Saturday = Birthday!

It is birthday season yet again. Because of the way Will’s school classes are made based on age- all the kids are born within about 12 weeks of each other. So we have been at several parties lately and it has been nice to have something fun for the whole family to do.

On Saturday Will and I attended Tucker’s Play Doh party.

After a brief nap we were off to Brighton’s party at The Little Gym. This was the first time we’ve been to this place where Will REALLY participated and enjoyed himself. It was super fun to watch him running around and playing.

Whew- are you worn out yet? We sure were, but it was SO much fun to play with two very special friends!

Backyard in the Winter

Who says you can’t play outside in January? We are having such a mild winter and I am so, so thankful because if you know me at all you know that I HATE the cold and snow. I don’t even like 5 minutes in anything under 60 degrees, but somehow Dave managed to pull me outside for some family time the other day. I don’t know the actual temp this day- certainly it was below 60, but not freezing, either.

We had hot chocolate and s’mores by the fire. And pop tarts.

Yum!

We got Will a swing for Christmas and have a big tree in the backyard of the rental house to put it on. Please disregard the overgrown and poorly kept yard. Again, rental house.

When Dave pulls him really far up and gets ready to release him Will always squints his eyes shut- hilarious!

And after all that fresh air what’s better than a winter’s nap in a big, cozy bed? (ours, not his)

Snails Pace

Dave and I feel like this first leg of our building process is moving at a snails pace. While we're appreciative that the people we've hired are taking their job very seriously and working methodically and meticulously... SHEESH! Let's see a house already! The excavation and footings are happening now and you won't be able to tell much from the pictures, but I'm posting anyway.

Will wanted to take a picture, too. His view from the back seat:

Dave got out and did a little work- ok- a LOT of work today with a jack hammer trying to break up footings from a previous house on the property. He is One. Sore. Boy.
