I'm thankful for many things....

With the current economic times, I've been busy making a living which has left me with very little time for "life". But to make up for the many days I have lost, here goes...

I'm thankful for a job that I love...(probably mentioned this before..)
I'm thankful for a reliable vehicle which gets me to & from work (but it has been in the shop, the 2008 loaner was great!)
I'm thankful for Costco's Roasted Chicken which we just ate for dinner (a quick zap in the microwave & walah...dinner is served!)
I'm thankful for a husband that has allowed me to indulge is pretty "fru~fru" bedding...I've been waiting a long time to find just the right duvet cover & shams...found a gorgeous "green pear" colored collection @ Macy's (on sale of course!)
I'm thankful for the beautiful leaves we are still enjoying so late in Novemeber...bright reds & yellows....
I'm thankful for my favorite household tool, the TURBO charged leaf blower! (I love being outside & in the stroke of my arm, the leaves move!)

And I'm thankful to have a few brief moments to post my thankfulness !!!

Happy Veteran's Day to all those who have served our country! I would especially like to thank my father, John, a WW II Veteran who served in the Invasion of Normandy & my husband, Buzz, a Vietnam Veteran. Both proudly & selflessly served our country to protect our freedoms as well as others. Thank you for your bravery & service.....

November 10th

I'm thankful for heated car seats (I'm sooo spoiled!). It was a cool 40 degrees this AM & about the same tonight when I left work. My car seat is heated all the way up the back so I feel like I'm laying on a hot beach on a cold day. It is especially helpful on those days when I've been heaving my patients up in their beds.... It is a perfect way to relax those tight & sore muscles at the end of a long day....

November 9th

I'm grateful for the counsel of wonderful, loving friends. For their courage to be obedient & be an example. As my good friend Sarah provided a very moving & much need lesson in RS, I felt truly radiant with the love & knowledge that the best is yet to come. Trials, problems & devastation may occur, but we will never be left alone & nothing can bring more peace than obedience. Sarah, thank YOU for your loving example of compassion, kindness & endless service. I heart Sarah!!
(if this post seems cryptic, sorry, you had to be there...)

Today I'm thankful for the individuals who fight to overcome disease's of this modern world & those individuals who care for those with illness. Today I took care a women with "organic brain disease"....very similar to Alzheimer's but can often happen in the younger population. This was particular scary for me as my Mom had Alzheimer's disease for almost 14 loooong years. It was so painful to watch my Mother, who was extremely independent, thoughtful & bright become a shell of herself. Mom did not know she had children & one time when she asked if she every had children & I said "yes, you had a girl & a boy, I'm your daughter"...well, she started to cry, she asked "did I remember them at their birthdays?". Ever mindful of another's feelings & needs.
So as I cared for this woman, I learned her son had moved back to the area to care for his mother.
I am grateful for the selfless acts of kindness shown by those who care for others.
