RAIN, RAIN, RAIN

A perfect day for stitching ~ but not one cross completed yet!
DH and I decided to go furniture shopping today and SO DID EVERYONE ELSE - busy busy at the furniture store but decision made so looking forward to a delivery of a new oak dining table, chairs and sideboard in the next few weeks.

Time to upload a couple of pics: this was my Christmas project whilst away on holiday in Northumberland near Alnwick - only a small design but fits into a Christmas tuck-away pillow so will be out on display next year ~ it's a mini cross stitch kit by DMC and features Ramond Briggs Father Christmas

Early January all the white fluffy stuff arrived so decided project #2 should be relevant so here's The Mitten Collector designed by Diane Arthurs for Imaginating, Inc.  I stitched it on 14-count Smoketone Aida and the handmade Mitten Button (the letter O) came with the kit.  The overall size of the fabric was fairly large so have enough fabric surrounding the design to turn it into a cushion, think I'll add a Christmas themed fabric and do a simple envelope opening!

My current project is Noah's Ark by HeartStrings and with the current weather conditions seems to be very relevant too!  I love Sundays ~ the family are all together, roast dinner tonight and then hopefully some stitching ......

3, 2, 1 ~ HERE WE GO ............

My 1st post and I'm a complete novice so hope I get it right!
I've been logging in to so many of you regular bloggers that share my love of cross stitch and sewing and have really enjoyed reading all your news and seeing your photos of all the lovely things you stitch so decided to join in and with a lot of help from my 12yr old son (a techno expert already!) I am now up and running.

I have been cross stitching for the last 16 years (gosh!) and it is my relaxation and 'me time' at the end of the day when my gang of three have climbed the stairs and left me and DH in peace. I keep an ever-growing stash of charts, fabrics, threads and kits which will probably never see the light of day but I'll keep them, you know, just in case .......

I have finished two projects since a very Snowy Christmas and hope to upload pics of them soon. I am busy on the third project now (one from the bottom of the box of stash!!) so with a spare hour right now I'm off to do a bit more ........
