Cruisin wit da boyz

After a year and a half of separation, we finally got to see Hans and Reezie again!  We played all morning in the bounce house, out on the play ground, and up in the bonus room.  Right before the departed, we got out our coolest toy - the Barbie Jeep - and the boyz went nuts.  Hans was at the wheel and was quit reckless.  We had the best time!  Can't wait to see them again on their way back from West Virginia.  And again this upcoming summer for our vacation in Destin, Florida!

Happy Halloween!

This year, dressed as Belle and Cinderella, we begged to trick-or-treat with our best friends Elle and Emri (aka, Daphne and Arial).  We raced from door to door and new exactly what to do.  Accept for Lila, that is, who struggled to keep up with the "big" kids, preferring to be carried from door to door.   She may have had a good excuse, though, since she was out sick that day due to a mild case of strep.  We didn't want the evening to end so all the girls returned to the Wright house for hot chocolate.  Which was barely drank because as soon as the moms walked away the kids were off to play!

Honey Suckle Pumpkin Patch

One of the many fun things we did in October was go to Honey Suckle Farms Pumpkin Patch in Springfield, TN.   Even though it was very crowded, we had a great time and spent several hours exploring all the activities.  They had lots of playgrounds, a sand pit for digging, a "corn popper" for jumping, a hay ride, and a rock mining stream. The last time we were at this patch was when Lila was only a month old and we went with the Lassiter's.  That was a fun time, too!

Lila's 4th birthday in Atlanta, GA

On Septmeber 22, your 4th birthday Lila, we went to the American Girl Store in Atlanta.  You had been begging to stay in a hotel again since our looooooong trip (drive) to Maine last Christmas.  And it has always been my dream to take you girls to the American Girl store.  So our dreams finally came true.  Ha!  We were all overwhelmed by everything there was to buy.  And you guys (well, Ava that is) wanted it all.  Ava ended up with as much as you Lila.  We just bought each of you similar items.  You played with the dolls and their accessories all weekend.  (We didn't buy dolls since Ava had my old Samantha doll and Lila had a Bitty Baby twin.)  You guys haven't picked them up since so it's a good thing we didn't spend $105 each on a doll.  But alas a fun weekend was had by all.   We even got to spend time with Uncle Troy, Aunt Catherine and cousins Gavin and Landon.  They celebrated both you and Landon's September birthdays with cake, presents, and a giant bounce house!!!

Our sweet angel "baby" turns 4!

Here we are four years later and I finally decide to return to blogging.  It's been a crazy four years and I wish I had kept up with this blog better but what can you do when you are trying to keep up with a new born baby/todder/preschooler/grade schooler.  Seems things have settled down a bit so I am just going to start from Lila's 4th birthday party at our house on September 16th.  Maybe one day I will finish scrapbooks of her birth through four years!  And Ava, well, atleast you've got a blog on your first three years.  Which I actually just published and will present to you on your 7th birthday in a few weeks!  That actually inspired me to return to blogging your lives.  A nice book to have each year on your birthday as a year in review.  Now if I can just keep it short and simple, maybe I will post our lives regularly...

Our sweet, angel baby

Family photos

We had our first professional family pictures taken in August while I was 8 months pregnant with Lila. Here are a few of my favorites...

Lila Anne finally arrives!!!

Our beautiful, tiny baby girl finally arrived (without induction) on September 22 at 4:15 am, 6 days past her estimated due date, weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces, 20 inches in length. Lila entered the world bright eyed and very alert. Since her arrival she has proved to be quite an angel baby as she is an excellent eater, sleeper, and rarely cries!!! Mommy and Daddy are still in shock at how peaceful and content a newborn baby can be. Ava has adjusted better than expected as well, as she strives to be gentle with her new baby sister. She shows brief bouts of curiosity with Lila, and then is off to the make believe world she has recently discovered. Our family now feels complete with two adorable little girls!!!

A few of my favorites things...

Goldfish, always a tasty snack in the middle of the day.
Haagen Dazs bars - so scrumptious once I got started, I wouldn't let Mommy have even a tiny little bite. I ate the whole thing "all by myself!"
Swimming in the big pool with Daddy!!!
My new bedroom - even though I havn't been brave enough to sleep in my new bunk bed.

"I fingerpaint, Mommy!"

Who needs fingerpaints when markers work just fine. Fortunately for Mommy, these are washable markers. Now Mommy's on the hunt for real finger paint and maybe even an easel set.

Buddies

Pawpaw and Daddy put together a swing set for me and I LOVE IT!!!! Here Elle and I are practicing our swinging skills on the horse. Elle's my good buddy who lives across the backyard from me. She's 10 months my junior and will turn two this month.

Mommy and I went to Nashville for a playdate today and we had sooooo much fun! I got to play with Adeline who turns 3 this month. She has 4 month old twin sisters named Beatrice "B" and Evelyn "Evie." Her mommy and my mommy went to high school together. I can't wait to visit them again!

Summertime!!!

Hurray - it's finally summer which means Mommy is off until August!!! We will spend the summer camped out at a pool or indoors (avoiding the heat) somewhere. I love the pool at Fairview; Mommy and "Aunt" Rachel love the virgin pina coladas.

She is beautiful and we are so excited for her proud parents and older sister who got to meet her a week early! Aunt Rachel is only 8 weeks away from meeting her 2nd baby boy. It's a Girl!

Hurray!!! We had our 2nd ultra sound visit at 18 weeks on Thursday and discovered we are going to have another baby girl!!!! I am so thrilled as this is secretly what I desired; although I was totally psyched up to take care of a sweet little Momma's boy. In fact I was so confident I was having a boy, Dustin and I made a bet that if I was right he would have to put Ava to bed all next week while I got to kick back and relax (we usually alternate nights since it gives one of us some much craved downtime as Ava only sleeps about 9 hours a night).

Now for the photos. I typically have too much pride to display such awful family photos - but for the following reasons I thought it would make for an enjoyable blog: (1) I had visions of a taking a nice family photo to post in celebration of finding the sex of our baby - and this is all we got, (2) I'm finding it way to humorous not to share how this family struggles behind the camera, and (3) It's 3 o'clock in the morning and I can't sleep because I caved in and took a Clariten D so I could finally breath out my nose - knowing I wouldn't be able to sleep all night and feeling guilty about taking a medication even though its considered "safe during pregnancy."
