Bath Crayons

Maggie got these really cool crayons in her stocking:

I recomend them.  They wipe off, super easy.  But unlike the soap crayons, they don't just wash off.  In fact, Landen was drawing on the floor of the tub.... yeah like under the water with them. Pretty Cool, eh?   I have no clue what they have in them, all they say is "nontoxic" so, yeah.

Maggie had the pink crayon. She thought this was pretty cool.  She kept coloring when Landen would erase hers and kept laughing.

Landen had the blue one and had way to much fun.

Score Santa!  It's amazing how much simple things entertain!!

Landen's Bored.

I must share this conversation I had with Landen

Landen: What am I going to do today?
Me: Why don't you play with your toys for a minute while I get this done and then we'll get something out.
Landen: Umm..No. What am I going to do today? (this is how he says,"I'm bored.")
Me: Well, I'm sure I could come up with a chore for you.
Landen: Yeah!  Can I wash walls? Please mom?

I am totally serious.

Where have all the Snowflakes Gone?

We went to WalMart last week.  It was raining, pouring really.  The weather man said it was suppose to snow, but he was dead wrong.  So, WalMart had this sign out and it said something like, "For Lack of Snow, 50% of all shovels, sleds, snowboots and scrappers  On This Table Only."  Ha!!  I mean, it is JANUARY in IDAHO and it SHOULD be snowing.  They probably thought we were crazy buying a sled, but hey, 50% off!!

Do you think it a lack of snow to stop my kids?  Hardly!  Because we buy John Deere Tractors, and they can pull anything! Including a sister in the wrong 1:16 ratio. We like to stay in our PJ until like 9 am, so it's not like this was a noon or anything....

They did want to go out and play, so we did. In our snow suits, because it was cold, even though there was no snow.  Don't you just love my pink marshmallow?!

We really stuck it to the man, because on Monday is really did snow!!  Landen and Maggie begged Dad all morning for to go sledding and once we got a little break they went out.   Isn't it great to see Michael fulfilling his role as breadwinner while fulfilling it as father?!  He can make deals on he phone and pull his kids around.  I love that man.

They loved the sled.   Maggie especially, but she loves the wagon, so it was pretty much a given.

Then Maggie wants to swing.  Don't ask me why she wants to swing when it's 33 degrees out, but she does.

Landen built a snowman with Dad while Maggie sat in the swing.  He wanted me to take a picture.  When I said, "Smile," The cheeseball started dancing....

There you go.  A real smile. Mostly.

Too bad he melted.
Don't tell Landen, I don't think he noticed yet.
We made snowmen at storytime today.  He talked about his the whole time.  Then we ran a bunch of errands and he forgot.  It might traumatize him when he realize that his snowman melted.

Idaho Ag Expo

We like going to the Idaho Ag Expo.  I mean, tractors to climb in, lots of free candy and people to talk to about Agriculture.... why wouldn't my boys love it?

Michael took Maggie in the tractor.  We think she thinks she's afraid of heights.  She got all panicky and held on way too tight.  See? Totally unhappy.  But when we were at John Deere, no problem.

I actually only took these 2 photos.  Landen wanted one by the giant potato.  He wanted to show Grandma, so Grandma, here is a giant potato.  We should mention it's not actually real. That would be weird.

Have you ever heard of moon dough? Or Moon Sand?  How about Cloud Dough?   It's pathetically easy... 4 cups regular flour and 1/2 cup of baby/mineral oil.  Mix it up and you get super soft stuff that molds like beach sand.  It vacuums easily.  Oh, and don't eat it.
I think Landen played in this stuff for about 6 hours in 2 days.  Then it got taken away because he wouldn't go to Sunbeams.

He sat in the foyer,on the chair for all of Sunday School. Michael got him to go class the last 10 minutes or so.  He just decided he did not want to go.   He does like Sunbeams, and he has an awesome teacher, he just doesn't like the act of going.   Crazy child.

Talking of crazy children.... This one would not eat the mango I sliced up for her, but insisted on eating the pit.  She can stick it about half of it in her mouth at one time.  She likes to stuff her mouth and has little to no gag reflex.  It's crazy what she can get into it.

Christmas 2011

Hey Y'All!   So, to quickly summarize our fun vacation:
We left before Christmas and drove, yes drove across the country to have Christmas with Michael's family.   It took 3 days.   We were hoping for 2 1/2, but we had a bad night the first night and Michael and I were just to tired to drive anymore.

We arrived just in time to enjoy all the Christmas festivities and stayed through New Years. We had Parties and played Pounce. We visited Grandma (and she was so happy to see Michael she cried.) and my cousin Serina.  The boys sufficient harasses John Wayne.  We watched the Packer's Game.  We made Stollen and painted cookies.  We visited the Kids Commons too.  Michael and I went on a lunch date and went to the Cummins Headquarters and Power Store and then to a museum/fountain restaurant.  We also went to the Louisville Temple.  In 10 days, we were busy!

It was great to see family, have lots of babysitters, lots of things to keep us busy and the kids loved it.  Landen would tell me at night, "Mom, I like the Busselbergs."  He still tells, "Remember When we Went to Busselbergs and Santa Claus Came?"

Yep. Still Remember.

We headed home, and stopped at the John Deere Headquarters. Landen keep telling me, "Mom, I wish I could have a combine like that at my house." haha. Wouldn't that make a toy!  We made it home in 2 very long days.  And it seems like we've just got settled back into our routine.
