Progress?
It feels like we've made very little progress since my last post. We are still in the demo stage. The last couple of weeks we: removed insulation from the attic
Refinished the ceilings (not quite done),
and uncovered a chimney.
We also moved in, so now the progress will be faster.

"Demo Day!"--More like month
Here's the kitchen before. Yes, it has wood paneling.
Here's the dining room before. Notice the terrible wood paneling and low ceiling with cheap ceiling tiles.
Here's the dining room looking into the kitchen a week ago. We removed the cardboard ceiling tiles. They were covered in soot from the leaks in the chimneys. We also got rid of the wood paneling. Yay!
Here's the dining room now. Above the lower ceiling are these beautiful, tall ceilings that we are going to restore!
Here's a gem that we found: our bathtub.
Before: ugly, boring tub.
After: a beautiful claw foot tub.

New House
We bought a new house on May 2.
It's in Zebulon, NC, which has about 6,000 people. The house was originally built in 1900, but was remodeled in the 1960s. There's a lot of Old World charm, but needs a lot of work to remove some of the remodeling from the 1960s: such as removing the wood paneling (yuck). Here are some pictures of the inside.
Entrance or "parlor". We have three mantels.
Bedroom
Master bedroom
Master bathroom. Needs lots of work.
I will be posting the progress of the renovations on this blog. To start, on Saturday, Daryl started powerwashing the house. It was so dirty! I don't think it's been washed for 4 years.
In this picture, you can see the difference the powerwashing did.
