A Happy Hectic Weekend- Part 2 @ the ZOO

On Sunday, we were at the ZOO (yes, again) in the morning. Caleb was not in the best of mood cos he was roused earlier than usual for his milk in the morning. He was slightly grouchy as he needs his nap by the the we got to the zoo. But I guess fun time is more impt for the playful boy. The ZZZ monster was forgotten once his feet touches the ground.

As cousin Stef says, the Childrens' Playground is the highlight of the day! Yes, indeed it was! And NO, we are not prepared for it! ZZAAA. Caleb just recovered from flu. So we thought, well, no water. So we did not bring his swim barangs. We were dutifully followed our plan until Caleb's feet touches the water. Then, hell broke loose. He was screaming & struggling when we tried to bring him away from the waddling pool. He loves playing with water, you see. His pants were wet, so was his T-shirt. He was having so much fun and we couldn't bear to deprive him of that. So we had to buy the necessary stuffs from the only store. Hell it was EXpensive! The swim diaper cost 2.90 for a piece. Stef says it cost her abt 1.60 from outside. And the towel with a zoo stamp is selling at 19.90! Super low quality one some more! So bought a bath-robe instead., 21.90 but i thought it's more worth the money. Anyway Lesson learnt today: BE PREPARED ALWAYS. Even when it is not in the plans. With children around, the plans change.

Even with all the complains & suffering under the scorching hot sun, all is worth because I think Caleb did enjoy the day tremendously. Parental sacrifice.. ;)

By the way, if you are think - haaarrr , zoo again ?.. haha, pls hor, we found more hard-cores! Afterall, we are there like only 5 times in 1-and-half years. My cousin Stef visits the zoo ONCE a MONTH. And her friend June??? kows, ONCE a WEEK!!!!! CHAMPION! Be warned parents-to-be!

Don't they look like the new sculpture @ the Singapore Zoo entrance, haha. Guess what is father & son looking?... Girls! Hai!

Pictures taken with the real sculptures.

Checking out the water sprout. Still a little apprehensive.

Sun is too strong, I can't open my eyes.

What is Meagan jie-jie up to???

P.s. Look how fair is Caleb, eeeow... got to bring him out in the sun more often. This is the 1st time he appears half naked in the public (blush blush). And Meagan is half naked cos she refuses to put on her little bikini. Probably Meagan knows how shy is Caleb & decide to give his little cousin some practical support ;)

A Happy Hectic Weekend- Part 1 @ the Marina Barrage

We had so much fun over the last weekend. No shopping this week. Just Lots of sun, lots of sweat... but all well-worth it.

On Saturday, we made it down to the Marina Barrage on Saturday to catch part of the action of the NDP'2009 rehearsal live. Caleb lovesssss helicopters & planes. He recognises the noise. So whenever he hears one flying pass our house, he will look out the window & gesture to tell us "no more" (interpreted as he knows there is a helicopter/plane somewhere near. But he can't see it). He is always thinking about it constantly too. Often, in the middle of his play, he will point to the window or the sky & tell us "no more". HA. SOOO you can imagine how happy he is to see the choppers... and big ones too, rather than 2 dots in the sky. Plus the chinnook carrying the Singapore Flag... wah ... best combo... cos lately he is equally into the Singapore Flag. Gets really happy & excited when he spots the Flag anywhere & everywhere. Not a bad start to like planes... ha, how about becoming a pilot when he grows up??? !!! As parents we will love that, dont we? ;p

We were there at 6-plus and stayed on till 8.30 for the small fireworks display. If you are considering Marina Barrage for the fireworks,... hmmm... i would say not too good because the new IR building blocked the full view.

Entertaining himself before the show starts.

Caleb's favourite in action.

Look at Caleb... ... don't you think the boy have a satisfied smile on his face.

The boy is always meddling with his bike instead of sitting in it.

Nice night view of the barrage & city from the bridge/dam (i think it is a dam).

Marina Barrage

We were at Marina Barrage on a weekday when daddy & mummy were both on leave (22nd Jun 09). Quite a nice place. You have free carpark, free fun-pool for kids, good view of the city & the sea and it is spacious. Too bad we are not prepared/equipped for the fun-pool (didn't know there was one!). But I am sure we will be there pretty often. How about catching one of the NDP previews from there ??? Should be quite a view ;)
