Cache and I had our family reunions the same week in July this year. One at Pine Lake and one at Tropic Resevoir. It was so nice to have them so close together. Cache's family put together a fun family book . Each page was about each individual family and what has happened in their lives since the last reunion. This is what ours said,
Cache, Kendra, Brock and Layla Miller
This past year has been a time of great growth and excitement for our family. We had decided we wanted a three year gap between our children and the time has came. Aug 2009 we found out we were expecting our second child. We waited till Thanksgiving and made the big surprising announcement.
In Sept. we went to Havasupai. It is an Indian Reservation in a breath taking valley of the Grand Canyon. We hiked ten miles into the campground which was surrounded by spectacular waterfalls. After two nights in the canyon hiking and exploring each one, we started the grueling accent back to our car.
We have spent a lot of time in Utah this year. Cache went hunting and tagged both a buck and spike elk, we played in the snow, went snowboarding, ice fishing and cut down our christmas tree. Brock is constantly saying he wants to go to Utah to see pa pa, shoot da gun, ride he he, go fishing and ride da sheep. These are all things that we have done this year that he has picked up on. Cache also bought a motorcycle this year and has enjoyed many hours riding it.
In Nevada we have had many outdoor outings to Mt. Charleston, Lovell Canyon, Lake Mead, Logandale trails, and the China Ranch Date Farm. We also enjoyed a couple trips to California. One to Six Flags with Kendra's family and one to San Diego Zoo with Cache's family.
The morning of May 11, 2010 Kendra's contractions began. She has had a great pregnancy with no complications and decided to have a homebirth. We didn't find out the gender of our baby and had fun playing the guessing game. The delivery went great and at 1:24 pm a beautiful baby GIRL fell into Kendra's arms. We named her Layla MayAnn Miller. May after her cousin Opal May and Ann after her aunt Amber Ann. Layla is now two months old and is sleeping through the night. She is a great baby who is constantly smiling. She loves to be cuddled and is in awe of her big brother. Brock is a big help with his little sister, he is very protective of her and runs to her side when she is crying.
Brock turned three this year. Our baby has turned into a little boy. He loves trucks, cars, guns, trains, balls and anything to do with the outdoors. This past year he was potty trained which made things much nicer for us parents. He has learned so much and is talking a lot more. We love how he answers to us when we call him, or when he explains to us what he wants. He is definitely an active little boy!
Cache continues to work in the alarm business but is looking for a new job. Kendra has been staying home with the children and has gone back to school taking a few classes. Overall we have had a great year since the last family reunion and are looking forward to this upcoming year.
