Our Museum

I have to pinch myself all the time that one of the WORLD's top ten museums is 3 minutes from my house. We go almost every weekend with the kids. It's free to go so by wouldn't we?

This is the beautiful 10 foot heart by Jeff Koons that hangs in the restaurant:

There was an awesome exhibit a few weeks ago called "State of the Art." It was 200 up and coming artists from around the U.S.

Delia Martin: beautiful printmaking/drawing artist:

Yarn around combs (color study) that inspired my to do something similar with my students:

A room made of Mylar that inflated and deflated with an air system:

Elliette and I looking out onto the water:

There are great activities for kids all the time.

We love love love this amazing place!

Will at school

Will is having an awesome year in kindergarten! Here a few pictures his teacher has sent lately. These are from his 100th Day of School celebration.

Snow Days in February

We had 2 snow days earlier this month. Dave stayed home one day and the second I had both kids myself. We actually had two fabulous days. I know my Iowa family will be appalled at what we get called off for in terms of amounts, but we actually get lots of ice and it is very hilly where we live.

The boys played on the Kinext for a while :)

The kids are great about snuggling together to watch some cartoons on the iPad:

And of course- we played in the snow!  And when I say "we" I mean Dave and the kids ;)

We napped together:

We did escape one right to go for Mexican. We have a delicious restaurant two blocks from our house and it was essentially empty when we went. The kids were climbing around from booth to booth and I caught this picture. This is perhaps my favorite picture of Elliette in recent history. This is HER. So many times I feel like pictures don't look like my kids, but this one totally captures her perfectly. I also think it captures her little personality as well. Oh my. This girl...

January

January has come and gone and we just keep trucking along. We've had some fun days, some lazy days, some warm days, and some cold days.

The kids are playing together so well.

Even in weird places like cabinets...

And showers...

We made a trip to Kansas City to visit Uncle Steven.

We continue to love days where we stay in pjs all day :)

Elliette is growing every day. This day she was able to figure out some Perfection game pieces and even put in many by herself!

We go for ice cream downtown pretty frequently as its one minute from our house and open until 9pm!

Hopefully I can get another post or two done before the end of the month!!
