Great job guys for the blessing effort! The pictures actually tell the story of what we did. First, we started met in the lounge, and gathered for a short time of worship and prayer. We sang two songs, with Han Rong providing the music, and then Cherlyn offered us some of her special Carrefour biscuits so that none of us would eat while during the blessings. Here are the pictures from the lounge:

After that, we proceeded to the kitchen and started getting stuff prepared for the blessings. first and foremost was the testing of Julian's honey water. Everyone was so kind as to take a sip. I hope that no one gets stomachache after drinking the honey. (Don't think that Julian can cook)

After that, we started the blessings on the 3rd floor. We managed to get Andrea, Amy, Cheng Siew, Xiao Wei, Shi Wei, Wendy and Mien Hui (who later followed us around cos she's so free and got no papers :P) to come out and be blessed for their exams! Esther lead the worship for the 3rd floor.

Blessing at 3rd Floor

After the blessing at the 3rd floor, we proceeded up to the rooftop and 6th floor to combine the blessings. The support was great!

After finishing with the auntie floor, we then went down to 5th, 4th and 2nd floors. Deborah led prayer n' praise for 5th floor, YiLing for 4th floor and Julian for 2nd & 1st floors combined. May everyone get dean's list this sem ah! Whooohooo!

Worship at 4th floor

After praying for everyone in our block, we then headed back to the kitchen, to finish up the rest of the food! And guess who finished everything....

Yup, the pictures sure do tell it all don't they? All in all, a great effort by the CG, although everyone is busy preparing for their exams. Well, all the blessings will eventually come back to the blesser, so we all are blessed indeed.

Hi Everyone

Just want to clarify something which i didn't make clear during CG =)

With regards to sins and judgement, when i mentioned during the CG, how a judgement for a particular sin would be met out only from point of proclamation of the Word (through key figures in the Bible), it does not mean that judgement does not extend to non-believers.

The main point here is simple - rules are only considered broken only after rules are notified.
And further more, there's always grace period for repentance.

There are more things to it, but it's difficult for me to share a few chapters of bible study in just one paragraph.

There are many examples in the Bible, just check it out for yourselves!

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear right from the start!

Anyway, having received a very comprehensive bible study on topics like Salvation, Sin, and also Judgement etc, and also now giving bible study on some fundamental topics, I am more than willing to go through some of the materials I have with anyone who wishes to find out more, and together, we can learn more about what our life of faith is all about.
I am learning too!

Have a beautiful week ahead =)

Love,
Lingxin

Thanks for the great christmas party guys! Really was a great effort by all the members of our cell group! Anyway, here's a quick summary of what happened for those who were not able to make it for the party:

First, we started off with our favourite game (or rather, Julian's favourite game), the murderer-police-doctor-civilian game that we have been playing for the past few CG's. This time, our game took kinda long because of the large turnout, but it was so much more fun! The murderers this time around were Shi Yun and Kelvin. As usual, Esther was the main suspect, and got voted out in the first round. Luckily for her, Kuan Thye had to leave and hence managed to get Esther ressurected by giving her his life. However, that didn't help her much as she was voted out again for the 2nd time after a few more rounds. Predictably too, Faith was the first victim of the two murderers. Shi Yun was caught by policewoman Andrea after 3 rounds, but Kelvin managed to avoid identification until around 6 people were left standing, and that was after managing to survive 4 rounds of nomination!

After that, we sang Christmas carols, long-time favourites like 'Joy To The World', 'O Holy Night', 'Mary's Boy Child' and 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'. It was heartening to see that everyone joined in enthusiastically in the celebration and singing.

After singing, we started eating! Yum yum, there was egg-mayo sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, potato salad (which seriously looked like the cheesecake, until many people realised that the base was missing), 'spribena' (sprite and ribena cocktail), sotong balls, fish balls and orange nata de coco.

Here are some pics of our enthusiastic eaters:

Deborah gobbling up cake..as usual

Esther following Deb's example

lol..what can i say, act cute leh

yummy! (the cake i mean)

Took this pic of Esther when munching on the cake, so she couldn't stop me from taking it

camera shy Xinyi

Welcome to Daniel's stomach

tsk tsk..

oops..Eunice accidentally swallowed the cake before munching

Deb offering me her cake so that I would not take any more pics of her

This is Esther's 3rd piece of cake..no wonder there were so few left to go around (haha)

Deb...what are u doing?

Oh my! Esther finished the entire cake by herself. Daniel stares in shock. Eunice hangs her head in despair at Esther's gluttony

Once again, thanks too all those involved for the great party! And merry christmas everyone! Ho Ho Ho!

Love,

Julian (official photographer)

Thanksgiving:

I just ended our youth camp in church today. We had a wonderful time of sessions at the bible trail with the SYFC though I fell asleep in many of the workshops. hahaha...
Anyway last night we had a time to re-dedication for the youths, the most amazing part was that for the first time the group of youths that grew up in church that were really hard to handle esp becoz they refuse to listen and rowdy and stuff. They wanted to be prayed for. Not one of them but ALL of them (its quite a big grp). We brought them to the prayer room to pray for them and they were so filled with the spirit that they kept weeping and weeping and each one of them on their own confessed of their sins and prayed for forgiveness and for the Lord to come and clean up their lives, they also surrendered their lives to the Lord. It was amazing because they prayed with so much conviction and humilty....usually when we ask them to pray for something its usually not like that.
As we continued to pray for and with them, more and more prayers were said for forgiveness and for the group to grow together to make a 180 turn back to God. Watching them grow up in church sometimes I would say that we sometimes gave up on them. How Lord, how to help them? We were usually at wits end. Kneeling there and embracing them....i told the Lord that I see his magnificant love and grace for them and everyone else that He has been so faithful to them. I guess sometimes we encounter diffficult pple and we just wonder if God will really work thru anyone of them. Like what's the point of praying and praying when nothing seems to change? But I learnt yesterday that nothing was impossible in God's eyes. I saw it for myself, all the boys that I felt would take a big miracle or something drastic for them to turn to God (I saw that miracle last nite). There they were in the prayer room praying and earnestly seeking for forgiveness and lifting up their lives to the Lord. I think we prayed for a solid 1 to 2 hours with them.

After clearing up and emptying the trash walking back to church. It suddenly dawned on me that it was an fulfilled prayer that I had for them, in my first year of junior youth ministry I would pray for this group of boys often. but less and less over the years as disappointment in them piled up higher and higher.

It was a wonderful time of re-dedication and the show of God's power, love and grace that could pierce even the hardest heart. Is there someone you really think God cannot help, or someone you have been praying for the longest time? Take heart that the Lord does work, in his own time. The shepherd will never abandon his lost sheep.

Parable of the Lost sheep Matt 18:12-14
12"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

The Lord is faithful to his promises, pray and believe in His words and His promises. Hope this is an encouragement for many of us, persevere..God will be faithful. I pray that our cg will continue to grow to love and serve Our God more and more.

Okiez, Prayer request...
I will be leaving for Thailand tomorrow morning for mission trip.
Pray that I will refreshed for the trip, I haven been sleep well n been having very little hours of sleep. And I have a sore throat all that shouting and screaming and also feeling a cold coming up. Plus I haven prepared for devotion I am supposed to do, pray that I will have inspiration and time to do it.
Journey mercy and the usual...

Our God lives,
LW
