CeCe's bike and pool party

CeCe turned 6 on July 3rd!  She decided a while ago that she wanted a bike party.  I knew a bike party in July would be very hot so I suggested 1/2 bike 1/2 pool party and she loved that idea!

When the kids arrived CeCe showed them to the craft station.  We had license plates they could make for their bikes, streamers and spoke beads.
She was SO excited for all of her friends to come ride bikes with her!

Jude, Jasper and Winnie (and Aunt Blake) were able to come in town for the party and that made CeCe so happy!  Aunt Sandra was there too, but there are no pictures of her!!  I think she took some of CeCe opening her presents (precious bird earrings and a bird necklace!)
The kids rode in the cove after decorating their bikes

My sister was kind enough to get a picture of all of the kids!

After bikes we brought them inside to make a plate.  We had pizza, chips and fruit.
Then we sent them out back to eat by the pool

Right after they ate they jumped into the pool!

For her 'birthday cake' she wanted ice cream sundaes.  It was the perfect treat out by the pool.  Here is CeCe's creation....strawberry ice cream, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, chocolate chips, gummy bears, gummy worms and crushed oreos!
Happy Birthday Dear CeCe!  Happy Birthday to YOU!!

Thank you to Cappy, Papaw Ruff, Aunt Blake and Aunt Sandra for all of your help during the party!  I was able to chat and enjoy myself for most of this party which was awesome!!

Dollywood and Smoky Mountains!

In late June we headed to Pigeon Forge, TN for 4 nights.  Cappy and Papaw Ruff came with us which is always fun!  Our first stop was Dollywood, what a fun place!!!  We have added this to our 'must go back to' list.

It has fun rides, was so clean, not super crowded and plenty of shade and water rides to keep cool.

We spotted this (Bryce's baseball team is Batter's Box)

This is in front of Dolly's museum.  Our Dolly lovin gal LOVED the museum!
This was a hologram of Dolly and CeCe said "Can Dolly really see me?"  It was so cute!
The real coat of many colors

There were iPads and headphones on a wall where you could pick any Dolly song to listen to.  CeCe stayed here for a long time singing loudly and dancing!

This is near our hotel in Pigeon Forge
Saturday was our planned day to go to the Smoky Mountains National Park.  It was raining when we started at Cade's Cove but thankfully it dried up for a few hours so we could explore.  It was a gorgeous place!

Leaving Cade's Cove there was a big traffic jam.  We were starving and looking for a place for our picnic and getting grumpy.  But then we found out what the hold up was.....BEARS!  A Mama bear and two cubs.  They all three crossed the road right behind our car!  It was awesome to see!!

We found a picnic spot and filled our bellies and then found a short trail to hike.  It was bright and sunny when we started but about halfway through the bottom fell out!  We got DRENCHED but it was still fun!  Bryce was bummed because he wanted to keep hiking.  Next time we do this trip we will plan more time at the national park to explore more.

Lake with Friends

In the middle of June (I'm way behind!!) we had a super fun weekend at the lake with our friends the Sowders and LeCroys.  We had 6 adults and 6 kids which was pretty tight inside the lake house!  Luckily we had great weather (aside from a torrential rain storm Friday afternoon on the boat!) and spent all of our waking hours outside swimming and boating!

The whole group!  James (Robin and Steve's 6 year old) was there too, he just HATES having his picture taken!!

Happy Birthday CeCe

CeCe had a great birthday this year!  On the night of her birthday we went to Cappy and Papaw's Ruff's house and had cake (she requested Lemon Cheese cake which is a labor of love and Cappy and Papaw graciously offered to make it for her.  It was delicious!!)

Cappy bought CeCe her first real ring for her birthday.  She let her pick it out and she chose an opal.  Just like Cappy's and mine!  3 generations of opal rings.  LOVE IT!!

For her birthday Anthony got her this door bar.  I had one growing up and both kids so far have loved it!

A few days after her birthday sweet bird lost her first tooth!!!
