Christmas 2005

Another sucessful Christmas has almost come to an end. We had Christmas with my Mom last night. The boys make Christmas so much more fun. Vitross just had a comment for every toy he opened and Tyler got an electric guitar that he LOVED. Both the boys also got four-wheelers as well. I haven't seen them but I can only imagine. They are smaller to fit their size but Tyler said he already wrecked his twice and flipped it once.

I dropped Mom at the airport around 2 and will pick Dad up around 9 tonight. Tomorrow I need to go to Target and get a cheap Christmas tree. We will have our Christmas with Dad tomorrow and its just not the same if you don't have a tree.

I got some luggage that was badly needed. I picked it out about a month ago but it was mostly sold out. Somehow, Mom worked her miracles and found it. I also got 3 Sudoku books that I can't put down.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!

Almost Christmas

Yesterday Dylan opened his gifts from my Mom before he headed off to Oklahoma to spend Christmas with his family. He took my little baby, which I miss but I was glad to see her leave at the time. I was looking forward to sleeping through a night. I have now had a slim glance into what my life will be like once I have children of my own and have decided to only have pets. If necessary you can just lock them in a bathroom but you can't really do that with a baby. OK, I'm not really serious but it was nice to sleep through the night without wondering, Whats she doing? Is she in her bed? Whats that noise?

Carmen wasn't a huge fan of the Santa Suit but she was definetly the cutest Santa I have ever seen!!

We are having Christmas tonight so I'll have pics later on of my new car, home, and the million bucks I've been waiting on... ;o)

Merry Christmas!

Vet Visit

Poor little Carmen had a Dr. Appointment today. Dylan took her the first time and came back with some meds which he had no idea what they were for, so, I decided I would go this time so I knew what was going on. Our appointment was at 8am and we of course were late. Dylan took Carmen out when he woke up, for her early morning duties, then he put some of them in a bag to bring to the vet, well he says I was rushing him so he forgot them. I'm curious as to exactly where he forgot them, but hey its his house so not my problem. Anyways, back to the vet. As we walk into the examining room, there are 2 needles sitting on the exam table. I was scared so I can only imagine what my poor puppy was thinking. She was shaking like crazy and you could tell she just wanted out. The nurse comes in takes her temp, which was gross but I guess I have to get used to that stuff, what got me is that Carmen didn't even cringe when they put the thermometer where the sun don't shine, anyways her temp was fine so we moved on. I told the nurse how she has been doing and what I thought needed to be check. She leaves and then the doctor comes in, checks her out, and then decides that he will take her in another room for her shots, this way she won't get mad at us, and we won't get mad at the doctor. One shot was for her last dose of worm-b-gone and the other 2 were just normal puppy shots. We could hear her yelping, it was awful. She also got a pill for the worms and Dylan wanted her nails cut cause they were getting pretty long. They bring her back in and Dylan is holding her then realizes she is bleeding, the damn nurse cut my little baby when clipping her nails!!! No wonder she was welping! Anyways, they put some kind of powder on her nail to make it feel better. Dylan wasn't happy when he noticed the blood on his suit shirt. Then of course he is like, "can you get this out", "will this stain forever?" Hello??? Who cares about you? Carmen is bleeding, had 3 shots and probed in the butt! How selfish men can be! Anyways, we pay (Dylan pays) he wanted the dog he can pay for her...(For details please see blog from November 24 and 25).

I asked Dylan if he wanted to go to Colorado to see my college roomate (she lives there.) He says, "Gosh it sounds like a great idea but we can't. We need to save to buy a house." Well, I see his point, however, I did bring to his attention that he knew in November that we needed to save for a house but yet decided to bring a dog home against my wishes. So what does he do, argue with me about how the dog doesn't cost that much. I proceeded to tell him (in a calm manner, of course) that we have had the dog for 2 months and spent over $200 (That's one plane ticket right there.) And this was prior to our appointment this morning. Me, being the math minded person says, that makes about $1200 a year that we could have spent on a vacation. He decides to correct me and tell me that we have only had Carmen for 1 month. I wasn't going to say anything but whos side was he on??? Mine or his? His arguement was only backing me up, not him... Anyways, that just upped the vacation fund to $2400. So in all, after today's visit we have spent well over $300 on Carmen, who I love, but correct me if I'm wrong...that is a plane ticket and a half to Colorado or a start on saving for a home, right??? I know we need to sacrifice but come on. I think what he really meant was, "You need to make the sacrifices so I can do what I want."

To make my point...I called him this afternoon and heard some friends in the background, as soon as he picks up he blurts out, my appointments were canceled today. (He only had 2 but they were later in the day) I was like, "Really? Both of them?" He says, "Well, one canceled so I just canceled the other one, I won't get the commision till next month anyways." (Does that sound like a typical salesman or what???) Well, guess where he was going instead of making the appointment that would have helped make money for this house he keeps talking about...golfing, thats right folks, he was golfing. I mean sacrifices??? Does he know what he's talking about??? Needless to say, I WILL be going to Colorado with or with out the dog wanting golfer!

Volunteering

Well, so far I have applied to volunteer with APS (Adult Protective Services) and CPS (Child Protective Services) I filled out bunch of information online and they are sending me an application. I think I have waited too long to volunteer on Christmas Day. At least I haven't found anything yet. I'm still on the prowl though.

One week till Christmas!!!

Vitross had a game this weekend. They lost by 4 points but the team played well. Its so cute to see them running up and down the court. This was my first game to attend so it was really exciting. I think once I have kids I'm going to be that annoying parent who just sits on the side lines and yells at their kid the whole time, not in a bad way, just trying to get them to do this or that on the court. Anyways, Dylan and I were definetly those people this weekend. Dylan's giving him pointers during half time and I'm trying to tell him where to go on the court as he is running back and forth. Guess we didn't help that much, they still lost!

After that game I picked up my first Christmas present of the season! My wine fridge. Boy is it nice. I can't WAIT to use it!

I had Vitross for the weekend and boy can he be a handful! He is now in the stages of mocking everything you say and just flat out not listening when you ask him to do things. I guess all kids do it but geez... I'm the Aunt. I'm supposed to have fun with these kids. Vicki is growing his hair out right now so he isn't bald like normal anymore.

So as I've mention before, Dylan and I have been looking at homes. I really like the Cottage Style homes but everytime I find some they are WAY out of our price range. Well guess what folks! I found some more and they are a liitle more realistic. You can check them out if you are interested. The builder is D R Horton. We will probably visit the property this week sometime. I'm not sure when they opened but hopefully it was pretty resently. I have a friend the works for another builder and he advised that we should have bought a home this month since its the end of the fiscal year for the builders and they want to sell sell sell. Well, we missed that boat but he suggested March will be our next best bet. So, we'll see what happens between now and then.

I guess Dad is heading to Ohio today, he didnt OK it with me first but I guess I'll live. Wish I could have gone, but someone has to make money, he sure isn't helping me out!!!

I have pics of this weekend, Carmen, Vitross and others but I will have to load them later today...Pictures added 12/21.

Merry Christmas. 6 days to go!!!

The Christmas Spirit

I listen to KISS FM in the mornings on my way to work and sometimes at work if something good is on. They do this thing called Christmas Wish's, where people call in or email and tell them about a family that is in need for the holidays. Then Kidd calls the family and tells them what they will be getting, usually its a significant amount of money in gift cards so that the parents can go shopping for the kids for christmas. Well, today they did this thing called Breaking and Entering Christmas. There was a family that someone emailed about but the person that was concerned didn't think that the family would accept any assistance, so what they did was lewered the whole family away from the house, broke into the house put up a christmas tree and gifts under the tree, fixed their heater (it didn't work) then watched as the family returned from breakfast. It was actually really cool to listen to and realize that some things are truly taken for granted. I've always wanted to help people in need in one way or another, feed them on christmas morning or volunteer at a shelter. I've just never really taken the steps to do it. This year I will be by myself on christmas day for the most part so I think I will do something for others. Not sure what but I'll be sure to keep you all posted!

Where was I...

Started dating Dylan, he was my best (guy) friend at the time. ;o) , Went crazy thinking about being 16 and getting a drivers license! ;o() , Parents Split up ;o( , Stole and then wrecked my mom's Pontiac and lied about it for weeks. ;o( , Stole my Dad's Nissan pick-up and drove around town, it was a standard and I had no idea how to drive a stick at the time, not sure how I didn't get caught, by my parents or the cops!) , Hung out at Wendy's on friday and saturday nights, waiting to hear who's parents were out of town so we could have a party.
Hung out with Tyler, Robert, Dylan and Alicia non-stop. , Spent a weekend in Daytona Beach with Mom, vacationed at Dale Hollow Lake, Tyler was born (My first nephew!), Vicki got married.

Bought my first car, (still drive that car today), moved into a brand new house in Lubbock, lived with Michelle (first of 3 years) , partied like a rock star, and got it all for FREE!!! Thanks Dad ;o), Dylan and I broke up (Beginning of a 2 1/2 year break) , itchin' to turn 21 so I could go to bars legally. Using a fake id to get into the bars, I was using Vicki's ID since I was 18!, Vitross was born (YEAH, my second nephew!)

Started working my first REAL job, slowly figuring out what the "real-world" was like, Got my first apartment on my own in Dallas, loved the area, hated the roomate, Went out 5 nights a week, gained my freshmen 15 (just a little late), quit teaching aerobics (this also may have contributed to my freshmen 15), Drove to Waco almost every weekend to see Dylan or he came to Dallas. Dylan and I fought like crazy. Got hired on at my job (was contracting before) . Tons of weddings to go to.

Great Grandma passed away at 102! Spent my first Thanksgiving in Ohio, that I can remember anyways. Figured out I LOVE adventure sports, reading Chic Lit, the value of your girlfriends, close people will move away, and tomorrow is ALWAYS a new day!

Today (This year)...

Still working the same job, contemplating my future career, looking at houses to buy, want to buy a Nissan 350Z (I'd look freakin HOT in one ;o)), Went on my first skydive with 8 friends, No longer fight with Dylan, he just lets me have my way (took 10 years but I taught him well.) , Got a cute puppy, don't go out much, Dylan's home-body ways have rubbed off on me. Realized that being an adult isn't all its cracked up to be, decided to be a kid again. Realized not everyone has a tomorrow. Love to travel, although I don't do it as much as I'd like. More friends weddings...

Fantasy Football

I'm in the playoffs in my fantasy football league.. This week its me against my cousin Joe, should be an easy win...;o) And then Vicki plays my Uncle John. The projected score shows me down by one point so I may have to make some strategic changes...Either way Joe better look out!!!

Officially Old

Well, today is a day that will never be forgotten. I am officially old and senial (sp?) As I was leaving work tonight I couldn't find my keys anywhere, luckily I'm smart enough to keep a spare set in my purse, however once I got to my car I realized how truly not smart I am as I realized my car was running, yes folks, thats right. My car sat in the parking garage running from about 7:45 am to 4:45 PM just idling away, wasting gas. You'd think someone would have noticed and tried to get the word out in the building but no. So all the gas that I filled up with this morning is now prematurely contaminating the universe. OOPS!!!

Finished Shopping!!!

Well, you can all be jealous! I'm completely finished with my shopping! Actually, I finished MY shopping this weekend but I had to do my Dad's shopping. I thought that was going to stop when he moved but I was dead wrong! Anyways, it was kind of fun to spend someone else's money again, and picking out my own presents wasn't too bad either ;o). At least I can't open anything and complain or have to act like I like it.

I did save the best for last and bought my present today, I did have to call Daddy and tell him he needs to deposit more money in my account because what I wanted was more than what he gave me, he did and I bought it!!! SUCKER!!! There it is, I bought myself a wine fridge. A really nice one might I add. It has 2 seperate temperature zones so I can put red wine and white wine in it and keep them at different temps. I asked my dad if he thought it would fit in my house, whenever I buy one. I want to put it in my kitchen under the counter, you know like a dishwasher. He said that I guess I just better buy my house around the specifications of the fridge. I can definetly tell he is a Back!

I had some technical difficulties this morning but I had them resolved quickly. My credit/debit card kept getting denied but I knew I had a plenty of money in my account (My dad was putting money in it so I could do his shopping). Anyways, I called Wellsfargo and asked what was going on. I must say I was a bit perturbed yesterday when my card was declined at Long John Silver's when I was trying to buy Tyler some popcorn shrimp. But anyways, they said there was some suspicions activity on my card. I had a few large (only like $100 each) transactions that they thought were odd. WHAT???!?!?!?!?! Its Christmas you retards, I was shopping! Anyways, they released the hold and away I went.

I did mail a box of presents to Grandma Back today. So that felt good. I finished the wrapping last night and mailed it off. There are no names on the packages so I'll have to send a card so everyone knows who gets what. I knew there were no names, I was going to try to be creative and write a poem or something funny to tell you all who's was who's but I was so tired of wrapping last night I just said forget it. I figure I've got some time, I can email it if I have to but the presents wouldn't fit into my PC so emailing them wasn't an option and I wanted to be sure they got off in time.

I have one thing left that I'm waiting for to come in the mail then the Baker's will be done too. I'll have to get that package out later this week.

My cousin did a "where were you at 10,5 and 1 year ago" on her blog and it was pretty cool. Think I'll try it tomorrow.

Tonight I have more wrapping then I can relax and enjoy the holidays without worrying about who I have left to shop for!!!

Texas Weather

Let me tell you a little something about Texas weather... You just never know whats going to happen. Its VERY unpredictable.

Saturday it was in the high 80's and even hit 90 in a few places. Today, however, only 4 days later, its snowing. Yes, thats right it is snowing in Texas. We usually don't get snow here. Maybe only once or twice a year in January or February but today God decided he just couldn't hold it any longer.

When I got in my car this morning I noticed water on my windshield. I didn't think it was supposed to rain till tonight, well wrong I was. I turned my windshield wipers on to get the water off my windshield so I could see and guess what, it wouldn't move. The damn thing was frozen, rock solid. I had to sit in my car with the heater on defrost and wait for the ice to unthaw enough so I can see out of my windows. And as most of us know, at least those that have lived in the cold, our cars don't just throw out hot air, it takes about 5 minutes or so for it to even get slightly warm enough to do any damage to the ice.

Some people were allowed to leave work but was I, HELL NO! I got to stay here and work while everyone else is in the comfort of their own homes. I seriously think that even if there was a bomb threat here in the building they would still expect us to work.

Well, I only have a few more hours left in my day and then I'm heading home to drive on the roads with all the other crazies that are freaking out and slamming on their breaks because its icing outside. Don't they know that the LAST thing they should do it slam on their breaks??? Oh well, wish me luck ;o)

Florida here we come!!!

So I booked my flight to Florida yesterday. Dylan has a business trip in Fort Lauderdale so we are going to try and make a trip of it. We haven't been anywhere in a really long time. I'm actually flying into Orlando and going to hang out with my dad for a few days while Dylan has his meetings. Then I will head to Fort Lauderdale. We may head to Miami for one night since we have a friend that lives there. Our hotel is really nice and on the beach. It will be nice to get away for a few days. Now I just have to book a car rental and we are all set. I'll be there January 10-15. YIPPEE!!!

The picture is of the pool over looking the ocean at the hotel we will be staying at.

On another note. My dad is coming for christmas. YEAH!!!! But I have to do his christmas shopping. BOO!!!! Its really not that big of a deal. He did deposit some money in my account and I will just show him some fake receipts and keep the money anyways. Just kidding. I am done with my shopping so that is annoying but Dylan hasn't even started on his so we will probably go shipping this weekend and I will get the boys and Vicki whatever they want for dad.

Poor Carmen

So I made an appointment for Carmen to visit the puppy doctor. Since Dylan's schedule is a bit more flexible than mine he had to take her. So at 4:15 on monday he shows up at the vet. They run some tests and figure out that she has a staph infection on her belly, parasites in her poop, still has the worms, and some type of skin disorder that she will eventually grow out of but had we not taken her to the vet to get it treated, she would have scratched her skin to the bone (so the vet tells us). She wasn't able to get her second round of puppy shots because the doctor already gave her 2 shots for the worms and the staph infection. I'm glad I made the appointment. We really just thought that the dandruff and the scratching was from flea bites healing but boy were we wrong. We also thought the red rash type marks on her belly were from flea bites too, come to find out it was a staph infection. She now has to take 2 different medicines. One is liquid and she takes it in the morning and at night. The other is a pill that she just takes once a day. Don't ask me what the medicine is for. I asked Dylan and he said he didn't remember. Needless to say, I will be taking her to the vet from now on. I don't like giving my little puppy medicine when I'm not sure what its for. I at least want to be able to tell if its working!!! She was still scratching pretty bad yesterday and the doctor said the scratching should stop in 3 days. So come friday if she is still looking miserable, I think I'll take her back. I just feel so awful since I'm pretty much helpless.

Christmas Cheer

So I have most of my shopping done. The only thing I have left to do is get my spoiled nephews some gift cards to GameStop and then I should be done. I can't believe how quickly I finished my shopping this year. It is quite a relief. I did a little shopping online but mostly at the stores. I went over to my mom's house this afternoon. I needed to wrap some gifts for the Ohio folks so I can get them shipped in time. I still have somethings that haven't arrived yet (Internet purchases) but I got most of the wrapping done. I'm sure they will all be ruined once I ship them but its the thought that counts, right?

Don't get me wrong, like I said I'm glad I'm done with the shopping but its hard not to buy things when I see the perfect gift for someone. That is the only downside to getting it all done early. I keep wanting to buy other things that I see but I have to resist, or I'll be broke...more than I am now!!!

I think Carmen has an ear infection. She snapped at my mom when she touched her ear and she shakes her head like she wants her ear to fall off. I will have to call the vet in the morning. She already has an appointment to get her second round of shots on friday, but I don't want to wait that long. She has really dry skin and with the ear infection I just need to take her in. I just feel awful when she scratches. I think she has some ant bites too from playinig outside but I'm not sure. Hopefully the vet will be able to make her feel better.

OK, well, I have laundry to do and Carmen needs a bath so I hope everyone is doing well! I'll be sure to update my blog more often this week and in the future. I know you are all just DYING to hear about my life!!! hehehe

Back tracking to Thursday

I got my hair done on Thursday. I drive all the way out to Dallas just so the same girl can do it. And I end up paying way too much. I happen to run out of checks so I had to use one of Dylan's. Needless to say, when I told him how much I paid, he wasn't so happy. But you know what, its my money damn it so he doesn't have to like it. I had low lights done in my hair this time. Thought I'd try something new for the winter. Wanted to go a little darker than it turned out but am ok with the color anyways.

AXA Christmas Party

Last night (saturday) was the AXA Christmas Party (Dylan's company). It was quite an event. It was actually at the boss' house this year. We didn't get to take any pictures really. I left my purse in the car. I do however want you all the see my shoes that I wore because they are a new purchase and so cute. Not trying to tease you but I don't have a picture of them. I will have to take a picture and post it cause I know you are all DYING to see them ;o) This is the only picture we took and it was on our way home. Oh well. Its not a great pic, actually its pretty bad, but hey its all I got.

Tyler's football pics

Tyler played football in the fall. He was on the Titans. He just got his football pics back. Once I get them scanned I will put a picture up.

Saturday...Vitross' first basketball game

Today (saturday) was Vitross' first basketball game. I didn't get to go because I had a class BUT Dylan went and was instructed to take good pics. I also requested that Vicki video tape the performance and to give it to Dylan so I could watch it when I got home. I did feel a little left out when I called my mom on a break from class and they were all out eating breakfast, even Dylan. I kind of felt like he took my place! But I can't complain, I think its GREAT that he drove 45 minutes just to see my nephew play basketball.

I must say, if you have never been to a 5 year olds basketball game, its definetly something you must try. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Of course none of the kids know that they are supposed to dribble the whole time so they just dribble once or twice and then pick up the ball and run to the other end of the court.

Vitross is the point guard, which is a great position for him. He is one of the more talented kids on the team (and that's not because he's my nephew). The coaches son is pretty good and then Vitross falls right behind him. He is such an active little kid so it's good that they put him in a position where he has lots of movement. Basketball is a good sport for him so that he can run around the whole time.

Oh, and the best part of it, you ask??? He is living out his aunt's legend. As you can see from the picture he is number 34, which is the number I wore as I warmed the bench in high school. It's nice to know that my beloved #34 will be served well!

Go BOBCATS!!! (Thats his team name)

Friday...Happy Birthday Carmen!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Carmen, Happy Birthday to you. Today is Carmen's 8 week birthday! YEAH!!! She has gotten noticeably bigger since last week. She is still a cute little puppy but she has definetly gained some L B's!!! I guess thats ok if your a dog though. Wish that was the case for me too.

She has a dr. appointment on friday and we will know her exact weight then. Isn't she just precious???

Catching up...Wednesday

I haven't updated my blog all week so I've got lots to share. You'll have to bare with me on this one. I'll try to do a better job of keeping up with my blog in the future, but for today this will have to do.

Wednesday after work, Dylan and I went to look at bedroom furniture. Not that we are in a hurry to buy anything, but if and when we get a house that will be something we need. I asked the salesman at the store if we ordered it now, can they hold it till March. Clearly that wasn't an option but he did say we can order it now and then come March if there isn't anything in the warehouse, he can reimburse us. Not sure if he thought I was retarded or what. Needless to say, we will just wait till March and hope the bedroom suit is still there. The picture above is what I plan to buy, as long as its still in stock when I get a house. There are other pieces that go with it. An armoire and 2 night stands. Each piece, of course, costs more but I figure what the heck, I don't want to get a few pieces then regret it later.

Blog Format

I had to change the format of my Blog yesterday. The old format, which I like much better, didn't have an option for links and I wanted that on my blog. So anyways, if you were curious, as I'm sure you all were ;o), thats why my blog looks different today.

Carmen

Here she is, my new daughter. Her name is Carmen. Isn't she just the cutest little thing you ever did see?

She is 7 weeks old. She has had all her shots and no more fleas. She scratches herself all day long though so I just feel awful. The bites are still there and healing but they must still inch like crazy.

The worms are pretty much gone. At least I haven't seen any. She gets her second dose of shots on Decemeber 9th so we'll know more then.

Welcome to the family, Carmen!

Black Friday

I'm not sure where to begin. I now see why they call it Black Friday. I woke up this morning and it was black outside and if I look at my bank account right now, it will probably look like the black hole!

OK, so my day started at 4:30am. I wasn't happy. I laid back down after my mom attempted to wake me up but it didn't seem to work, before long I was rolling out of bed, putting on my clothes and a hat then brushed my teeth and was out the door. If I was smart I would have thought to sleep in my clothes so I woudn't have to bother with it that early in the morning but that is neither here nor there.

As we are on the highway heading to our first destination (We already had a plan of attack) I asked, "So are these places really that crowded and are the deals really that great." As my mother tells me "no" I wonder what I'm doing up at that time in the morning. So we pull up to Best Buy, I can tell you this...we were NOT the only dummies up at 4:30am. The line was wrapped all the way around to the back of the building where the loading docks are, and for those of you who have been to a Best Buy at least once in your lifetime (which should be all of you unless you live in a cave) you know good and well Best Buy is not a small store. We all filed in like a bunch of people running for the holy land. It was amazing. The pushing and shoving and just blatant rudeness made me want to just kill some of these people. But I kept my cool. Got what I needed and was out in a jiffy. Ok, one store down and 10 more to go. We moved on to different stores getting what we scoped out in the ads yesterday dealing with all the rude pushy people all day long. It was enough to drive me to drink. And I mean that literally. At around 2pm (about 9 hours after our first store) we pulled into the Esparza's parking lot. We both ordered much deserved swirls and just relaxed. As we were both about to fall asleep in the booth, we decided we better head home. First we made a pit stop at Blockbuster so we could fall asleep on the couch while we acted like we were watching movies. All in all it was a very challenging but successful day. I finished 75% of my shopping and will be stress free till Decmeber 23 when I have to finish the other 25%. ;o) Needless to say I will NEVER do Black Friday shopping like that again, although I successfully completed my mission, I finished the day ready to beat or mame the next person who bumped into me.

So on to the dog. Guess what... I'm going to be a mommy!!! (Don't worry Dad its not what you think.) Dylan has decided to ignore my thoughts and bring home the dog. He called while I was at the mall (in the middle of pushing some old lady down because she grabbed the last DVD player that was on sale) ok not really but he did call when I was at the mall. He was at the vets office and said the vet told him the dog is now rid of the fleas (never heard of a 24 hour flea problem but whatever) and the worms are easy to deal with. He just has to take some pills or a shot or something like that. He also told Dylan that the dog was full chocolate lab or pretty close to it. What does pretty close to it mean??? Could you imagine if you were in the hospital bed giving birth and the doctor says, "yep, your a mom of a white baby, or at least pretty close to it." But I just tried to put it in perspective, it is just a dog, right??? I do have to say, I have a hard time believing somebody just dumped a full bred chocolate lab on the steps of a pet store but I'll let him be naive and believe what the doctor said. So he finishes telling me all this and then asks if I'm upset or mad. Of course being the perfect girlfriend that I am ;o), I tell him no, thats just peachy!!! Then he drops the bomb. "Well, Southwest Airlines (which is how he got to Tulsa) does not allow animals on their flights. I tried to call rental car places and they are like $100, so can you meet me half way???" I swear I thought he just asked me to meet him halfway between Dallas and Tulsa, but I just knew he could be that crazy. Oh but he is. (If he can't afford $100 for a rental car, how in the hell is he going to afford this dog??? These re just my thoughts at the time.) I wasn't exaclty sure what to say, other than oh well, guess the dog stays in Tulsa. And to sugar coat the situation he says, " I just want you to know that I'm waiting to get back so you can name the dog." Well, nice one Dylan. At least he knows me well enough to know I would fall for that like a retard walking into a glass door. He swears its the cutest thing ever but is out of network so he can't send me a picture, another great one. He wasn't supposed to be back till sunday but since he suckered me into meeting him half way, I told him I was not about to drive that far on sunday when I had to work the next day. So, the moral of the story is that I am meeting Dylan halfway (probably near OKC, 3 hours away) tomorrow sometime, to meet the new family member. If the dog turns out to be ugly, I hope that one of you who ae enjoying this story will be ready to find a cute little dog with fleas and woms on your front porch!

I'll send pics when I finally get to see this dog. Oh ya, I dont even know that sex of the dog, how am I going to name it???

The rita was the high point of my day, thanks Mom!!!

Turkey Day

So, I listen to KISS FM in the morning on my way to work and they are always talking about blogs. I never knew where to get one and never really took the time to ask...But I talked to my Dad today and he said he started one. Ok, he is 56 or 57 (Sorry Dad) and I'm 25. How does he know more about this stuff than me. Anyways, I figured I'd give it a shot.

Today is Thanksgiving and the first thing I saw this morning when I woke up was the front page of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. On the cover (Yes, the very front page) was the announcment of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey splitting up. I mean really, who would have thought and to start my morning like that, I just knew my day was ruined.

Five minutes later I was over it and moving on to the ads. I've never done the day after Thanksgiving shopping thing. I always thought it was a little crazy but I think I'm going to go for it this year. I've already got my list ready to go. Getting me out of bed in the morning will be a different story. I'll keep you posted.

The big news of the night was when Dylan called (He is in Tulsa with his family) and said he has a "treat" for me. I was kind of excited till he informs me its a dog... Hold on, let me finish... He tells me how he is going to bring it home. Well isn't that just great. I mean he has wanted a dog for a while but I just think its kind of cruel to have one in a small apartment. I proceeded to ask about the dog, the normal questions like, what kind??? He doesn't know what it is he tells me. A chocolate something, its mixed. So all I know is that he wants to bring home a dog that is a mut (which I'm cool with) but he doesn't know how big it will be oh and the best part, it has fleas and worms!!! Yes, you read it correctly fleas and worms. He wanted to leave that part out but I think his mom told him it was a much needed bit of information. So needless to say, I expressed my honest opinion and told him it was not a great idea, but ultimately his decision. Hopefully he does realize that means NO. He plans to take it to the vet tomorrow and see what kind of dog it is and what needs to be done with the worms and fleas. He said he will let me know tomorrow what the vet says. I guess his sister found it in a closed tub in front of a pet store and felt compelled to bring it home. (I'll talk to her about that later ;o)) Anywho, I just don't think its good timing with christmas coming and we have planned trips we are going on. I'm not sure who he thinks will watch the dog. They don't just feed themselves. In his defense, it would be nice to have a puppy, but hopefully he doesn't read this before he comes home. Once he is home he can't go back and get the dog. But hey, for all I know I'll be picking up him and the dog on sunday.

Well, thats about all for tonight. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I missed you today Dad!
