Wedding Bells (at looong last!)

Ok, the title is due to two things: One, I have delayed posting this until all 692 photos were looked through, analyzed, and possibly edited. Two, this bride and groom have been dating since our wedding, which AS YOU MAY RECALL was five years ago! (In fact, here is a picture from our reception-)

Nonetheless, I am happily posting images of the happy event now.

.

Then we meandered into the reception! The head table:

A lovely idea- wedding pictures of their parents and grandparents:

Here is one of the best reception ideas I have ever seen- they rented a photo booth and had it on site. Next to the booth, was this book with scissors, double sided tape, and pens to leave the pics of your choosing and a message to the bride & groom. It was a huge hit and everyone hit the booth multiple times.

They had a whole goodie bag to keep the flower girl happy at the reception.

The B&G have such an outrageous sense of humor- and their parents and wedding party toasted the new couple in a very appropriate way- through humor!

And finally, the first dance. (I happened to be outside for this but rather liked my vantage point through the window)

1/2 done!

Gee, you would think I was getting a paycheck or somethnig for as many photos as I took at this wedding and as much time as I've spent editing...but alas, I do it for the love of art! I am halfway finished editing the 692 PHOTOS I took last weekend. I have to call it a day sometime, so I thought the end of the ceremony was a nice stopping point. I have a zillion I want to share, but am going to wait until I'm totally done. Here is my stopping point. *Sigh!*

And here is one shot I have to 100% credit to my art-loving husband. Well, the inspiration for the shot came from a photo on this blog taken by a photographer I like (see the post on June 8). (The groomsman on the right is one of Dave's best friends) The masks are the groom's idea, but the pose and editing were all Dave. (Unfortunately, since he was taking the photo he is not actually in it!)

Tomorrow I'm going to take some photos for my cousin-in-law who I have a little experience photographing...

I'm glad I was able to capture the engagement and the wedding, and now- a new baby!! My poor little editing fingers...

Pre-Wedding

Here are a few pics from the pre-wedding events from Friday. This is the view from the spot where the ceremony will take place tomorrow.

The handsome groomsmen:

The real stars of the show:
Although truthfully these two may steal the limelight!
We had a lovely rehersal dinner last night at a restaurant that overlooked the whole city of Seattle. It couldn't have been prettier.
The groom requested that two of his friends entertain with their musical talents. This was such a highlight! Dave and I definately have some new songs we need to add to our "favorites" playlist.
Dave has already left this morning to go and do some stuff with the boys. I am off to the Seattle Art Museum. The ceremony is this evening and I have no doubt it will be a whole barrell of laughs.

Seattle

Yesterday went by in a whirlwind- getting into town right after 12 and meeting up with the groom-to-be. Today we were able to sneak away for a bit and see a few of Seattle's attractions. The Space Needle was just ok in coolnes...

...but what was REALLY cool was what the Space Needle stood next to!

This is the Experience Music Project building done by the amazing Frank Gehry

Oh, and it's 7/11...Happy Free Slurpie Day! :)
