Last night we went to Mamaw and Bapaw’s house for dinner.

These pictures are from Friday night. After the fair, we dropped Elliott off at a middle school youth group party. It was a swim party, but he never swam. He played pickle ball and football. Something tells me that his blue toenails played a part in him not wanting to take his shoes off. Ha! Elliott had a busy weekend: fair, youth party, cross country meet, and his birthday party. Shoo!

Elliott is 12!!!

366 middle school boys raced

A fire truck provided a hose to cool the runners off. It was so hot/humid yesterday morning that I had to take a shower when we got home; all I did was stand and watch! 

Originally, Elliott wanted to take friends to Huber’s to play at the Family Fun Park. While at the fair Friday, it was miserably hot outside; it was going to be the same heat index yesterday, so we decided to just have his friends come to our house. Air conditioning and sprinkler/water balloons for the win! 

The kids asked if they could play the spicy jelly bean Beanboozled game. I am glad they came up with that on their own (so I can't be blamed for torturing them). Their mouths were on fire! I haven’t laughed that hard in awhile.

Hard to believe Elliott will be 13 next year!?! We will have THREE teenagers!!!

Always interesting to see the mold at the end of the fair.

This juggler was hilarious. He selected me out of the audience to toss his knives at him while he was up on the unicycle. 

This is the reaction I get from the boys when I insist they smile. Turds.

I mean… 

It was so nice to be back at the fair after not having the fair last year. Kat decided to stay home and get schoolwork done (and mostly enjoy a quiet house). Julia and Raymond were at the fair after school. 

August 27

My birthday started out with Lucy giving Clay my morning snuggles. Wait. What!?! We didn’t see him all day Wednesday. He left for work at 6:30am and didn’t get home until 11:30pm. He knew he was going to work late, but wasn’t expecting to put in a 15 hour day. The bonus is that he didn’t have to go to work yesterday.

Clay arranged for us to get pedicures yesterday. It was pretty funny watching the boys get their legs rubbed. Elliott was even willing to get nail polish since it was my birthday. Ha! 


We ate at Guaca Mole for dinner. Yum!


Homemade cards are my jam. Elliott really should open his own division of Hallmark cards.

Happy Birthday to me!

Wednesday nights at church have started back up. Last year Julia, Kat, and Elliott went to youth group, but there wasn’t a program for the elementary and preschool kids. This year, instead of AWANA, we are doing a program called Bible Skills, Drills, and Thrills.  I am the group leader for 4th and 5th graders. The kids were so happy to be back together again. The chatter and energy was fun!

August 25

Lucy enjoys Tuesdays with all the siblings gone at school.


School was hard today for these four (Kat’s passed out behind Elliott). Everyone had a test. 

Please pray for Abbie. She is in the ICU with some sort of respiratory virus. Her covid test was negative.
