Cardz TV Design Team Finale Blog Hop

Welcome to my final post for this design term at Cardz TV. I will miss my bi-weekly posts with the design team, but a short hiatus is good, too. (Especially, since we will be doing some traveling over the summer to see our much missed family). If you just happened along today you might want to start this blog hop at the Cardz TV blog HERE. If not, you should have arrived here from Sharon's blog. I will have a list for the hop at the end of my post. Today I'm showcasing a card using the That's My Boy stamp set. I was so excited when Mary came out with this set. I have a grandson on the way, due in August, and I will be using it to make a scrapbook for him.

My card today, though, is a birthday card for my 13 year old grandson. I have such a hard time coming up with cards for my teen grandsons. I knew when I saw the All Star Kid sentiment it would be perfect for my athletic guy. All of my papers I used are scraps. I cut out a bunch of stars, which seemed appropriate for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment on my background shape and then arranged the stars around it. The largest top star has some dimensional foam backing to pop it up. Under this star I added a banner and stamped happy birthday from the Good Times stamp set. It's a simple and quick card done in a flash. I'm so glad you stopped by today. Make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win a couple of Mary's stamp sets. Enjoy the rest of the hop. You'll be heading to Debbie's blog next.

Cardz TV Spring Challenge

I hope wherever you are Spring has sprung. We're celebrating Spring this week at Cardz TV.  Hubby and I spent last week up in Michigan due to a death in the family.  It was not Spring up there. We left Florida where the temps were in the 80s and landed in snow and freezing temperatures. It has been three years since we experienced cold weather.  I DO NOT like it.  Only the passing of my beloved father-in-law could make me even think of being in the cold weather again.

Nothing says spring more than the blooming of flowers, the grass turning green and the return of the birds and bees. I started with a navy blue card base and added a light blue check mat. Next I used a couple dies to cut some grass and flower petals. I assembled them into a flower, added a button for the center and then some cute little bee stickers from Jolee.  I thought the bees needed a little doodling for a flight path and I added my sentiment using navy blue ink.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV stamp set Think Spring.

I appreciate you stopping by today. I hope you'll play along with this challenge and make a card for Spring.  You can link your card up at the Cardz TV blog for a chance to win a set of Mary's stamps.

Cardz TV Stamps Card Challenge for Easter

Today I have to start out with an apology. This is not the original DT card I made and this one was made at the last minute. My original was this really cool pop out card I made using a metal die from Elizabeth Crafts.  Somehow, the photos of my original design got deleted off my camera and, of all the rotten luck, I mailed the card off to my granddaughter yesterday. While hubby was running the package to the post office with the cards and the little treats I made for my granddaughters, I suddenly had the thought that I should check and make sure my blog post for today was ready to go. That was when I discovered there were no photos of my card saved in my picture files. Needless to say, I was totally disgusted with myself.

Lucky for me, my newest toy in my crafting arsenal arrived a couple days ago. After months of pondering the idea I finally broke down and bought an electronic die cutting and embossing machine. I have a seriously bad case of carpal tunnel and tendonitis in both of my hands/wrists. It had become impossible for me to turn the handle on my Cuttlebug. So behold, my new eBosser which I'm totally in love with.

It only took me seconds to run my metal dies through the machine and assemble my card. All the dies I used are from My Creative Time-the background doily, the eggs the chick, basket and bow. My sentiment came from the Cardz TV stamp set Easter Punnies.

and here is a closer look at my card...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I have only one more post for my term at Cardz TV. The whole Design Team will be having a final blog hop the last weekend of this month on April 26th (3-D Design Team) and April 27th (Card challenge Team) using Mary's four newest stamp sets. I look forward to seeing you then.

Cardz TV Count Your Blessings Blog Hop

Hello my creative friends. I hope you're enjoying the Count Your Blessings Blog Hop. If you just happened to come by and would like to start at the beginning of the Hop you can head over to Cardz TV. That said you should have arrived from Barbara's blog.  The design team is highlighting cards today made with the Cardz TV Stamps Count Your Blessings stamp set.

We all have blessings in our lives to be thankful for.  I know I do, and at the top of the list of blessings that I'm grateful for is enjoying retirement with my hubby. We live the most fabulous lifestyle, one that isn't for everybody, but to us is truly a blessing.  Hubby and I have been retired for almost five years now. In that time we sold our "empty nest" home, traveled in an RV and then decided to buy a small Park Model RV in a campground in Florida where we live for seven months out of the year. It is a permanent structure that doesn't travel.  It's a small 500 sq. ft. home and we absolutely adore it. We head north to Michigan in the summer months to enjoy the cooler weather, family and friends. While we're there we live in our fifth wheel on the shores of Lake Huron with a beautiful sandy beach just a few feet away from our door.

We recently had a new park model go in beside us here in Florida and I thought it would be nice to make a little card to give to the new neighbors.  Mary's new stamp set Count Your Blessings had the perfect sentiment - "Bless This Home". I started with a card base of kraft card stock and added a cute cloud background paper to build my design upon. I used several metal dies to put this together.  The doily, frame, banner, house and tag for my sentiment were all cut with metal dies from My Creative Time. I've grown very fond of creating my cards with different metal dies. Now that I no longer have a craft room I keep my supplies sorted in Ikea boxes in cupboards. I use my dining table to create on so when I'm done with a project I have to put everything away so we'll be able to eat on our table. It takes extra effort to get my cutting machines out and I really enjoy the ease of using the metal dies. All of the little red hearts on my card were also cut with a metal die, but after I attached them to the cards I put some Glossy Accents on each on. It makes them look like the trendy enamel elements that you're seeing in craft stores now. I've kept you long enough and I know you want to make sure you visit all the blogs on the hop. Your next stop will be Melissa. You can see the entire blog hop line up below.
