Crafty Cardz Challenge #128 Don't Quote Me

Crafty Cardz Ch#128 "Don't Quote Me"
Make a card using Your Favorite Quote and using any cartridge(s).
Starts: Wed, Mar 27
Ends: Tues, Apr 9 @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps

Here is my project for this challenge:

For this week's challenge I used my Silhouette Cameo for the flower and the scalloped rectangle I put my favorite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt on.  I started with a kraft cardstock base card and topped it with a red polka dot paper I found in my scrap bin.  It's from Recollections With Love paper stack.  I made a layered flower with a file I picked up at the Silhouette store.    I used a printed word paper from that same Recollections paper stack.  This flower has three layers.  I inked the petals for a little contrast.  I added a little banner I cut with a die from My Creative Time's Chocolate Greetings Stamp Set.  I hope you'll get a chance to play with us!

My Creative Time Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Hello my crafty friends!  Are you busy preparing for the upcoming Easter holiday weekend?  Since we're still in Florida and away from our family it will be an uneventful day for us.  I decided I better get a quick little package into the mail for my two granddaughters back in Michigan.  I actually had time to check out the Designer Challenge going on at My Creative Time and it's really a fun one.  A Tic-Tac-Toe challenge picked by Designer Kim.  The challenge involves a chart and you have to pick three items from a row to create your design around.  Well, this was tougher than I expected since I love to use all of the items that were there to pick from.  So I decided to go with the middle row of the chart going up and down-Embossing of any type, Ribbon-Hemp or Twine and Texture-Metal, Burlap, Lace, etc.
After I finished my project I realized that somehow I managed to use all the items in the first row going down, too,-Use a Die, Button and Pattern paper.  Hmmmm, hope this doesn't disqualify my project.  For my project I used a premade tag that I bought at Hobby Lobby.  I embossed it with my Cuttlebug Moroccan Screen folder and edged the border with an EK Success punch.  I added a pretty blue patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy Girl 6x6 paper pad on top of that.  Next I added a piece of linen for the texture.  Of course, it couldn't be an Easter tag without a bunny.  My local scrapbook store just had an event last week to introduce Impression Obsession dies and stamps.  I found this cute little bunny die.  I cut him out in a coordinating blue and pink flowered paper from the same paper stack.  Miss Bunny was just calling for a little pompom tail.  Along with the bunny die I used the center heart from Emma's Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set.  One of my absolute favorite of Emma's dies is from the Chocolate Greetings Stamp Set.  I use the little banner from that set for everything.  Recently Emma showed, in one of her videos, how to make the banner with points at each end by cutting the banner and then turning it around and placing the flat end at the pointed end of the die then running it through the cutter again just hitting that end.  I had to try it.  Sure enough, it worked.  Not that Emma would tell stories, but I doubted my own ability.  After I had the banner cut I used the Chocolate Greetings word stamps for my sentiment.  I placed the banner on my tag and added tiny pink heart buttons on each end.  For the finishing touch I added some Stampin' Up striped ribbon, a little pink hemp and finally a pretty blue button to the top of the tag.  Now I have to hurry off to the post office to get my package in the mail.  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday surrounded by family.  Thanks for stopping by!

Cardz TV Stamps Good Times Blog Hop

Hi my crafty friends.  Thanks for joining the Cardz TV Stamps Good Times Blog Hop.  I hope you're having a fabulous time and getting lots of inspiration from the super talented Design Team.  You should have arrived here from Karen's blog.  If you just happened along for a visit today you'll want to head to the Cardz TV Blog to start at the beginning of the hop or you can check the list at the end of this post.  For our blog hop today the Design Team is highlighting Mary's new stamp set Good Times.  This is primarily a stamp set with sentiments for your birthday celebrations.  When I saw the sentiment "Let the Good Times roll" a dice came to mind.  I thought it would be fun to make a paper dice so I put my thinking cap on and knew where I could find a box to make the perfect cube.  I used my Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut my cube-shaped box from white cardstock at 9.0".  After assembling the box I used my Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge to cut my black circles for my pips (dots) for the cube.  I cut them at .5".  I used some of my fun chevron ribbon I found on my recent scrapbook store bus tour around the box.  Next I cut a tag for my sentiment, also from the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge, at 3.0".  I stamped two dice using another Cardz TV Stamps set called Fun and Games.  I cut them out and placed one directly on the tag and pop-dotted the top one for a little dimension.  I added a little faux-stitching with a fine point red pen around the edges of the tag then attached it to the ribbon using some red hemp.

Do you have any friends that like to play games?  Wouldn't this be a fun way to package up a gift card for them!  I, personally, have a friend that loves to gamble at the casinos.  I know she'll love a gift of cash to use at the slot machines.  Now you'll be heading on over to Laura's Blog to see her amazing creation.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win two of Mary's stamp sets over on Cardz TV.  Have fun!

Crafty Cardz Challenge #127

Crafty Cardz Ch#127 "Erin Go Braugh"
Make a card for St. Patrick's Day using Green, Black, and White ONLY and using any cartridge(s).
Starts: Wed, Mar 13
Ends: Tues, Mar 26 @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps

Here is my project for this challenge:

I went to Create A Critter 2 for this week's Crafty Cardz Challenge.  Mary asked the DT to design a card with an "Erin Go Braugh" (St. Patrick's Day) theme using the colors green, black and white only.  I love all the cuts on CAC2 and it's so easy to put the layers together.  I really like the way the manual has the critters all arranged by holiday, too.  I cut my turtle at 3.5" added some faux stitching with gel pens, googly eyes and a little lime green stickles on the hat.  My conversation bubble is a pre-loaded cut on the Imagine.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set It's All About You.

Cardz TV Stamps "It's So You"

Cardz TV Ch# 26 "It's SO You!"
Make a card, layout or craft project using YOUR favorite colors.
Starts: Fri, Mar 8
Ends: Thurs, Mar 21 @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps

Here is my project for this challenge:

I'm excited to share my card this week.  Mary asked the Design Team to create a card using our favorite colors.  I really don't have a favorite color, but I love colors that are cheerful and make me feel happy.  This card really makes me happy, not only because of the colors, but because I used a collection of papers and products that I won on my weekend scrapbook store bus tour.  Oh my word, did I have a fabulous time!  My patterned papers are from My Little Shoebox's Lovely Day collection I won.  The birdcage is a Bo Bunny stamp that I won, also.  I couldn't tour eight different stores without buying some fun products.  You'll probably be surprised by this, but I've never done any heat embossing.  After sharing some stamping tips with my seat mate on the bus I decided one of my purchases would be a watermark stamping pad and some embossing powder.  I've had a heat gun for years but my husband appropriated it for regripping golf clubs.  I took it back from him and away I went.  The first thing I learned was not to use the heat gun when working on top of a vinyl tablecloth.  OOPS!  Thankfully, I didn't ruin my dining table.  After using the stamp pad and embossing powder for the bird cage and little yellow birds I cut them out and put them aside until I assembled the rest of the card using a pink mat and yellow lined paper.  Part of the paper stack I won included a scalloped edged circle.  It was a tough decision to cut that beautiful big circle but I thought it would make a really cute banner for my card if I cut and trimmed it.  Next I brought out my Silhouette Cameo to cut the beautiful round doily.  One of the things I like about the Silhouette is the beautiful, intricate cuts you can get using it.  I placed the doily onto the card and the banner on top of it.  I used some dimensional foam on the back of the birdcage and the little birds.  I embellished the birdcage with some pink jute (a scrapbook store bus tour requistion) and a tiny yellow button.  My sentiment is from the new Cardz TV Stamp Set called Simply Said.  I love this stamp set because it has lots of multiple use sentiments to be used on cards or layouts.  Great versatility.
