Yesterday we had a busy day...a little too busy for this Momma!
Gym at 9:45, which means I have to leave the house by 8:45, got gas and drove 30+ minutes to get there then get the kids checked in and settled. I'm not a morning person so just the thought of this is tiring me.
Then a quick trip to Target. Quick for a couple reasons...1. How long can you really have 2 kids in Target before the inevitable break-down occurs and 2. How much can you really fit under your cart because you have a 2 year old in the seat and a 7 month old in his car seat in the basket.
Drop off toy at Junior League office for toy drive. There are many things in life that taking two kids to doesn't really matter, this however is not one of them. It took me longer to get the kids in and out of the car than it did to drop off the gift and sign a piece of paper. Sometimes I wish I had a car nanny, who could just sit in the car when you had errands to run that required quick in and outs...for example, post office, dry cleaners, Starbucks, etc.
Now we can finally go home, its only noon and I'm EXHAUSTED!
Feed kids. Attempt to put Tatum down for a nap, she isn't really into so I just put her in her crib with a book and hope for the best...I get in the shower while Druz screams the entire time. Nice relaxing shower. Finish getting myself ready.
Druz finally falls asleep and Tatum is sleeping as well. Perfect timing because it is now 2:15 and we need to get going so we can see Santa.
Wake both kids up from naps (Which goes against my #1 rule...NEVER WAKE A SLEEPING BABY!)
Get them dressed and into the car. Tatum tantrum occured somewhere in there.
Pick up Mom and arrive at the Gaylord 15 minutes late, not bad!
Meet up with the Girls and all the kids and wait in line for Santa to arrive. Santa shows up at 4 and we were meeting at 3 so we could be the first in line. We were about 5th. Not ideal but it works.
While waiting...
Santa arrives and all the kids are happy telling Santa what they want and smile on his lap and take great pics...then...it's our turn and this is what we get. Classic. Not my choice to be in the pic but the only choice I had if I wanted Tatum in the picture.
The more I look at this picture the more I wish I was either crying with them or that it was just Druz and Santa because that kids face is priceless.
We decide to walk around for a bit and we find this...Tatum's new favorite movie.
Tatum is blurry but it gives you a better idea of her HI-YA moves that the "Panda" does.
We also found Santa's sleigh and Grandma and Tatum sat in it!
What human sized Gingerbread House DOESN'T have a Cowboy on it?!?!?
Santa's reindeers were dressed up and scattered throughout the hotel, I think this one was Vixen.
A little after 5, time to head out and grab a quick bite before arriving at Tross' Choir Concert.
Starting to feel sore from my morning workout.
We decide on Chick-Fil-A because its quick and close to the concert. I've seriously never been so stressed out in a given situation in my life. Tatum arrives and sits down with her friend Joey before I even get the bags in the door, she then proceeds to start eating his food without asking. Yes, that's my child. I give my Mom my other child, who is screaming, and ask that he be fed while I go order food. I just leave Tatum where she is...Thank God for friends who don't judge...Or at least the friends you THINK aren't judging.
Get the food and Tatum barely takes a bite when she decides she wants to play on the indoor playground, which she has never done before. There are tons of other kids, bigger of course, some too big to be playing in there. Tatum starts screaming at the top of the slide. I can't see her but I can definitely hear her. Its too loud for me to understand what she is crying about. All I'm thinking is Dear Lord, please let my child either come down the slide or back down the stairs. One of the other kids (clearly a bully) tells me she is coming down the slide and then when he comes down he says, "TRICKED YA!" Oh dear child, you are just too funny for your own good. He and his brother proceed to say what a cry baby Tatum is and that she is still crying and has snot all over her face...Think mean boy taunts..."Oh cry baby, your a cry baby, etc" You get the idea. What I wanted to say was, "I'll show you what a cry baby is you little brat!" They were old enough to know better.
No kidding, 15 minutes later we are finally out of the play area and she is now screaming because I made her come out. Thank God my Mom was there because I forgot about Druz...what the hell would I have done had it just been me??? Maybe that's why she has never played in one of these things.
Dylan arrives...we are about to be late for Tross' performance, I just toss the tray of food away (full of food), don't remember if I ate or not, Mom says I did. Tatum is still screaming, Dylan takes her outside to have a father/daughter chat. I'm trying to remember what I was doing. Finish gathering my things, my kids, and my mom say bye to Liz and Joey and leave in a rush to get to the concert.
Have I mentioned that its been pouring rain the entire day?
We arrive at the Concert, I drop Mom off so she can be there on time, we park what feels like a mile away. We get the kids and run to the concert, in the freezing rain. Druz is such a fan of the music he decides to sing and dance along. Great at home, not so much when you want your children to be quiet and still because you have to hold them for two hours.
Concert was great...Tross did a really good job and looked SHARP!
Feeling REALLY sore from my morning workout.
We leave the concert at 9pm, both kids are awake and in my car...how did I end up with both kids and Dylan drives home childless??? Somethings not right about that!
10pm, Got home, kids to bed and wanted to fall down where I stood.
