Lucy (11 weeks) got to meet Thad (1 week) yesterday. Doesn't she look big next to a newborn?

February 27

Nonna came for a visit this weekend. She stayed home with the 3 big kids Saturday night so Clay and I could go on a date night (with Lucy). Yesterday we went to a frozen yogurt place and watched a magician and then went to a park to enjoy the sunshine.

Look how chunky Lucy is getting! I joke that my milk is whipping cream and not skim milk; look at those arm and legs rolls as proof!

Enjoying a Saturday nap with Nonna

Sweet 'n Swirly - two thumbs up.

February 23

On Tuesday I went to the hospital to see my friend Jill and her new baby, Thad. This is Thad with his proud big sister Mollie.

Elliott is starting to get more interested in Lucy when/if she's awake. He asks to hold her and wants to play with her. He's a sweet boy.

Matthew and Elliott loved the batter so much that when I took their beaters away I caught Elliott licking Matthew's cheek clean!

Matthew is potty training now too, so both boys run around in their shirts and underpants. I promise some people in my house do wear pants... it's just usually not anyone under the age of 8.

It's not Play-Doh; I made green eggs and ham for dinner. Whatever it takes to get the kids to eat, right?

February 20

Clay had today off from work (President's Day), so we used a coupon for a free bowling game to take the wee dude bowling. Ever since we took him last month, he talks about it all the time. It was alot of fun.

This time Elliott used a "hill" (ramp) to put his ball on.

Elliott thought that hitting the blue thing when he was done would get him the ball back.

Come OOOooonnn!!! Come on! .... I missed.

Happy Birthday Terah!

We went to 2 birthday parties last night. The first was for our friends' Chris and Michelle's twins who are turning 1. It was great to catch up with them. They live in Vermont now so we don't see them often. Then we left that party to head to my friend Aimee's son's 6th birthday party; a swimming party. The kids had a blast swimming.

Chris and Lucy

Here's Lucy at the swimming party. The only other picture we took has Aimee in her swimsuit. I made her promise not to post any pictures of me in mine, so I am doing the same for her. It is a very humbling (humiliating might be a better word) experience to be in a swimsuit 2 months after giving birth. I guess I now have my motivation to start getting back into shape before swimsuit season!

February 18

Julia spent the night with Mamaw and Bapaw last night. Clay took Kat out on a date to the movies and then out for ice cream. This morning Clay took Elliott to the Farm Machinery Show while Lucy and I went to Kat's last basketball game. It is nice to be able to give them kids 1x1 time. They thrive on it! It requires a little effort now that we have 4 kiddos.

Kat really enjoyed basketball. She was sad that this was her last game.

Clay took Elliott and Julia to Long John Silvers (for their first and possibly last visit) and I took Kat to Burger King for lunch. What does it say about us that 1- we took pictures at Fast Food Restaurants, and 2 - that we feed our kids this crap!?!

February 17

Last night I got to go out (with Lucy) and hang out with some friends; we're starting a Bunco group. It will be nice to have a night with girlfriends once a month!

Fun with toothpicks and marshmallows (Elliott mostly ate the marshmallows)

At 9 weeks old, Lucy is getting stronger neck muscles and can hold her head up for a few minutes in the Bumbo. I am suspecting that she is gong to have red(ish) hair! People comment on it regularly, but I caught a glimpse of it in the sunlight yesterday and it really does have a red tint to it! It will be funny if she ends up being a red-headed Lucy!

February 16

Julia woke up yesterday morning feeling fine, so she went back to school. Matthew came over for a couple of hours, so that kept Elliott busy while I got some chores done around the house (are they ever actually done?).

This was our Valentine's Day breakfast. Heart-shaped Cool Whip on the hot chocolate (idea from Pinterest). I am pretty sure I could eat an entire container of Cool Whip - Yum!

One of the chores I got done was to organize my recipes. I also got the idea for putting cork board in my cabinets from Pinterest (it is hard to see the cork board since my cabinets are apparently the same color as cork board). Now I can pin my recipes on the cork board while I am using them and they won't be covered in food!

Finally posting some of the pictures Clay took in Alaska!

In Alaska it is so cold that you have to plug your car in when you park, otherwise all the fluids freeze.

Denali National Park - Don't these look like a Bob Ross painting? I can just hear him say, "This happy little tree needs a friend." Ha! The picture on the bottom left is Mt McKinley.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Julia woke up this morning with the stomach bug, so she won't be going to school. This also means that I can't go to Kat's Valentine's Party at school. I had to miss her Christmas party because I'd just given birth to Lucy. Poor kiddo keeps getting the raw end of the deal (although Julia might disagree with that today).

Yesterday the girls didn't have school because of Parent-Teacher Conferences. Both are doing good in school and reading at least one grade level above their current grade.

Another idea from Pinterest: the girls' Valentine's Day cards. These were super easy and I think they turned out super cute.
