August 31

I didn't take any pictures today. I can't believe it! Elliott woke up without a fever today, but we stayed at home just to make sure he rested as much as possible. Tonight we had AWANA at church. It went much better than last week.

August 30

Elliott had a fever again today. While Clay and the girls went to Mamaw and Bapaw's to celebrate Uncle Bob's birthday, Elliott and I went out for ice cream, because that makes everything better.

Elliott has discovered his love for Sesame Street, or "Elmo", as he calls it.

August 29

Elliott started running a fever last night of 101.5. He woke up with a fever this morning too, so we had a restful day at home. Well, as restful a day as you can have with a 2 yr-old boy. Even sick, Elliott doesn't sit still for long! We colored pictures, played Play-Doh, watched Sesame Street, and played with his new birthday toys. I am pooped!

Happy 2nd Birthday Elliott!!!

We celebrated Elliott's birthday this afternoon with a family party. He had no clue that today was his birthday, but he sure enjoyed opening his presents!

Julia was a huge help decorating for the party. She blew up almost all the balloons for me (since I get out of breath easily these days).

Papaw G got Elliott his very own harmonica.

August 26

Happy Birthday to me! Clay took the day off work today because I had my 20 week ultrasound. After dropping the girls off at the bus stop and Elliott off with my friend Tracy, we headed to the doctor's office. Everything looked good with the ultrasound. The baby (we didn't find out the sex) was a wiggle worm! Clay and I went shopping and bought a baby boy and a baby girl outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital. Then we ate lunch at Cheesecake Factory before picking Elliott up and heading to Watermelon Day at school with Kat.

Funny Story:
Kat: "Happy Birthday 34 year-old!"
Clay: "I am married to an old woman."
Julia: "She's not that old!"

August 25

Nehemiah ended up spending the night last night. His baby brother was born unexpectedly with Downs Syndrome and has some health issues (including holes in his heart) and being ventilated. Please pray for him and Nehemiah's family.

Anyways, I didn't sleep AT ALL last night. Between being nervous about Nehemiah's family's sitution, our crazy AWANA night, and all the things on my "To Do List" that I can't get done because I still have two 2 year-olds in my care, I think I was too stressed out and frustrated for sleep.

After dropping the girls off at school this morning, we went to the grocery store. Now both boys are napping and I am going to try to get my house clean. Elliott's birthday party is Sunday and I need to make his cake, go to my doctor's appt tomorrow (ultrasound - yay!), go shopping for some birthday party things, as well as take the girls to 2 birthday parties on Saturday. Some time in there I need to find time to breath!

Happy 30th Birthday Uncle Bob!!!

After getting the girls off to school on the bus, Elliott, Gus, and I went for a walk. When we got home, our friend Becky called (the one we ate lunch with yesterday). She had to have an emergency c-section today and needed help with Nehemiah. I was already planning to babysit Matthew, so I figured 'Why not? If I am going to be at home with 2 almost 2-year olds, might as well be 3!' We met Becky at the hospital and she had forgotten her camera, so we loaned her ours (thus the reason for no pictures yesterday - they are still on my camera). The boys were very well behaved, but I got absolutely nothing done yesterday. Taking care of them was about all I had the energy for.

We had AWANA last night and it was chaos! We had 38 Kindergarteners and some of them were crazy. Clay is helping out in the room this year and has already said he won't do it next year! Hopefully we can get the kinks worked out. Pray for us please!!!

The 3 Stooges: Elliott (almost 2, Matthew 22 months, and Nehemiah, 21 months)

The kids ready for AWANA. Julia is in 1st grade Sparks, Kat is in Kindergarten Sparks, and Elliott is in Honeybees.

August 23

Today Elliott and I met our friends Becky and Nehemiah at Chick-Fil-A for a lunch play date. I can't post pictures because Becky has my camera (I'll share that story in tomorrow's post). We also went to the grocery store and did laundry.

August 22

This morning was Mamaw G's funeral. While the preacher was talking about her (calling her Nancy), Kat said, "Who's Nancy?". She thought her name was Mamaw- Ha! Both girls (especially Kat) have asked alot of questions about dying, death, Heaven, etc. the past few days. Kat was particularly interested in looking at Mamaw's body. She knows that Mamaw is now in Heaven, so she asked if the body was a "blow-up Mamaw".

After the service, we went to Papaw's house for lunch. The kids had fun playing with their cousins some more before they headed out of town.

And you know Papaw got out his harmonica. This time he got out enough for all the kids to play. Tylenol please!

Today was the visitation for Mamaw G. I hope the kids remember her when they grow up. She was a neat lady and will be missed.

August 20

This morning/early afternoon we went to the KY State Fair. It was alot of fun. Thankfully we had free admission tickets and brought our own lunch or we would have spent a small fortune!

Clay's family and extended family came over tonight to hang out for awhile. The kids had fun playing with their second cousins.
