Weekend Hide-away

So Thursday night came around and Dave and I decided we had had a tough week already. I was slightly insistent that we go away for the weekend and turn off the phones and hide from the world for a while. On Friday, Dave made a phone call to a client of his who has a cabin just across the border- about 30 minutes north. She said we were welcome to the house and all that was in it- I could hardly wait for that 3:00 bell to ring!!! We loaded up the coolers, the dog, and an overnight bag...okay, maybe 6...and off we went. Here is the lovely home we spent Friday and Saturday night in.



Notice the lack of neighbors- we saw no one for 36 hours! We had this private beach a short walk down the drive from us.



The "cabin" as the owner called it- was to us anything but (lets just say we packed our own toilet paper, just in case). We were pleasantly surprised to walk into a newly constructed, well done home.




We napped out on this porch Saturday morning during a rain storm...


Grace turned out to be quite the little water dog.




We kayaked a bit on Saturday, although I didn't take a camera with us. How did we get the kayaks from the house down to the river...?


I spent some hours reading...



Dave spent some time painting...



...and the evenings were spent watching the campfire.



We're both feeling relazed, refreshed, and ready to start a new week.

My home away from home

I thought I would share a few pictures of the place I spend 8 hours each day. (Besides, my room won't stay this clean & organized for long!)





And THIS is my new best friend- my new projector is a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!!!

1st day!

So some things never change. Do you remember how your mom used to take pictures on your 1st day of school every year? Well, my mom wasn't here and my beloved was still in bed so I had to make do...



Yep. I'm a nerd.

Well I've been back doing school stuff this week so my summer life is coming to an end. Therefore, I don't have too many interesting pictures from the week to share. This was the only time the camera was used in the last week- a capture only a momma could love!

Wavin' the white flag!!!

Well I've been getting a lot of grief about how long it's taking to post the pictures from last week's photo shoot. How can I explain the time it takes to go through and edit 500 pictures?!? It's like watching the grass grow. Well, not really- it's WAY more fun, but just as time consuming. Hopefully I can have the rest done by next week sometime. My staff development classes start on Tuesday and I would like to be done before then! SO...for all of you impatient waiters...here are few tesers.
