Greenville/Beaufort Trip 2012

WOW!!!! It has been months since I have posted ANYTHING! I get overwhelmed because I take a billion pictures of everything we do. Then I avoid sitting down and and uploading them because I feel like I am always on the computer editing photos for everyone else (not that I am complaining because I love it!). So I decided I would NOT try and play catch up! I am just going to try and be better at this!

Here are some of the pictures from our trip. They are not in order....but I am too lazy to switch them all around.
We got to spend a week in Greenville as a family and after Craig came back to work, the kids and I went with my Mom and Tanner down to Beaufort. We were able to see a couple of family members, which was so nice, but our trip was cut short  (for a few reasons) so we weren't able to spend as much time with everyone as we would have liked to. It was still really nice to spend some time at the beach and be "home" for a couple of days.
The week that we were in Greenville, we drove up to Asheville and went through the Biltmore! It was really cool! I love the architecture and the beautiful grounds. It was amazing! We were able to walk through and it was incredible to me that this mansion was built during the Civil War times. Crazy! We took a tour and Brylee and Cole did surprisingly well! It was a lot of fun...minus the huge blisters I got on my feet from my shoes.
We went to hendersonville AKA "ghettoville" and got lunch and went to kilwin's for ice cream and fudge. We actually drove there so that we could see the historic train station...but it ended up being a train and a few drug dealers. Downtown was a lot more entertaining. Brylee LOVED the bears that were along the street.
We also spent a few days at Mom and Fred's Lake lot where they are building their lake house. It was so nice to relax and spend time on the boat. I am still upset about the fact that Craig threw me off of the jet ski while I was riding with him....I lost my brand NEW sunglasses (which I loved) and burned my leg. hhhh...I guess I'll get over it one day! ha ha No, but we had a ton of fun.
On the 4th of July, we were able to go watch fireworks on the boat over the Lake. It was one of the best 4th of Julys that I have had in years. There were people releasing floating lanterns off of the boat near us! Just like on Tangled!!! Brylee was in heaven!! The boat relaxed Cole SO MUCH! He even fell asleep a few times sitting up!
Before we left, Uncle was nice enough to drive up to the top of the mountain with me and my kids so that I could get some pictures of the mountains. We stopped at a little covered fireplace/house thing and we told Brylee it was a gnome's house! She is still convinced that the Gnome wasn't home because it was out helping the deer and the bunnies find shelter from the rain! ha ha..I love that girl!!
I always love going home! South Carolina will always feel comfortable to me! Everything tastes better there. Country music sounds better there! ....and the slow paced atmosphere makes me feel calm. I can't get enough of the accents, the big trees, the fruit stands on the side of the road, the country people sitting on the porch of the gas station that doesn't take Credit Cards, and the festivals. I better end there before I start planning my next trip back!
We are so thankful that my Mom and Fred let us come spend so much time with them! We had so many neat experiences that we will never forget!
