I LOVED this little patch of poppies. I think I want one in my yard. I’d probably kill them though.
Getting ready to go on the Toy Story Mania ride. We loved it!
I thought I did pretty good….until I saw and heard the other scores….!
Funny Family For Sale!
The Ferris Wheel of Fright! Okay, that’s not it’s real name….Is it Mickey’s Fun Wheel?!
I’m sure some these pictures will convince you of the other name… (remember what I said about getting what you give for pictures…….)
Okay, so really Mom and Carlos were just being silly right after we got going. But, we were in a SWINGING cage. We weren’t going to go in a swinging one but I decided, hey, we’ve got to experience it all while we’re here! So we started out doing pretty good, everyone was happy...
…until I was not paying attention to what point of the wheel we were at and we quickly went sliding backwards (for the first time). I screamed so bad that I scared poor Austin to death and almost made him cry. Grandma took him and tried to comfort him…
Jaiden and Zach thought it was great! Austin started to recuperate by the time the ride was over!
The guy at the entrance to the ride helped us figure out where we needed to go later with our Fast Passes for the World of Color Show. He also recommended we sit in the wet zone because at this time of year there weren’t high winds and it would just be a mist instead of lots of water…that was good to know!
Austin did recover enough to eat some popcorn and Jaiden was loving his Astro Blaster that he got with his money.
We went on the Carousel.
Carlos and I went on California Screamin' I didn’t really want to but decided, why not. Mom stayed with the boys and watched the carousel. I had my camera with me but as I lowered the safety bar, the strap came undone. They were getting ready to go so Carlos took it and wrapped it around his wrist and hung on tight. But then we get going and he starts to lift up his hands and I kept yelling for him to put his hands down and hang on to my camera! It was probably pretty hilarious for the couple in front of us. Actually, when we were looking at our pictures afterward, they said they would never forget us! I thought the ride was fun but it did go pretty fast and had a lot of drops. Carlos thought it was no big deal at all and was disappointed in it. We decided that’s because he’s flown small airplanes and has felt a lot more than that ride!
I love that magical time of day when the sun is setting and the lights start to come on. It’s filled with the anticipation of things yet to come, especially in a place like this!
Fun things were yet to come! We had some time before the World of Color show so we went back down to Soarin’ Over California, whose line was really long earlier and our Fast Passes for it clashed with the World of Color. The line wasn’t as bad so we decided to go ahead, but because Jaiden was the only one tall enough, Carlos and he went first, then Mom and I. We were able to go in right after them, not have to wait in the long line, but they took forever! We barely got done in time to get back for the light show!
Also, while walking over to the Soarin’ ride, we passes the Grizzly Rapids and this is what we saw! Aaaaooooo!
Waiting for Carlos and Jaiden at the ride…it wasn’t raining but it was a little breezy and these kept them warm.
Then we booked it back to get a good seat for the show, ended up sitting in the wheelchair zone which had benches and was still in the wet zone but not right up front. The were still pretty good seats! Then mom and I went to find something to eat. We got a sandwich and chips to share and a yummy, huge cinnamon roll which they warmed up for us. YUM! Austin had fallen asleep in the stroller and Zach fell asleep just a few minutes before the show started. They missed out! Jaiden was mesmerized the entire time!
Waiting…
Then, it begins!
It was amazing and I highly recommend it! Make sure you get a Fast Pass though! Jaiden loved it and his favorite part was when the did a Tron promo with it after the main show was over. I thought it ruined the ending by completely changing the theme from classic Disney songs and flowing lights, water and color to a loud, fast-paced, complete 180 from what we had just seen. It would have been cool by itself, or even at the beginning. But was Jaiden’s favorite part and what he talks about the most. He was disappointed I didn’t get good pictures of it!
We headed back to the hotel then and had to put Jaiden in the wheelchair because Zach and Austin were asleep, so we took turns carrying Austin and had Zach in the stroller. They were pretty tuckered out!
Jaiden was still awake when we got there and was running around blasting everything with his Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster. I asked him to go get his p.j.’s on and, after a few minutes of silence, went to check on him. Cute boy couldn’t stay awake any longer!
Now I’m headed to my bed too! Goodnight!
