Our Newest Addition......

Well, we finally (we, meaning me of course, Blake has wanted this since well forever) broke down and got ourselves a little sidekick to call our own.
His name is Toby.
He is a 6.5 week old Red Merle Australian Shepherd.
Aaaaand he is the cutest thing I have ever seen, I even let him in my living room. And kitchen. And closet. And anywhere else his cute little self pleases.
Believe me, this is a BIG step for me.
But I figure while he's just a little guy he can roam as he pleases, as long as we are watching!
We have already talked to him about where we do and do not pee and poo and he understands. (right.......).
It's fun to see Blake so excited about his new little buddy, and we can't wait to introduce him to his lovely friends Badger and Winnie!
I think they will all love each other.
So cheers to us being new parents! Let the fun.....and lack of sleep..... begin! He was up at 3am last night and refused to go back to sleep.
Is this what parenting is like? Joy.
PS. Grandma and Grandpa Pugh couldn't be happier about the new grandchild, haha he even peed twice in their house already.
That is a true sign of love Mom. Sorry again..

Hap Hap Happppppy New Year!

This post is a little late, but Happy New Yeeeeeear aaaaaaanyways!! =)

Not much has changed for the new year....I'm back in school, back to work, and back to the crazy life!
This semester I have 2 classes that I am loving so far: the first is Mother/Baby and the second is Complex Disorders. I already feel like I've learned more in the last 2 weeks than I did the entire last semester. Just a different way of teaching I guess, and perhaps a little more dedication on my end, but it's nice not to dread class on a weekly basis! I'm also taking a statistics class at night, which I DO NOT like....however I'm doing my best to get through it. That is the goal = to get through it. Blake is busy working away at Kennecott, he is loving his job and getting some great experience and opportunities out there. Hopefully one day he will be the president of Rio Tinto and I can spend my weekends on a beach somewhere far far away from UVU =) One can wish right! Exactly.

Speaking of exactly...With it being the new year I haven't exactly set any new goals that are, what I guess you would call official, but here is a list of what comes to mind!

2011 Goals for Emily Wilde
- Don't eat junk. Obviously this is a goal for 99% of America right about now.
But hey, I've got to get thinking about having offspring one day (in 10 years) and the last thing I want to think about is adding 30 lbs to my girth. Statistically speaking (I do that now, hence the statistics class), most women gain 25-30 lbs during pregnancy. My goal is to lose 30 lbs first, then gain 30 lbs, and in essence gain 0 lbs. I'm brilliant. Guarantee I'm the first person to think of this idea.

Hmm other goals:

Start playing tennis more. I remember this one time when I used to be really good at tennis. And I'm wasting my talent. Heavenly Father would not be proud. It's time to pull out the old tennis skirt, put some sweats under it, and whack the ball around. Deal.
Carbs and sugar are not my friends. I am not going to eat them until March 12th. This is the day that my dear cousin Hillary gets wedded. And I think it's a good idea anyways. So there.

Visiting Teaching is another goal I have set for myself, I'm going to do it consistenly. That's it, I will do it. And I'm already done with January visiting teaching so we are off to a good start folks. Thats me on the right, visiting teaching some friends. Obviously. Next goal: Buy Just Dance for my wii. What better way to exercise then to drop it like its hot in the comforts of my own home.

And last but not least, I am going to make Blake give me a massage once a day. Because I am a nice person.

Good Luck with all your new goals friends! Cheeeeeers!

Merry Christmas!!

I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone!!! We had an amazing break for Christmas, it was so nice having 4 days off with Blake for once. It's been a long time since that has happened! This year we were able to venture to Price before Christmas day which was really fun. We ate lots of good food at the Wilde home, and opened lots of presents together. It was fun spending time with everyone and we couldn't believe the nice weather we had all weekend. I was wishing for some snow though!

On Christmas Eve, Blake and I ventured off to Red Robin at the District, and then we went and saw "True Grit." It was pretty entertaining, more so than I thought and of course Blake loved it so that was good =) After the movie we attempted to drive around to see some lights, but the fog was not going to let that happen! So we went home, turned on Christmas Vacation and frosted lots of sugar cookies..... Blake loved that part.

Christmas day was spent eating, eating, and more eating, and of course opening a bunch of really nice presents. Blake spoiled me with a new camera, a new purse, some cd's/dvds, clothes, and lots of other goodies. He did too much! And I gave him some new tools, yankees attire (of course), a new Yankees wallet, a hummingbird feeder, a new ice fishing auger, and a few games/cds. We were also really excited to get a new popcorn machine for our downstairs, and an old fashion ice cream maker as well! Those will be nice additions to our new pad =) Party on I say!

It's always fun to get so many nice presents, and like every other year I felt overwhelmed at how much my family and I are really blessed with. This year was a great reminder for me of what Christmas should be about. Not the presents, or how much money is spent, but a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior and remember him. It really hit me hard this year that the best part of Christmas is spending time with family and thinking of our Savior who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. The presents, they are always nice, but I hope that next year I can try to focus more on what's important in life and do something to show my Savior how grateful I am for him.Merry Christmas everyone!

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!

Tis true my friends, I am officially a free woman. From school that is. I finished my last test today and even busted out a 90%. It's called a Christmas Miracle. Now I get to enjoy party after party to celebrate! Tonight consists of a delicious dinner with the cuzzo Hill and Gavin, tomorrow night Avtec Christmas Party at Market Street, Saturday night Gingerbread House making with the Pugh/Karr/Wilde Kiddies and the rentals, and Sunday's the Big Bateman Bash!!! I can hardly wait for all of the fun yet to be had. And to top it all off I'm getting my nails done tomorrow, my hair did Saturday and a delectible massage Tuesday. Really, I have nothing left to complain about. The only thing left on my to do list is bake sugar cookies, eat tons of food, and make a Christmas list for the hubster. However I do know one thing I'm wishing for.....
Sike! Maybe.

Hate it. Period.

The ever-so-dreadful week of finals is vastly approaching and I am not excited about it. I have 2 huge comprehensive tests to study for, yet have no idea how to study for such massive satanic-ness. I would love to be enjoying December, frolicking amongst the Christmas lights at Temple Square and ice skating my little heart out somewhere festive, however... I am stuck with my nose in the books and see no end in sight. Actually the end will be next Thursday at noon, when I finally finish my hellacious last test, but thats not the point. Right now I am miserable. And that is all.
