Cardz TV Gallery Birthday Card

Today I have a card to share with you featured over on the Cardz TV Gallery. I have a lot of birthday cards to make in April and May. All four of my daughters were born in April, along with my mother-in-law. Hubby and I tease each other often about how we managed to get a boy after having four girls. We picked a different month, and Kyle was born in May. Oddly enough, he married our beautiful daughter-in-law who was also born in May. Then what do you think happened? Their first child was born, naturally, in May. One of our daughter's also has a spouse with a May birthday. This is the card I made for our daughter-in-law, who's got the first May birthday. I used several Cardz TV Stamp sets for this card-For The Birds, Simple Thoughts and Bigger Everyday Sayings. They are available for purchase at the Cardz TV Stamps shop HERE. This card was so easy to put together because I followed one of Mary's Kit & Kaboodle sketches, it's Sketch #6. You can find Mary's sketches on her blog HERE. I decided to print them all up and cut them to fit into an inexpensive personal size photo album that I found at Michael's. I keep it at my desk so it's always handy when I need a quick card. I haven't had the opportunity to put them together in kit form like Mary does, but it's on my LONG list of summer projects.

The printed papers I used on my card are from Echo Park's Happy Summer 6x6 paper stack. {LOVE} On the inside of the card I used the matching washi tape with the sweet little birds on it. {SO DARLING}

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

The Cutting Cafe Clear Cardstock

It's time for another Cutting Cafe post. This week the Design Team is featuring projects using clear cardstock from The Cutting Cafe Shop. The clear cardstock is perfect for making boxes, bags or using on cards (specifically shaker or treat cup cards). I actually have two projects today-one card and a gift presentation using the Fun with Lunch Bags cutting file and template from The Cutting Cafe. I was looking for a cute way to package up a little gift for a friend, but needed it to be tall enough for my products to fit in. The lunch bag template was the perfect size. I used the SVG file to cut the lunch bag with my Cricut Explore. It was a quick project to cut the file and assemble the bag. I added some shredded paper to the bottom of the bag and then nestled my gifts into it. I added a topper of printed paper and added a pretty tag and a bow.

For my second project I added the clear cardstock for the front panel of my card. I placed a partial die cut panel over the top of the clear cardstock that I stamped with floral images. I added a sentiment from The Cutting Cafe Shop's clear stamp set called Love Is. That's it for me today. Thanks for stopping by. You can find the rest of the Design Team's clear cardstock projects on The Cutting Cafe Blog.

Paper Sweeties April Release Rewind

Welcome crafty friends! Today I'm showcasing a final release project using this month's Paper Sweeties Release called Happy Spring and Happy Spring Sweet Cuts. On my project today I also used a set from last month's (March) release called Thinking of You. I used the darling label. My top-folding base card is made from lavender card stock and the label is stamped and heat embossed in white. Over the top of the label I arranged some of the sweet flowers and leaves from the Happy Spring set. I added a banner next to the label with the sentiment "bloom & grow" which is from the Paper Sweeties Wagon Add-on Bloom & Grow Stamp set. So glad you stopped by today and you can see the projects from the rest of the Design Team by following the links below. If you would like to purchase the new Happy Spring set and the coordinating Sweet Cuts you will find them in the Paper Sweeties Shop HERE. You can also find the new release from the Planner Series called Appointments.

Paper Sweeties April Release

Hello Paper Sweeties fans and welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to share my project using April's Paper Sweeties Release called Happy Spring and Happy Spring Sweet Cuts. Today I'm sharing this darling felt bunny. I'm so in love with her. I found these pre-cut bunnies hanging out in the Dollar Spot at Target. There were six of them in a package-two white, two blue and two grey. As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to hand stitch them and add some felt flowers around their necks. I used the Happy Spring Sweet Cuts dies to cut the flowers and leaves from felt. I glued the flowers to the bunny and for a finishing touch I added an eye using Paper Sweeties sequins. I placed a black rhinestone in the center of the sequin. The new release is available today in the Paper Sweeties Shop. Hop (excuse the pun) on over to purchase the set. I know you'll want to see the rest of the projects from the Design Team so you can use the list of links below.

Paper Sweeties April Release Sneak Peek

Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for Paper Sweeties April Release. This month's release is called Happy Spring and Happy Spring Sweet Cuts. This set has this adorable wreath with the pretty bow and the sweet flowers. For my card today I stamped the wreath with Momento Rich Cocoa ink onto kraft cardstock then cut it with the coordinating die. I decided to cut my flowers for my wreath out of felt. I have a little addiction going lately with felt. I'll be using it for tomorrow's sneak peak project, too. I cut three flowers in pretty spring colors to match the paper which came from a new Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pad. For a finishing touch I added a pretty pink gingham bow. I love this sentiment from the stamp set. A perfect way to greet the season. I love how Debbie added the darling flower to top the letter "I". To see the rest of the Design Team projects you can follow the links in the list below. Make sure to come back tomorrow for another project I made with the new Sweet Cuts set. I'm totally loving my project for tomorrow. Here's a little hint at what you'll see-a sweet little animal, hand stitched and embellished with pretty flowers.

Paper Sweeties April Planner Series Release

Hello Paper Sweeties (& Planner) fans! Today I'm sharing my April monthly spread and a sneak peak of this month's Planner Series Release -Appointments. April has always been a busy month for me. Hubby and I have four daughters and they were all born in April so it's a month long celebration in our family. For this month's spread I also used the Paper Sweeties Showering You With Love stamp set and Sweet Cuts. I stamped and die cut the boots, umbrella, watering can and clouds and colored them with Copics. When I think of April I always think of the saying "April showers bring May flowers" so I wanted to incorporate that onto my layout. I used the Upper & Lower Case Alpha stamps and used Versamark ink to stamp the word showers onto black paper then heat embossed in white. I attached that sentiment close to the word April. Next I stamped "bring May flowers" onto one of the clouds and placed it below the word April. Of course, I needed some flowers so I stamped and die cut them from the Paper Sweeties Wagon Add-On stamp and Sweet Cuts set Bloom and Grow. I placed them below the watering can with a sprinkle of water droplets coming out of the spout. I've marked my two doctor appointments I have this month by using the stethoscope along with the "doctor appointment" sentiment from this month's Appointments release. This set will be available for purchase on Thursday, April 15 in the Paper Sweeties shop. Thanks for coming by today and make sure you check out the rest of the Planner Team's post by following the links below. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for a sneak peak of this month's Paper Sweeties release.

Cardz TV Gallery Tulip Time

Happy Spring! My favorite season of the year. There is just so much beauty outside at this time of year. Now that we've lived in Florida for a few years I really see the changes of the season. They are not as dramatic as they are in the north, but they are still here. I really enjoy when the flowering trees bloom, though it certainly makes the allergies flare up. We don't usually get much rain in the spring, but this year has been the exception. The showers will take some of the tree pollen away.

Today I have a card to share that I made for my Cardz TV Gallery post. I used the Cardz TV Stamp set Think Spring. My scene was created with a little help from a few dies from My Creative Time (the boots, umbrella and clouds). The tulip is from Lawn Fawn and I cut the puddle free-hand. I gave it a little texture by running it through my Cuttle Bug in a wood-grain embossing folder. All of the patterned papers I used are from My Mind's Eye. I thought it would be fun to make the tulip look as though it was growing out of the boot and decided the sentiment would look perfect stamped on one of the clouds. Thanks so much for stopping by and remember you can see a new post everyday at the Cardz TV Gallery, Monday through Saturday. You can find all kinds of wonderful stamp sets at the Cardz TV Stamps shop HERE.

The Cutting Cafe Fancy Fold card

It's time for another Cutting Cafe post and this week the Design Team is featuring cards made from the Assorted Card Folds Set 2. I used the tri-fold card with the window on the front. I made a cute little anniversary card to give my husband. It seems I always wait until the last minute every year to whip together a card. This year I decided to get it done early. Now I just need to put it somewhere that it won't be seen or get lost. Do you ever do that? Make a card for an occasion and then lose it. It is beyond me how I manage to lose things all the time in my tiny house. I'm determined to make more cards in advance and find a better storage solution for them when they are complete.

Anyhoo, back to my card. As I said, I used the tri-fold card and used the SVG file to cut it on my Cricut Explore. I knew the perfect image to highlight in the window opening. These two love birds are from The Cutting Cafe clear stamp set Animal & Bug Love. It is a little difficult to see in this photo, but I stamped the sentiment Happy Anniversary under the birds. The sentiment came from another Cutting Cafe clear stamp set called Love Is. I love being able to combine Regina's digital cutting files with her new clear stamp sets. I also cut a little mini tag to tie to the front panel of the card. The LOVE word was stamped with another clear stamp from Love Is. Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you head to The Cutting Cafe Blog on April 7th to see more projects from the Design Team featuring the Assorted Card Folds Set 2. Don't forget-you can find digital stamps and files at The Cutting Cafe and clear stamps and other goodies for making cards at the sister site The Cutting Cafe Shop.

Paper Sweeties April 2016 Inspiration Challenge

Happy April! I love, love, love Spring. It's a time of renewal, when all is new and beautiful! This month's colors for Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge are perfect spring colors. They make me think of the buds coming out on the trees and the leaves bursting forth. Here is the inspiration photo.

I started with a brown cardstock base then added a piece of cardstock that I embossed with a wood grain embossing folder for a little background texture. Next I've given you a little sneak peek of this month's new release Happy Spring with coordinating Sweet Cuts. I cut the wreath from brown cardstock then clear embossed the stamp on it. I wrapped the wreath with some brown twine to give it more of a grapevine look. The next step was to cut the leaf bunches. I used the Tree of Life Spring Add-on for the branches and cut them from pretty green cardstock, then added some doodling with a white gel pen. I also used this same set for the birds and the nest I added to the wreath. I embellished with some beige ribbon and a pretty gem in the center. Finally, I added the sentiment that I stamped on the label from last month's Thinking of You release. To see the rest of the Design Team's Inspiration projects you can follow the links below.
