Cardz TV Card Challenge-St. Patrick's Day

It's time for a new card challenge at Cardz TV.  This week the Card Challenge Galz are showcasing St. Patrick's Day cards.  For my card I used the Cardz TV Stamp set called, what else-St. Patrick's Day.  This stamp set has this beautiful Irish blessing along with nine other sentiments.  I used a foil printed paper from Kaiser Krafts as my backdrop.  I cut the pretty scalloped note shape from the Elegant Edges cartridge and used it to stamp my sentiment on.  For a final touch I added a small shamrock to tie in with the blessing.  This simple card went together in a flash but still has an elegant look to it.  I hope you'll be able to play along and link your card up at the Cardz TV blog for a chance to win a set of Mary's stamps. You'll have until noon Thursday, March 13th. Thanks for stopping by.

My Creative Time Alphabet Challenge

It's so nice to sit down, relax and create a card to enter into a challenge.  My Creative Time currently has an Alphabet Challenge going on.  Pick a letter from the Alphabet and add elements to the card that start with that letter.  I chose the letter B and here are all my B elements along with the My Creative Time sets I used for each one:
  • Balloons/Bow-Stitched Party Dies
  • Butterfly-Postcard Add-Ons
  • Banner-Chocolate Greetings (WELCOME)
  • Beautiful Blue Design Papers-My Minds Eye Moments Collection
  • Bubble-Stitched Round Speech Bubbles
I started with a dark navy BLUE textured cardstock for my gift card holder, next I added a stitched square from the 4 x 4 Journal Die set cut from a cute little polka dot print.  This gift card will be going to our friends that are moving into a new house this weekend.  We will be giving them a gift card from Bed, Bath & Beyond so they can buy something nice for their new place.  Going with that theme I added a little house that I made using the stitched arrow from the 4 x 4 Journal Die set.  I trimmed off the pointy ends to make it straight at the bottom to look like a house. I stamped some grass on the square before I added the house.  I used a stamp from the Hello Spring stamp set.  I masked off the flowers so only the grass would stamp on the paper.  I added pop dots to the house for dimension and placed a banner cut from the Chocolate Greetings Die/Stamp set behind it.  I stamped the word Welcome on it.  By the way, I'm using a fabulous Navy BLUE ink from Heidi Swapp for all my stamping.  Next I cut a small speech BUBBLE cloud from BLUE cardstock and placed it behind the house.  A small BUTTERFLY stamped from the Post Card Add Ons stamp set was my final addition to this part of the card.  What better way to celebrate than with a few BALLOONS.  I cut a grouping of three from pretty BLUE patterned papers and added a BOW to them.

For the inside of the card I added an stitched oval to stamp my sentiment on.  I used a couple different stamp sets and masking to personalize my inside message so it would say Congratulations on your new home.

Other MCT Products used:
  • Fun Variety on the Inside & Out (CONGRATULATIONS on your new)
  • This & That Stamp Set (home)
  • Hello Spring (grass)
  • Embossed Gift Card Holder
  • 4 x 4 Journal Die & More
  • Surprise Pop-Out Card Die (inside oval)

Cardz TV Card Challenge #1

After a lengthy hiatus I'm back with the first challenge of the year for the Cardz TV Stamps Card Challenge Team. During my off time I got a brand new computer/tablet, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2.  I am trying to figure out all the nuances and get proficient in using it and Windows 8.  Believe me, it is a very slow process as I'm basically technically challenged. I'm happy to be back and look forward to creating and blogging again.

Today the Design Team is showcasing birthday cards.  I used the Cardz TV stamp set Good Times for my sentiments on my pop up card.  I was going for a pretty, feminine looking card for a friend.  My pretty pastel green papers came from the Echo Park Everyday Eclectic paper pad. I loved the music printed on it. The paper had a pretty little pre-printed banner on it that allowed me to stamp the "Young at Heart" sentiment.  I added a kraft cardstock banner and a few balloons to the front of the card and placed a fabulous sentiment from Good Times in the center oval of the pop out part of the card.

When the card is opened up and the center panel pops to the back side I added a pocket for a gift card. On the pocket I used another Good Times sentiment along with another balloon. I hope that you will join us for this "Birthday" challenge for your chance to win a set of Cardz TV Stamps. You can link your card on the Cardz TV blog.  You will have until Thursday, February 27th at noon to enter this challenge. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.
