Our New House (Hopefully)

Here are some pictures of the house that we're in the process of buying. I took these pictures yesterday while the inspector was there. Just try and picture it without the ladder in the picture! The backyard needs a complete overhaul!!!

Roller Coaster Ride...

As pretty much all of you know by now, we're buying a house. If you didn't know, you do now. :) We knew that things hardly ever go smoothly, and there tends to be bumps in the road of buying. We were supposed to be 100% financed, so we didn't need a down payment. Well after looking through things, our lender decided that it would be in our best interest to put 3% down since it would lower our monthly mortgage payments. Okay, we got through that bump no problem. We'll put the 3% down, and the sellers will pay the closing costs. We're scheduled to close on July 18th. We are all very excited. Only a few weeks left.

Our realtor told us congratulations, the house is under contract. They took the listing off the mls website. Pretty much as good as ours! Then the lender told us that he was having trouble running the loan if we pay off the truck, so he told us to wait on that. We did. I asked him if there is anything else that could go wrong, or is the house really ours. He said that as long as they could show seasoned assets in the account, everything would be fine. So the assets are there, and everything should be fine now...

Well now they're having trouble because Jeff's credit shows that he is always late on making child support payments. But that's not true. The Vermont office of child support garnishes the child support from Jeff's paychecks, so they are always on time. But for some reason his credit shows that the payments are always anywhere from 30-190 days late! So now, Jeff has to take some time off work so he can come home and call Vermont and have them fax a statement saying that the payments are never late. It just seems like one thing after another right now and it's quite depressing!

We have begun packing, and we've talked about where we'll put things in the new house, and we've discussed paint color options. We've even tried to imagine how special our first holidays in OUR HOME will be this year. It's all so exciting. But at the same time we're scared to death because it seems that all these things keep coming up. And while we still understand that there are bumps in the road, it just seems that everything that could possibly come up, is.... And we're worried that some other problem might come up that would prevent the loan from going through at all and we'd lose the house. That would be completely devistating for us! This house is what we've been waiting for. It has everything we wanted. And we're so close, but at the same time, it feels so far out of reach!

For now I'm trying not to worry about all the bumps, and I'm just focusing on getting things packed up so that IF we move in a few weeks, we'll be ready. We'll let our landlord know about the house when we go to pay the rent in a few days, and I guess we'll just have to talk to her about what might happen if the sale fails, so that we'll still have a house to live in. Please wish us luck and hopefully everything will work out. We REALLY want that house!

Meet & Greet... And Trouble Makers!

Last night was another coffee break night with the Salt Lake City Mommies at Beans and Brews. As usual there were alot of us and we were all loud! 20+ women all talking at once can become somewhat overwhelming. We had fun as always and everyone got to know each other a little better. We met some new Mommies and someone even brought treats for us all. YUM. Tiffany and I were there for a little over 2 hours and then we called it a night. The other customers were a little dissapointed when they arrived because it seemed like we had taken every table and chair in the place and put them all together. One man even approached the mommies group and begged for a chair. From what the Mommies were saying this morning, after Tiffany and I left last night, and Beans and Brews closed, the Mommies stood around in the parking lot and finished their "party". A little while later, the man that lives in the house next to Beans and Brews had to come out and yell at the Mommies because he was trying to sleep. It's a good thing Tiffany and I left when we did, since now we wont be labeled as Trouble Makers!

House Hunting...

We spent most of today out looking at houses. We looked at 5 total and only 1 was decent... My arm got a killer sunburn from being the passenger in the vehicle. OUCH!!!!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

I'm just a few minutes late on this one, but trust me, I didn't forget. You are such a special handsome little man, and you make our family so happy. You are growing up so fast and I can't wait to see what kind of person you grow into, but at the same time, I wish you'd stay little forever. Everytime we see you, we start smiling. You're so smart and witty and you'll go far in life. I wish that I could see you more often or at the very least, that your Mommy and Daddy would give me some pictures of you... (HINT HINT!!!) We love you Munchkin!
