smooch.com.sg

Hello Everyone!

I've been seated at my study table since Friday 11am, and except for a short Sogurt break on Friday Night with P,
I haven't left my seat to do anything but re-sizing and photoshop-ing our logos on, I had it all done by 8pm yesterday only to be told I had the dimensions wrong and I had to re-resize it :(  *wince*

There are a few people I'll like to thank:
Sean Lee, seanthephotographer.com
Pris our fabulous fabulous model
Simin&Yingdan& SK for their studio + photoshop
Bryan & Jean who took time for the earlier photoshoots but now they're so swamped by their clients, they have no time to send me more group shots, all the best to them and I really appreciate all that they've done!
the lovely Poh cheerleaders :)

The webby is starting to take shape and I'll share some Printscreens hehe, the mailing list will be informed by tonight of tomorrow's (Mon 14th March) Launch at 8PM :)

Our main webpage will look like this:

Love the scrolling function of the main frame where I can post collages and updates :)

The fastest way to shop would be of course clicking on "Shop new" where everything "New" for the week will be laid out in one page, very much like " Hervelvetvase" with the "add to cart" button beneath every item
Sad thing is :there are only 2 thumbnails per look on " Shop New"

or you may go straight to " What's Available" and Click on " View All' at the bottom right
and see what's available to shop, as this is our first launch, it will consist of purely items launched this week, in future, it will have more items from the previous launches

The Bridesmaids dresses will be sold as well, we have sold out Raspberry Pink!

So that will be placed on Backorder..
As I'm uploading the photos, I'm beginning to feel really excited about it :)

The thumbnails have dual photos, meaning when you mouse-over, another pic shows :)

and last but not least, I'm very proud of a Gallery which we have incorporated
for Smooch and one for Bridesmaids Mayflower Dresses

A viewing gallery is the icing on the cake :)  can totally reminisce items we've sold in the past
( This will be my next project where I'll re-take all 50 designs again)

Future bride-to-be s, you can definitely share pictures with us and we'll post it on our bridesmaids Gallery!

This gallery works on the iphone as well!! whoo hoo :)

Remember to "Sign Up"first tomorrow,
the new system will be auto-invoicing via email so if you opt for internet banking, remember to email us payment details within 24 hrs..
credit card payment via Paypal will be available as well
( you don't need a Paypal account for this and Paypal accepts major Visa + Mastercard)
Kindly note, our paypal + bank account details have changed, so pay extra attention k? thank you!

*Free reg mail for orders above $120*
( this promo N.A for Mayflower Dresses)

AM Mail for items weighing less than 300g
( usually the weight of just 1 dress) will be offered.

My recent vintage purchase :X

An  Hermes Paprika Watch

Read more abt this design here :)
http://www.swisstime.ch/pgs/rwi-pgs-prod-lgs-en-idp-735.html
(n no, i did not blow a 5figure fortune over it, just slightly less than $1.2K )
thought it'll be nice to have a manly looking watch with an H, this is a really old design, possibly 10 years old so its an oldie but a goodie to me!

today's new muse:
http://sarahnmery.tumblr.com/
mery has promised to contribute more often there! lol
i told her " u know, just 1 picture, 1 shot, one sentence" just so we know u're alive

January 2011

Our cocktail dresses finally arrived and I was happy to start the year with the sale of these4 Smooch designs:)
Impeccable quality and unique designs, Mery and I kept one of each except for the Slack Cardigan :(
Puce is back on the market and we hear your cries for more oxford blazers,
maybe a blast from the past edition would be interesting?

We hope you enjoy the laydee day bags,

they will look so pretty with the SMooch tweed wrap skirts we have instore for you :)

I took a break from the shop after these 2 massive launches as it was too close to CNY
and I really wanted to hurry the webdesigners for the shop layout

But also went on a whimp that we should go all out for a nice shoot of the Mayflower dresses
which have been selling via emails
the pressure was on me, as I didn't think I would have the energy to pose in all 9 colours by myself
so I hired a make up artist -Haslinda who was really good at braiding hair and she decorated the girls in french braids
here are some pics we got our inspiration from

went sourcing for flowers

4 nubras + 3 pairs of shoes + 16 balloons to wing the whole photoshoot
$30 shoes
friday was indoor shot with Pris for individual shots
went to bryan's studio for the first time

the 4 chosen ones who did a fabulous job : nathalie, noelle, priscilla and super sweet friend anya

bryan and jean were our photographers, gina was running behind with me placing props & getting the girls dressed , micheala was really super generous to lend us her humongous house for the entire 4 hours, this shoot would not have been possible at all if not for all of them.
[micheala also gets free supply of Smooch apparel :) hehehe ]

i totally forgot about food, next time i must rembr to always bring snacks!

so the shots taken with my iphone compiled here, the final edits are gonna look so so good!

it was our first ever shoot and we spent more than $1K, so let's hope it's all worth it!!
labour of love indeed :)

2010- Mostly wasted on weekends, here's how:

(finally done with december!)
 Dec 2010
Quite an exciting month for us
1) Herworld Brides emailed us to do a feature on the Mayflower dress,
they said they've seen cheaper convertible dresses but none compares to the ones sold on ATBU :)
Look out for the 1 page feature in March 2011, crossing fingers very hard and dreaming for the new website to be up by then!!
Mayflower in Champagne Nude

2nd Dec was my Dad's birthday and we headed to Paradise Pavilion at MBFC to celebrate :)

Sharks fins soup is like "evil" but it tasted so good! :X
we loved eating at Paradise since it's first outlet at Mosque Street
the lamb was so tender and soft...

parentals and me in Bondi Toga Dress :)
have I  mentioned how much I loved the shades of blue used in the restaurant?
I can totally imagine holding another tea session here or having a good dinner with friends

haha see how fusion! loved the perky  "shou tou"
Here's wishing my daddy all the best for his health !!2010 was a tough year but thank God for family!

One Sunday was spent taking pictures of the Aztec Dress :)
hehe guess what inspired the pose, Fendi!

Thanks to Ling our model and kudos to her & Bryan+ Jean,  this dress was well received  :)

2)Mery came back for a friend's wedding and on 8th Dec
we had a little Meet-up with our customers at Sour Sally SG :)
Jocelyn is the proud owner of Sour Sally and we're so happy & flattered she approached us to do a promo with her.
She's the one to thank for giving SMooch customers 10% discount till end Feb 2011
All the best to her business, it was swamped with Indons!
I love  original flavour with mochi best :) please go try that combi :) hahaha
Mery and I were fretting on what to wear at my place, and I decided to dig out an older design : the Havana Dress in Midori Green while Mery flaunted the Aztec in Ivory :)

After Sour Sally, it was a hop and a skip to Evans Rd to collect  Hatched vouchers for our winners
Wei Ting came along and she was clad in Smooch as well ,
she wore Chloe Mini Teadress in Moss Green :)
we tried to record an impromptu video to wish everyone happy holidays,
haha but it's not gonna be up!(too loongg winded heheehe)
whenever Mery comes back, she's really busy catching up with friends so i kinda don't wanna mix that up with work , she's only going to be back every 3 months, which means 4 times a year?
* really sad abt this*sniff*

so Dec was relatively slack and I took a week and a half off  from work :)
Traded really well and I was happy to reach my target in10days so I could go on leave without worries

List of things that I did with the girls
1. attended a fashion show by Al & Alicia and girly dinner at Chalk ( old School)
(inspirational for me but i have to admit it was a bit too indie for the glamourous P)

2. Tortured the girls
parents went away for a day so i thought why not cook dinner and invite the usual guinea pigs- it was epic fail but hey at least it was 1 domestic duty checked for the year :)
ebiko on mentaiko pasta , chawanmushi, lamb , lamb rack and homemade mash potatoes :)

the failed green tea panne cotta, think i needed more time in the fridge or more gelatin sheets

desboy wouldn't eat it and oh look at gina's face!
haha! such agony
P.S: Da Paolo's coming to Serangoon Gardens! tiramisu foreva!

11th Dec:
Agnetha's and Jeremy's wedding
and the Poons came back to be part of the bridal entourage

 Tabs, Elaine, M & me
Baoyi had her 13 bridesmaids clad in blue cos she love blue and she claims its a convent thing :)

Dinner was at Shang
Seated by the aisle with fun people hahaa

(pssst  this dude standing in front of my seat was an ex from junior college  haha le sigh)

kexin, the rising starlette with incredible vocals :) a customer from ATBU whom we got to know better after Mery's wedding n someone we'll see more often in time to come ;)

to welcome the bride in her 2nd outfit, the entourage danced in to 500 Days of Summer/s
" you make my dream come true"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tJoIaXZ0rw
i love this movie :) and the girls who choreographed the dance were 2 yrs my senior from St Nix, they've stuck together since secondary sch, how awesome is that

Lovely trio: Sarah , Mery and Elaine :)
This particular wedding was by far one of the most entertaining ones I've attended, it was punctuated with random videos,  silly emcees, spontaneity sure doesn't come easy!
more pics from:
http://bryanjeanblog.com/2010/12/15/jeremy-agnetha-wedding-day-and-bridal-portraits/

That night was also Zouk Out' at Sentosa
I was sooo sure I wasn't going but we did anyway hah!

we had a lil hut to ourselves for a bit before we separated in the crowd
and almost died from all the squishing
Rasa was under reno and seriously, always get a room for an event like this
last yr was soo much better in terms of crowd control.
at least we caught the fireworks!

Don't think i've mentioned much abt this bunch of people i've come to know better after dating Desboy
the boys will only  talk abt golf and L4D while us girls just roll our eyes away
i hate to admit this,  but i do enjoy the board games and silly nights out
typical "play hard work hard" bunch! :)
=======
with Christmas round the corner,  shopping for presents were tough!
but not with free delivery on shopbop :)

ordered half of Mery's present bundle from the outnet and they gave free Xmas cards :)
her birthday falls on 24th so must always have 2 pressies, never combine! :X
 the final line-up
HoH trinkets from quintessential
didn't buy anything big for myself though...overspent on friends

 inspiratioNAILS

Stephanie at Charmed nearly nailed the look :) for less than $30

Stayed in a tiny studio loft for a weekend
and may  i emphasize on the word " studio"
nittygritty tiny space but the fluffy soft bed salvaged it all :)

FINALLY saved space for pancakes from Hatched :)
( as far as i was concerned then, we've never made it past the  mains to dessert)

3.Christmas dinner

Jo Jo stopped over for like 3 or 4 hours and we had tampopo before heading down to wanderlust hotel
Christmas Gifts exchange! :)

 was not planned
we both chose florals ahhaa
while taking our orders, the waitor actually asked if we wanted to stop ordering ?
like seriously???
hahha no!
it was our christmas dinner and we were going to have a good one
(des didn't make it though, when will the fighting stop ?
haha, 2 out of 2 dinners null attendance,
yes, the girls do keep count)

so we had escargots squished into profiterol-ish pastries

was not feeling well from some random bout of flu,
truffle mushroom soup was AHMYGAWD, i could actually Smell the truffle with my blocked nose

whaddya know
expandable boxer pants. sure comes in handy in some kinky outdoor fiasco - thanks ang!

A weighing scale sat inside this huge magic pantry box
I was filled with trepidation when I saw it, thought G bought me cookbooks or something to encourage me to pursue cooking as a hobby and not a yearly whimp

my melody pez from P to G

kids, dont try this at home
G posing with my gift -  MBMJ sunnies in purple rims! :)

Merry Christmas to goldilocks and his 3 bears
XOXO
place: cocotte at wanderlust, great ambience
but food... hmm.. i don't think we'll be going back for seconds
25th Dec - Ferry Ferry Xmas
Ferry Corsten at Zouk

everyone was sloshed and it's amazing how we still managed to make it for brunch at Boomarang,
( new food place to love!)

 zzleepy

Brunch in a big group is always noisy and fun
one shot with the girls and i look half dead here hahaha!
1.1.11
so many ones! reminds me of binary
urgh was only good in converting binary to decimals in school, never more than that

NYE was at Overeasy again this year, pretty simple why
1. Awesome DJ-
2. Fireworks

Des was really sweet, he wanted to join me instead of us being seperated and of course G wasn't around
cos she's with her press people and prepping for the fireworks

i wish P would just find someone who'll put a Moet bottle in front of her face the moment she wakes up

it was super club sandwich  + sliders and waiting for the clock to strike 12

 Confetti, poppers, we went absolutelycraaaaazzy!
such a sucker for NYE and at the back of my head, the thought of spending NYE at another part of the globe pops out all the time
it's the whole being with someone you love and being far away  from everyone ( preferably cold too) thought that's so enticing

smiley faces aplenty:) :)
goodbye 2010 and hello 2011, just like that.
new year, new beginnings!

Nov 2010
went by in a blur
most important event would be Gina's 25th Birthday :) dinner was at the new
P.S Cafe located at Ann Siang Hill (A.S.H)
 origami queen folded these herself
 fancy nails

love ps cafe's udon salad :)
truffle fries is  comfort food + loveee
 p came latteeeee

get married already? come on!! we need a wedding ahahaha

g didn't like her cake v much hahahhaha,

we couldn't give her Miffy cakes cos l' patiserrie said it was an infringement of copyright  : (
so they gave us little garden bunnies :( but we tried our best!

 happy 5 -2 ?!
 hahaa

Cake cutting + drinks followed  upstairs by the bar

 HAPPY SHINY PEOPLE

belle and lishan

just plain awkward & silly here haha

on 16 Nov itself ,i took the next day off so that i can hang out with them at Kudeta for some real birthday drinks

 Lookin' forever 18 babe! :)

the view was really beautiful except that all the shots i had were too noisy with the lights haha
after dave was done spinning, the party went on with some severly overpriced drinks ahhaa
well if its 5 figure$$  for membership, i guess they can charge their prices at that range
and kudeta on MBS is not really ku de ta from Bali? rumour?
dont know, don't matter :)
wish i could dip in the infinity pool soon though :)

 Happy 25th , Gina cupcake!!
may you be blessed with love and the good stuff through and through :)
8 years of friendship has been nothing but CRAZY fun!!!

Oct 2010
a month of non stop partying, farewells, birthdays, weddings, halloween!

close friend Kwanyi leaves for Arizona for flight training or whatever you call it  till next Feb
so it was the usual place on a typical friday night

one of those saturdays was Leo's turning 30
he headed back to Sing Sing for the weekend, rented a porsche and did a Thursday to Saturday thing before he flew off on Sunday
threw a themed party, " hospitisation for the soul" anything related with old- age , hospitals hehe
1 week before her wedding, swas was in town and gamely joined pris and us

thanks mom for the flintstone leopard print dress and dad for indoor slippers
i think i was dressed up as a old grandmama pimp-ette, loved the cab uncle's reaction when he saw me

we hobbled around, played with huge syringes and drank from a whisky bottle hung on a drip stand , funny how we didn't bring the party on to the clinic at clark quay, or maybe they did but g & i went home first ahaha

leo actually shaved his head for the night hehee

the real mystery was: where did leo get his rajah & tann jacket from??

week after:

remember how i mentioned G and P gets to be bridesmaid for a close friend this year?
P was one of the  bridesmaids of the incredibly lovely and grand wedding of Swasti & Andrew's
they hired Axioo who did an incredibly good job with the pre-wedding shots taken in France ,
visit their website and
makes my heart all fuzzy to see different couples and their approach to celebrate their day together,
couldn't stop gushing at the wedding gowns :)

ballroom pics : credits to Alwin of Lightedpixels Photography

the bridesmaids helping with the bride and her numerous gifts from tea ceremony frm her family

The  ballroom was decorated to a "Alice  in Wonderland" theme by Tina Lee media( I think)
there were these giant animal plant sculptures at the reception area
I was like !!?!??!?!?!
n the inside decor was breath-taking
the entire stage was decorated with walls, moss and trees and a lovely starry-filled sky with a full moon as a stage backdrop
and Swasti looked like a princess with a tiara on her head dressed in the Elie Saab S/S 2010 Caelum dress( seen above) for her entrance
and followed by a scarlet red dress ( which i think is always the colour to be in for second change :X )

Admidst the glamour and lovely music, i liked her  youngest sister's speech best followed by her younger brother's performance
I'm not as close as P is to them but even that brought a tear to my eye hahaha

It went something along the lines of Kas being the younger sis would read Swas's diary secretly and one day read " if you read my diary again, I hope you eat and eat and eat and blow up and die"
so she fought back with a diary entry that went something like "if you read my diary again, I hope you faster find a guy and marry off soon so I won't have to see you again!"
it was hilarious, cos sibling squabbles are so silly in primary school right
Kas continued to say " we should be careful of what we wished for" cos Swas has finally found someone and can't bear to part with her

Sisterly love

All the best to the couple ;)
" zao shen gui zi! "
William Soh was invited to sing for the wedding and
he said " out of 5 weddings he performed at,
the couples each had a baby within the first year " hehehe let's see!

  P & Tina

Wedding after part was at Zouk  and P helped to organise details like balloons and tags for guests to enter & Aldrin was spinning too, I was a lil peeved with some of the guests cos they kept bugging P throughout the entire night at dinner asking abt the bus and all and poor P had no clue, so one tip:
after-party details texted and circulated within the group way before the wedding day itself
Had no idea how the couple summoned all that energy to party after such a long and eventful day but they sure know how to keep a party fun
Tossing of the Wedding bouquet  was done right at zouk, pretty hilarious

Following weekend was HALLOWEEN!
and our boss and family were dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters at their house party

Anya was in a ship captain costume and I was a Chinese Take Out Gal proudly parading my momma's huge wooden chopsticks

G was minnie mouse and P was a witch with tattoos courtesy of G's mommy's doodling

THE PARTY was definitely at  the white rabbit  :) everybody was dressed up from the creepy to the crazy, i loved it!!

merlion spotted! n her top looks familiar hahaha #539 scallop tiered mermaid dress in deed!

 gay bunny spotted

wayne as doraemon, he rented the costume for $60 only cos it didnt have a head LOL!

my favourite shots of the night :
surrounded by hot ladies

hopped back home with the 2 creepies :) hahaha
what shall we dress up for next year?? Halloween is just awesome!
