Family Reunion

Mom took the boys up to the family reunion and I did go up Thursday afternoon then back on Friday with Carlos and stayed the night.  Thanks so much to Mom and Dad for their help with everything!

We had an appointment today to check Zach's weight  and he gained 5 ounces in 6 days.  Yeah!   Everything looks good!  

 

We're All Together Again, We're Here, We're Here...

 

We've been home since Saturday evening and everyone is doing well, other than the normal new baby exhaustion.  Zachary had the stitches taken out of his back today and the wound is healing really well.  His head is measuring great and the doctor was pleased with his weight, especially after all he's been through.  We feel so blessed at how well he is doing with everything.  Even though he can't move his legs by themselves, he is really strong and moves his body around all over the place.  He is a sweet, sweet boy and a blessing in our home.  Thanks to everyone for the visits and the love and support.  Here are some pics from the last week.

 

 

Surgery

Zach had his shunt put in today and everything went well. He is still a little sleepy from the surgery. He is starting to eat and is doing really well. They will do a CT scan tomorrow to make sure the shunt is working properly and they will also do an ultrasound on his bladder to see if we are going to have to use a catheter to help empty it completely or not. They still aren't sure when he'll be released but it may be this weekend or the beginning of next week.

They had his diapers on backwards when he was on his tummy. Too cute.

The Video

Zachary Isaiah

Zachary was born yesterday at 11:19 am. He weighed 7 1bs 11 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. He was three weeks early with a planned cesarean.

Zachary had his back surgery today and everything went well. We are still waiting to see if he needs a shunt. It looks like he will but we are praying that he will be okay without one. I'll try to keep this updated as we go but it will depend on the day and what's going on. The docs are saying that 7-10 days is a normal stay for the babies. I'll probably be here most of that time.

Here are a couple of pics and a cute video. Carlos took it while he was in the NICU at University Hospital right after he was born and I was in recovery. I hadn't seen him yet so I really apreciated the video.
