ReadySetStamp 5 Year Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello my crafty friends! I'm so happy that you've stopped by today. I'm really excited to be a part of my friend, Julie's (Readysetstamp) 5th anniversary blog hop. You should have arrived here from seeing Brenda's fabulous creation. If not and you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop the lineup is posted farther down. Here's what Julie has to say:

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Readysetstamp’s 5 year anniversary blog hop! I can’t believe that it’s been 5 years since I started my blog!! Where does the time go?! That just means that I have had WAY too much fun crafting and getting to know so many sweet ladies in the crafting community. I am so grateful to have each and every one of the ladies join me on the blog hop and I am truly grateful to have them as friends. :0) We have so much fun in store for you today. The theme of our blog hop is anything goes. I thought this would be fun and give a wide variety of ideas for you to stir up some fun ideas for you to make!!!

For my project today, I  have a fun card to share with you. I made this card to send to a friend from our summer campground. I sent several cards out to let friends know that we will soon be arriving back in Michigan. In fact, as you're enjoying this blog hop, I am on the road traveling. I sure hated to leave Florida, but I'm anxious to get to Michigan and see our grandkids. We have a full schedule when we arrive because my son will also be coming from N. Carolina. We will be celebrating his little guy's 3rd birthday while he's there.

Anyway, for my card I inserted a little window on the front and framed it out with a die cut from My Creative Time. Next I used the Cardz TV Stamp set Up and Away to stamp the kite onto my polka dot paper, then I fussy cut it to attach to the front of the frame. I added a red hemp "tail" to the kite and added a couple die cut clouds to the frame. My sentiments are from the same Cardz TV stamp set.

I decided to add another kite to the inside of the card. For the tail on this kite I used a stamp from the My Creative Time stamp set called Build A Pretty Flower. It's actually a stem for a flower, but it worked perfectly for the kite tail.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop. You'll be visiting Elaine next. Wait to you see her cute creation.

We can’t have a blog anniversary without a giveaway right?? For my giveaway, please subscribe, if you have not already and leave a comment. I will draw the winner on May 17th and post it here. Winner will be chosen by random.org. Julie will also be giving away 2 stamp sets of your choice from Cardz TV when you comment at her blog.

MCT Mother's Day/Flower Challenge

Today I'm getting a start on my Mother's Day cards using some new MCT products and joining the challenge going on at My Creative Time. The challenge is to make a project for Mother's Day and it must have at least one flower on it. I am using the new Build A Pretty Flower Stamp Set.  I cut a background to stamp my flowers on using the Stitched Label Die and basic white cardstock. Just getting these flowers stamped was a challenge for me. I'm pretty new to stamping so I don't have a lot of inks. I really wanted to use all three layers of stamps for my flowers but I just didn't have two colors of anything that went together. I had to settle on stamping the petals and then the outline. I love the flowers even without that extra bit of shading on the petals. After I stamped the flowers with Hero Arts French Ultramarine I added the outline in black ink and stamped the stems and leaves. The leaves are colored in with a Copic marker. Next I assembled the card by adding a 2 3/4 x 5 1/2" strip of green polka dot paper, placed the flowers onto a shadow layer of black cardstock and stamped my sentiment (from the Way To Go stamp set) onto my Stitched Oval Label. I added a couple brads to the sentiment label and used some dimensional foam behind the flowers and the label. Easy Peasy!
