Last Week

Last week was a busy one!  Sunday CeCe had a Girl Scout (Daisy Troop) outing to Menagerie Farms in Collierville.  It was a great place!

The next day she had her first field trip.....to Menagerie Farms just like the day before!  It was such a fun place we were excited to go back.  At the big intro to the day in the big pavilion they had goats for the teachers to milk.  After the teachers went the lady called two kids up to the front to try it and CeCe was one of them!  She was nervous but did it!  And it wasn't really to milk the goat, it was to try and squirt Mrs. Bittner with the milk!
 Feeding the goats
 Eating our picnic lunch

Wednesday Bryce had his first field trip to Germantown Farm Park.  It was such a nice place and there were different stations for the kids to learn new things.  This was at the composting station!
The leaf station
And the bug catching station.  Notice Bryce's hands in his pockets?  He let his buddies catch the bugs!
Friday CeCe had pumpkin carving day.  All of the kindergarteners carve pumpkins with their parents at lunchtime.  The weather was perfect and we had fun carving the pumpkin with her!
 Her class and their pumpkins
Friday night we went downtown to dinner and a Grizzlies game (preseason).  We had the best time!

Saturday CeCe and I had to do a little Halloween hair prep......
Today Bryce went to his friend Upi's house for the afternoon and Anthony was working so CeCe and I met the McCanns at the Germantown Farm Park (where Bryce had his field trip) for a fall festival.  It was fun but HOT!  She didn't pet any of the goats but sure picked up this turtle to enter him in the turtle race!

Baseball!

Bryce had his first baseball tournament with his new team last weekend.  He plays on the Batters Box 9U Black team (but they wear red and black jerseys).  They have moved up to kid pitch this year and they can lead off and steal bases.  Lots of new things to learn!!

Headed to his first game.....it started at 8pm on a Friday night so CeCe and I decided to stay home and catch the other games that weekend.  Very hard decision to make for me and guess what.....he pitched that night!!  He came in as the last pitcher, bases were loaded with the tying runs, he walked the first batter but then struck the next guy out for the 3rd out of the inning and to win the game!!  And I missed it!!!!  Tears were shed when I heard about this!

They played 3 more games that weekend and I got to see him start as pitcher in the game Saturday night.

His team made it to the semi final but lost that game.  He has some work to do with batting (he got hit in the arm his first at bat in a scrimmage game and has been nervous ever since) but is doing great in the field!

Practicing pitching

 After baseball they painted together!

We were a little worried about getting a good family shot this year, but the kids did great!  I love all of these pictures!

#3 vs. #2

Wow! After the big wins over LSU and Texas A&M, the Bulldogs climbed the polls to #3.  The next week we were scheduled to play Auburn, who was ranked #2!  ESPN College game day came to town for the first time and campus was PACKED!  We got up early Saturday morning to drive in from the beach.  We got to town around 12:00 and Anthony's dad met us and dropped us off on campus.  It was the perfect way to arrive!  By that time all the parking lots were full and we have no clue where we would have ended up having to park.  It was HOT when we got there.  We had just enough time to wait in line for the bathroom, grab some lunch at the tailgate and then head in to the game.

Excited but nervous before kickoff......

Early on we intercepted the ball and got a touchdown.  Bryce is a very quiet fan (but loves being there).  This game I saw him cheer more than he has all year so far!

I wish I had gotten Anthony in the picture too.....looks like he is yelling!  With 11:30 left in the 1st quarter we were up 14-0!!!  Holy Moly nobody expected that.  I've never heard Davis Wade Stadium so loud.  It was amazing!!!!

At the end of the game my arm hurt from ringing the cowbell, I had a blister on my thumb from the cowbell and I was loosing my voice from yelling so much.  Perfect game!!!

Near the end of the second quarter it started raining.  It had been so hot and sunny before the game that I forgot and left our panchos at the tailgate.  Rain was forecasted but I forgot about that with the heat!  It rained and poured for a few minutes but then stopped.  We were DRENCHED but still happy  and having fun with the game!

During halftime it started raining again and the fun wore off.  CeCe shut down and went to sleep on Anthony like this.  She never sleeps outside of her bed so this was crazy!  She stayed like this (with all the cowbells and yelling all around her) until I got tired of the rain in the 3rd quarter and woke her up to take her back to the tent.

She and I watched the game under the stadium before making a run for the bookstore.  We bought a cute sweatshirt that kept her nice and warm.  I should have gotten one for myself.  I've never been so wet and cold for so long!  It started raining around 4 and when we got back to West Point after 9 we were still SOAKING wet.  It's Monday today and Anthony and Bryce's shoes are still wet!

Kate (from Pensacola) and her family were in town for the game and the girls got to play at our tailgate while all the boys were still at the game.  It stopped raining in the 4th quarter so they stayed the whole game.

We still can't believe the Bulldogs won (and won so big!).  The team is now #1 in both polls for the first time in school history.  Such fun for the Bulldog faithful!!!

BEACH!

Tuesday we left Mel's and drove 45 minutes to meet my parents and sister at Fort Morgan beach near Gulf Shores.  My parents go every year in October and it worked out great that Jude's Fall Break was the same week as ours.  We stayed Tuesday-Saturday and packed in the fun (Anthony met us Wednesday).  The weather was perfect for being at the beach, hot enough to play in the water but not miserably hot.

Bryce jumped right in and started body surfing.  I may have ridden a few waves myself!

All the girls went shopping one morning.

Anthony brought our boogie boards from home and all the kids loved riding the waves in on the boogie boards!

Hunter went and bought two more boards for the kids.....or the grownups!  He and Anthony rode many waves in that afternoon!
I don't remember what they were talking about here, but it looks pretty funny!
