A Toast!

The results are in and my husband rocks!! (of course, I knew that already!) For the second year in a row Dave has entered the Cowie Amatuer Wine Competition and I'm proud to say for the second year in a row he has placed. This year he took a third place for his plum as well as his kiwi!! That's two third places in a national competition!

Here are some images of the process.

First we clean the bottles of their old labels.

Then we slice & crush the fruit (around 15 lbs. of fruit)

After it ferments for several weeks we then bottle it. (This is my favorite part. There's a real art to it.)

Finally, we enjoy! This truly is Dave's hobby and love. I am just a happy participant :) Congrats to him!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Dave and I were in the big "C" for my dad's birthday. While the iphone stole some of the limelight, we did manage some shopping, eating, savoring Mom's delicious Texas Sheetcake, and playing some Texas hold 'em.

Gracie tried to get in the game, too :)

A Sneak Peek...

I am WAY excited about the photos I have been working on for my friends. As a sneak peek, I thought I would post this picture...in which I felt like I was sneaking a peek at them!

More to come soon!

Farm Fun

Dave and I spent the most amazing day with our friends on their family ranch. I was out there to take pictures of them, but Dave and I managed to fit in some fun as well.

The potato gun was a big hit.

We took some pictures by the horses...

We even got some 4 wheelin' in!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Each and every night Gracie and I have a little time together to get some exercise. Today was especially beautiful so I took Max (the camera) along.

Here is the road we walk down:

This cow pasture is to our left. You can see the plane ablout to land at the small airport nearby.

The cow family has some new additions. Here is the newest (and tiniest!)

So sweet...

As we neared the end of the walk I couldn't help but admire the beautiful redbud tree.

This isn't how I intended this picture to turn out but I still kind of liked it.

Lastly, the dafodils caught my eye. I like this picture because of all the layers.

I think even Mr. Rogers would be content!

Girls just wanna have fun!

Some of the Bunko girls and their beautiful babes came to visit this weekend and it was such a fun time! Between the little ones eating, pillow fighting, and talking up a storm, the big girls found some time to catch up, too. It made me realize how much I miss these gals, and how lucky I am to have them as friends!

Game Night

We enjoyed a fun evening with some of the Spring Hill teachers & spouses. "Battle of the Sexes" went to the boys, but the females held their own, only loosing by one question.
