I think I'll always be

a girl within. This MV simply shows it all. GIRLY. :) I'm supposed to be boosting my vocab now... But MJ and this got in the way. :P

I can so relate to my students. Tee hee!

Power of Words

If there was any impression that this lecturer left in us, it would be these words of power; words that have been effectively used to make a difference.

How I wish you were mine.

This is something that I fell in love with at first sight. Splash of vibrant colours scream summer, as it reflects my holiday mood. Sadly, it'll be such great injustice if I'd bought it.

Its hem falls say 2-3 inches below my knee, with me looking short and (eeeew!) fat in it. Major sigh. Simply throw on a bolero and you're ready to go. Anywhere! I could wear this for attachment, classes, shopping, church, hangouts, blah blah blah. I guess it's more wise to get something that emphasises my strengths than weaknesses.

sabotuer

One portion of my hols were spent fellowshiping with my dear churchies, whom I haven't spent much time with due to my insane schedules. Really enjoyed myself with the youths and friends, letting my hair down till the end of good days draws near.

One game we played was Sabotuer, a card game which works something like the polar bear game. Players pick a role card, which one could either be the minner or the sabotuer. The goal of a minner would be to place "path" cards which lead to the gold, and the sabotuer, of course, to disrupt their plans with the help of block cards, or simply changing their routes with "path" cards. An essential would be the ability to put up a poker face. Though, no matter how I tried to keep a poker face, my siblings could read me like a book. Sigh. Like they'd keep it a secret. Once they've hit the nail on the head, they'll make it known to everyone, so that I'll be blocked. Once a player is blocked, he/she has to miss a turn until someone on your side unblocks you with the respective unblock card.

Still, the cheers, screams and laughter explained how fun it was. :)

For a clearer explanation of Sabotuer, you may wish to visit boardgamegeek.

Miss Post-It

People who know me well enough would have known my ability to remember appointments and deadlines... Not surprising, post-its have became one of my best friends throughout my hectic semesters. Here's something conjured by Bang-yao Liu, featuring the thoughts within us, and my best friend.

By the way, Batam was superb! :) It's great catching up with girlfriends, talking about anything beneath the sky.

My favourite things

Dr W was surprised that no one (at least, I didn't see any hands up) knew about this song, but it's been on my head ever since I've watched it. Yes, that's the song we've analysed during the lecture, remember? :)

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Julie Andrew has such a splendid voice! I'll be contented to be half as talented as her. I thought she reminded me of the barbies I used to own; such exquisite features on that perfect face. Doe-eyed, sharp nose, sweet smile. What's not to like?

For a clearance product at $6.95, it's worth every single cent I paid. I should keep my eyes peeled for clearance classic shows. H says that Mary Poppin is equally good. Let me know if you see it on clearance! :D

this and that

Argh! A faulty doorbell caused me to miss a parcel. That means I've got to wait an additional day for my tailored skirt. (Then again, tomorrow is here. That means, few hours away :P )

Hopefully ilovemyskirt will have fabrics similar to this:

With bright and cheerful skirts this season, that gives me an excuse to stock up on plain coloured tanks. Especially in white.

Moving on, this is soooo graniph.

Though, I don't quite recall graniph carrying tanks like these.

To-do List
- Collect my parcel from the post office (ASAP!)
- Meet the girls for museum trip
- Write in notebook
- Plan Sunday School lesson (ASAP!)
- Watch a movie
- Buy a second-hand book (and read it)
- Swim

Ta!

Everything beneath my sky

It's a place that we visit each time we get to use the car. We love the serenity as we sit by the road,

where no vehicles go zoom zoom. It's indeed, my ah gong's road :)

Being a city with homes and offices in the air, to see the sun in it's full glory is a rarity. Either we're super blessed every time we are there - for we've always captured this with our mere phone cameras, or God has created a scenic place as such for weary people to relax.

Thank God!

We would sit by the ledge, perspiring like a mad dog with ample breeze and food, and we'll chat will the cows come home. We are farmers, you see.

Hope to see you soon, Upper Pierce Reservoir!

and you too!

Parting words... The beauty of nature never fails to remind me how great God is!

Keep on swimming

Keep on swimming, keep on swimming, keep on swimming...

They swam; we watched. Little captures. They were simply gliding through the water as a bird would in the sky. This is an understatement as to what caught my eye that day.

It's so so cute! Thank God that they were safely tucked in a tank before my naughty hands could reach them. Little wonder that our Underwater World is a hot favourite among those who visit Sentosa. The effort to replicate their natural homes and/or highlight their beauty is indisputable.

These three were lazing near the sign that indicates "hot spot for pictures" (or something along those lines). Yes, not moving! Or else, there's no way my pathetic phone camera would capture any of those fast creatures.

Final verdict: It's an attraction that you should visit if
1) You adore animals.
2) You have a love for fishes.
3) You'd like to see a good replication of Nemo's world.
4) You'd like to display your phototaking skills (with a pro camera, no less)

Keep on swimming!

i love my skirt

I simply couldn't resist a deal of custom-made skirts going at $25.00 (inclusive of normal postage) so this was what I just purchased.

Isn't it pretttttty? Can't wait!
