Kids Activities

Will participated in his second year of baseball this spring. I don't know that he loves it, but we will keep trying until he says he's done.

He has been doing awesome in karate! He has already advanced to a yellow belt (3rd level) since January.

My friend Jessica is a music teacher and she is starting a Mommy and Me music program that Elliette and I participated in many times. She really enjoyed it! We sang along, played with instruments, and danced with scarves.

It is so fun to watch these kiddo's personalities develop as well as their interests!

1st Haircut

It was time to cut off the long beautiful hair I had prayed for!! Elliettes hair was SO long! Here is a pic from about 2 weeks ago:

And here was the first cut! She fussed at the beginning getting in the chair and capes on, but the magic of YouTube distracted her during the scissor part.

From Sweet to Sassy

Elliette... Sweet Elliette. We love you. We love you immensely, even though some days are a little tough. This set of photos will give you her full range of emotions; from sweet to sassy!!

And my favorite camera selfie game:

Farmers

B.K. (Before kids) Dave had time to make wine and he really enjoyed it and got quite good. We haven't had the time to devote to it lately but we try to squeeze some attention into it when we can!

Dave has a buddy who grows grapes about an hour away and he took the kids out there to see the vines this summer.

My mom found a grape press for Dave and he jumped right in to pressing a batch of grapes (he has Vignoles that grow at his office.)

By some miracle of miracles we have banana pepper plants that are producing like Jesus produced fish and loaves to feed 5,000 people. It. Is. Crazy.

One picking:

A second picking:

Just another day at The Burris Abkde:

I'm thinking we will be able to go off the grid soon :)

One big ol' summer post

I need space on my phone and must get rid of pictures. Therefore; I must blog. Here we go! (We had a pretty cool and rainy June so yes- the outfits don't look like normal summer outfits!)

We spent many hours hanging with friends, especially our next door neighbors:

Summer is also a great time to see friends we don't get to see very often, too!

We have picnicked:

We walked on the trails:

We spent many hours on the square eating, biking, listening to live music, and attending various events:

And we have done a lot of good old fashioned fun in the yard, too!

So many memories!!!! We had a great summer.
