Happy Easter!

We went out to Mom and Dad’s for the weekend.  We colored eggs Friday night so the kids could find them on Saturday.

They had a lot of fun!

Austin, waiting patiently.

Grandma Wilkey

My thoughts and prayers have been with Grandma Wilkey as she is in the hospital right now and not doing well.  How often has she held one of our newborns in this way?

Why Do I March?

***Update***  For some reason, my bar in the left column doesn't show the total.  We're up to $125!

Why do I support the March for Babies?  There are so many organizations, many good causes.  I support the March for Babies because they do so many good things to support their mission of someday, every baby being born healthy.  And those of us who have had a baby who was not born healthy know how important it is.  Or, we know someone whose baby was not healthy.  Often, we associate the March of Dimes with prematurity because they have done a lot of work and research to help prevent prematurity and help those babies born too soon, like Ben and Andrea’s sweet Gracie
Others have been born with other problems like our Zach.  Spina Bifida has been a life changing diagnosis for us.  Even though much of our day to day things are the same, our lives were changed when this sweet baby came into our world.  And now he’s a determined almost three year old!

The March of Dimes has had a big hand in promoting Folic Acid awareness and since awareness began and more foods have been supplemented with Folic Acid, the incidence of Spina Bifida has decreased.  There are still other factors that can cause it and hopefully with more research, many more cases can be prevented.
This poster from the March of Dimes Website helps show how they have helped babies.

I doesn’t take much to help.  Any amount, large or small, adds up.  My goal this year is $500.  I am at $25.  The walk is next Saturday, April 30th.  If you would like to support our team, please click HERE to make a secure online donation.
We would also love to have you join us that day.  It will be a lot of fun, with an awesome face painter, a balloon artist, food, and other fun activities.  It’s a fun thing to do as a family.  It will be held at Canyon View Park, 1.5 Miles Up Provo Canyon.  Registration begins at 9:00 and the walk begins at 10:00 a.m.  You can even come and hear Amber and me sing the National Anthem!
If you’d like to join us, please register by clicking on the donation button at the top of the page.  That way we know how many people to plan for.  And remember, please also consider making a donation, as the point of the walk is to celebrate the money we’ve raised to help babies!

Oh, What to Blog About….?

Should I blog about the fact that my semi-dressed boys really like Mario Kart Wii?

IMG_3480

Or that Austin is so skinny, some of his pants don’t stay up?

IMG_3491

IMG_3493

Or that most of Jaiden’s pant’s are too small and/or have holes in the knees?  And that it’s too close to summer to want to buy more…  Also, they have since had haircuts!

IMG_3495

Or that Austin got his cast off, but another put back on after a little over a week because he still wouldn’t walk?  That one was blue and thinner, and he could use it to walk, which he did everywhere.  He’s finally starting to walk a little more normal now that the second one has been off for almost two weeks.

IMG_2947

Or that the first strawberries of the season were so yummy, (since I refuse to buy them when they are almost $4 a pound!)

IMG_2986

And that I put them on top of Wendy Paul’s Key Lime Pie Cupcakes?

IMG_2989

Or that we got to see baby Clara and Amber and David in the hospital and that Grandma was there too?

IMG_3469

Or that we tried to fly out dollar store kites but by the time we got to the park, the wind had picked up and was too strong so we just came back home.  And that, surprisingly, none of the boys cried about it?

IMG_3490

Or that we had a mouse in the backyard make a little maze under cardboard that got blown there and then snowed on.  It lived under that and the rocks.  It was big.  And it died.

IMG_3017

Dead mouse in white bag = lots of screaming by mom, me.

IMG_3018

Or that Jaiden and Austin like to help me wash dishes by hand.

IMG_3502

And that even though more water ends up outside of the sink than in, I’m still thrilled with the help.

IMG_3503

Or that we really like Peeps at our house?  Except Zach usually only has a couple of bites and then is done, and sometimes wants to put the rest back in the box.

IMG_2973

Oh, there is so much to blog about, but these are a few of the things from the month of March.  Hope it was a good one for you!

Now I’m going to go do this:
