Thanksgiving in St. George and Zion National Park

We headed to St. George for Thanksgiving and spent it with my mom and grandpa.  We drove through a snowstorm on the way down but once we got to St. George, the weather was great (which is why people often go to St. George in the winter).  We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal and went to Zion National Park (about an hour outside of St. George) on the day after Thanksgiving.  The park is beautiful.  We definitely want to go back and explore it some more!

Game time!

I started a new job in the Athletics Department of the University of Utah, and as part of that job I can get tickets to events and games from time to time (and also some great gear and swag)!  We went to the U of U football game vs. Oregon this past Saturday.  The game was thrilling, the weather was perfect, and the setting was spectacular.  Too bad the Utes lost at the last second.  :-(  But we had a lot of fun nonetheless.  Stephen went to the Jazz vs. Bulls game this past week too and got to sit court-side with some folks from his work.  While Texas teams remain our first and true love, we have adopted the Jazz and Utes as teams to root for while we live here in SLC!

Snow!

The kids are super excited about living in a place where it snows!  We got our first snowfall yesterday.  :)

W.O.W. and B.O.W.

While the Calvert women in Houston did their annual Women Only Weekend (W.O.W.), those of us in Utah (my girls, Naomi, and I) did one in Park City.  We ate out, stayed up late, shopped, and got mani/pedis.  :)  Meanwhile, Stephen and Harrison did a Boys Only Weekend (B.O.W.), going out for Pizza, watching Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom, and going to Fat Cats for some glow-in-the-dark mini golf.  The Fall weather continues to be amazing here.  Fun times!

Enjoying the Beautiful Fall Weather!

October and the beginning part of the November have been lovely here along the Wasatch Front.  It has been a little warmer than usual, with highs in the 60's and 70's and lows in the 40's and 50's, and we have taken advantage of the beautiful weather and autumn scenery, going on hikes and walks and socializing outside.  Sophie had her tennis banquet recently too, which was enjoyable, and we had fun family visits with Brandon and Michelle, on their way to Seattle, and my Aunt Debbie, who lives just north of us in Kaysville.

Happy Halloween!

The Fall here has been gorgeous, and Halloween day was no exception!  Crisp but not cold with beautiful fall colors all around.  This is the park right across the street from our house, or as we like to call it, our front yard.  :)

Emme with her friends at the school costume parade!

Lots of fun costumes :)

Harrison with his buddies starting the neighborhood trick-or-treating early!

They went for hours and got way too much candy!
After trading all of the nut-containing candy because of his allergies, and eating some to enjoy the spoils, Sonny organized his haul by type.  He is our engineer.  :)
