1st Bike

I had seen a very cool bike several months ago and it has been on my mind for Will. I just knew he would do great with this. It’s called a Strider bike and it is a training bike for toddlers. The cool thing about it is that it has no pedals. How is that cool you ask? Well, it is teaching our son balance! I can remember learning to ride my bike while my dad ran along behind me holding my bike seat for what I’m sure was hours on end. So now he is learning to balance and when he’s physically big enough for a big boy bike he won’t need training wheels! (or his parents breaking their backs to hold the back of his bike!)

He was SO excited when we went to the store to buy it. He was riding around as I paid.

Gigi's Birthday

We went to Dave’s parent’s house last week to help his mom celebrate her birthday. Will treated her by doing her chores for her:

He was a teensy bit excited about the “party cake”

So we let him try a little icing…

Mmm!

Green icing will do some funny things to your tongue!

We asked Paul and Glenda to keep an eye out for some dress up clothes since it is one of his favorite activities at school. This time of year is great for finding costumes! Check out what they found:

Complete with a tail:

We got a little bit of dinner in him, but of course, he was waiting for the party cake and ice cream. We sung to Gigi, but Will took over the candle blowing duties. When he finished what was on his plate, he dug into the carton for more!

After that we packed up to leave and while we were saying goodbye Will spotted a bug crawling on Poppy’s fountain. He was VERY worried about the bug getting wet.

Will gave his grandmother a hug… but kept an eye on the bug in danger!

I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Glenda!

Happy Birthday Song

This is to go along with the last post. He repeats the "happy birthday to Gigi" a FEW extra times...

Blog Smarter, Not Harder

So while I have a love-hate relationship with blogging, in the end I am always glad I do it. I love ordering my book once a year and having so many stories and pictures from the past 52 weeks. I think this will be really special for Will to have.

So my friend Sarah shared a tool to make blogging easier- and I'm all for that! It seems my spare time is less and less these days. The tool is called Windows Live Writer and it is truly wonderful. It uploads the photos in 2 seconds and you can re-size them by just dragging the corner. It uploads right to the blog you already have set up. It was a bit of pain to first figure out the website, but now that I've got it down it is pretty slick. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with everything and share with you! I hope you find this helpful if you're a Blogger as well!

Gymboree Birthday!

Our adorable friend Kayla Grace turned two last week and invited us to Gymboree for a birthday party! Will was SO excited to buy her a gift. I told him what we were going to buy as we went to the store several days ago and his face lit up. He helped get it off the shelf and carry it out of the store. Unfortunately, he was a little tired as he had not had a nap on Saturday so it wasn’t quite the magical day I had hoped for, but the party was great anyway!

Will super enjoyed the music parade (I swear we’ve got a musician on our hands- he loves instruments!)

Love the next picture… sooooo Will:

He marched around clanging that cowbell like there was no tomorrow. I was happy when the cowbell time was done… but he was not.

The parachute was a pretty good distraction, though.

So then it was time for some cake. My sweet baby has never been a fan of eating and touching messy foods with his hands so he solved the cupcake problem pretty creatively:

Kayla Grace got a little scared when everyone started singing Sad smile

After the no nap, the multiple meltdowns, and then the sugar-y cupcake we thought it was better to leave on a good note. We gathered up our disheveled little buddy and headed home. It was fun, though to play in such a kid-friendly place and see so many friends at once. Thanks to Shannon for such a cute party!
