Red & White Game

On Sunday the three of us joined my in-laws and Meme at an exhibition basketball game for the Razorbacks in Fayetteville. Will was transfixed on the Boss Hog (a 10 foot tall inflatable Razorback). He wanted to go closer to see him. You can see Dave’s head in this picture just to the left of Boss and the U-shaped bar.

Boss Hog is pretty impressive close up!

Will was too shy to take a picture with him but Dave snapped a few of him as he looked up at Boss. What a cutie!!

When he witnessed his first Hog Call he got a little shy and wouldn’t participate. Maybe he was embarrassed for the rest of us? Winking smile

I was totally impressed with how well he did at the stadium. As long as I can guarantee that Boss will be in plain view for an entire game and the cheerleaders dance at a time out every 2 minutes I may just take him back for a real game!

Cows & Cookies

Two weekends ago my parents were here visiting. Will and Gamma and I took a walk and the cattle must have sensed that a farm girl was near because all of the babies were up at the fence following them! Or maybe it was W's bicycle helmet. Who knows. It was funny, though to see about 12 cows just trailing along after the two of them!

Ok... enough of that. This is creepy!

Gamma brought the famous sugar cookies per her grandson's request. Will had asked to call her about a week before they came and asked for her to bring cookies. Too funny! I know she ate that up :) So she delivered little pumpkin sugar cookies and W helped her frost.

Papa got some quality time in, too. What’s a good Dr. Suess book without a Cat in the Hat hat?

Will has been reading that book several times daily since he got them. He can now finish phrases so it’s like he’s “reading” every other page—I LOVE it!!

Car Seat photo shoot

Dave ran into a store earlier for one thing and Will and I stayed in the car. To entertain him (and myself) I grabbed the camera and started snapping.

Crawly Caterpillar

About a week ago we were driving on some backroads through town (stoplights and traffic bug my husband!) and suddenly he stopped the car and put it in park. He got out, went to the front, bent down, then got back in the car. He had rescued a caterpillar. Guess who’s job it was to hold the caterpillar until a safer place? Not the driver. Not the two year old. Me. Ew. I let him crawl all over my hands even though I was super grossed out at how they were sticking and prickling me *shudder*. We took him to Dave’s office and Will brought him in the back yard to play.

Then Will took him to crawl around in the chicken house (yes, you read that correctly, and if you want it come haul it away!)

Will was explaining that the caterpillar was going to crawl “way up der”

I love my boys; the little one for his fearlessness and curiosity and my big one for saving an creature in danger. But really.

Impromptu Photos

The other day the three of us were out shopping. It was after church and I thought Will looked especially handsome in the shirt Ms. Emily gave him. I thought I would have him sit outside the store we were walking into and take a picture to text and thank her! I thought the photo was pretty great for being an iPhone photo so I then had Dave sit next to him. I’m pretty in love with the photos I took spontaneously!

While we were in the store I took a picture, too. We were in Academy of Sports… if you couldn’t tell…

First Tailgate

I’m a little behind on a few stories. This was actually from 2 weeks ago when Will attended his first Razorback tailgate! We didn’t go to the game but we tailgated for about 2 hours with Dave’s parents. When we arrived Glenda had an amazing array of food for us to munch on!

He got a new t-shirt for the even and loved pointing out his Razorback.

He also got a new camp chair that he absolutely adored!

IMG_1527

We had brought several games to play. We thought keeping him in one area of a crowded parking lot would be difficult but he actually did really well.

The weather couldn’t have been prettier and we were at the top of Razorback Road and could see the rolling hills south of campus. These pictures do the view no justice at all.

Looking west we had a pretty cool view- great parking pass, eh?

Dave and Will watched as the bus of cheerleaders drove by. Insert your own captions : )

Will also tried his own hand at entertainment. He got some big attention from some ladies at a nearby food stand! Oh boy.

The three of us left right before the game started. We had parked our own car across campus and chose to do the long hike since is was so beautiful. Once we got through the crowd of crazies it was lovely to walk around Old Main.

Oh sweet little boy- how cute you look in Razorback land!
