Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday challenge #67-Pool Time

Happy 4th of July!!!

Hope you all are spending the day with family and friends, perhaps a picnic, at a parade and of course enjoying the fireworks.

This weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is Pool time. I ordered a few new cricut carts last week. Got them in the mail the end of last week so the All Sports cartridge had a great cut for this theme.

I think we all know someone who cannot resist jumping into the pool and splashing everyone else- right?

Here's how I did it....

Standard A2 card
Paper from my stash
Swim Dude/layers cut at 3.5" from All Sport, p.50
Wave/layers cut at 2.5" from CM Traveler Cartridge, p.60
Beach ball/layers cut at 1.25" from Life's a Beach
Embossed white card stock with retro circles cuttlebug folder
EK border punch
Sentiment CTMH Makin' Waves stamp set
Navy Brad on beach ball, red stickes, and chalking

Happy Holiday Weekend!

Happy Canada Day weekend and Happy 4th of July weekend.

I was at my local craft store yesterday and came across a new product I have not seen before. But it looked so interesting , I had to try it thanks to a 50% off coupon.

Being that the challenge over at Birthday Sundaes is anything goes, I thought I would make a Birthday card using this new to me product and link it up over there.

Looks like a basic Birthday card right?

Well, what is cool about it is the fun surprise inside when you open it....
It is a 3D balloon!

You can see it better in this picture...
Ok, the product is Honeycomb paper from InkyAntics Rubber Stamps. You can see a video here that shows the paper along with stamp sets that they have designed to go with this paper.
I didn't purchase the stamps. Instead, I just cut my balloon shape free hand.

You get one sheet of 5x7 paper of one color for $6.99, at least that was the price in my craft store. Like I mentioned, I had a 50% off coupon so was only about $3.50. It goes a long way for such a big impact.

I need to go back and get some more colors now that I have tried it. I can't wait to try more designs.

Be sure to hop over to Birthday Sundaes to link  up a project or just check out what the DT has done.

Here's How I did it...
Basic A2 card base
Pattern Bday paper is from My Minds Eye
All other paper from my scrap stash
InkyAntics red Honeycomb Paper
Balloons/layers cut at 1.5" from Birthday Bash, p. 23
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls embossing folders on balloons
Kangaroo/layers cut at 2.75" from Birthday Bash,  p. 49
Birthday sentiment on front from My Creative Time's Polk Dot Surprise Stamp set
Birthday sentiment on inside from My Creative Time's Wow! So Many Candles stamp set
Black sticker pearls for nose and eyes
Chalk, scrap of ribbon and doodles with my pens.

This weeks challenge at Frosted Designs is Vintage photos/pictures.

This card is a vintage picture of an old 4th of July postcard.
You can find several sites online that have old postcard images to print.

I just sized the frame to fit the image and chalked it up.

Here's How I did it...

Printed old post card online and trimmed to size I wanted
Frame is from Lacy Labals sized on my gypsy to get the right size. Copied another one on top a bit smaller to make the frame
Bird/layers cut from Sentimentals cartridge

A little twine and button and some chalk to accent.
