Moving from Savannah was hard. Very hard. One of the reasons it was so hard was having to leave our super awesome next door neighbors, The Marquez family. Saying goodbye to them was the hardest of all. When we left we said we would try and meet up at our lake house over Labor Day weekend. It made the goodbyes a little easier knowing we might see each other again in 6 weeks but we weren't sure if it would really happen. With Joaquin's work schedule and Vandi just having her 4th baby 5.5 weeks ago, it didn't seem likely we would get to see them. BUT......we did!!!! CeCe and I were so happy to get to meet little Hendrix and we were all happy to see the 3 big boys too!
We all got there pretty late Friday night (my kids were already in bed when they got there) but Saturday morning we wasted no time!
Out on the boat
We stopped to swim around
And jump off the boat
Everyone but Bryce tried the tube that day. Vander was so so about it but Avery, Maddox, Joaquin, Vandi, Kayla (Vandi's niece who came along also) and CeCe all loved it! I wish I had pictures of everyone tubing but I sacrificed and cuddled with baby Hendrix most of the boat ride. Big sacrifice, huh?! Look at this precious thing?! CeCe was in LOVE!
They stayed in the water pretty much the whole day!
Vander and Anthony played football while the big kids swam
The Marquez crew had to leave a day earlier than planned because of Joaquin's work. We were SO SAD to say goodbye to them again, but very happy to have the memories of this trip to hold us over until we can do it again.
I texted my friend Melanie (my BFF from when we lived in Pensacola) who lives in Fairhope, AL now just to see if by any chance they could come up for the afternoon/night and they could!! The kids were so excited and surprised to see Liam and Luci pull in the driveway as the Savannah crew was leaving.
CeCe and Liam on the tube
Bryce finally decided to try the tube and of course loved it (he's done it every other year, not sure why this trip he was so late to the party!) He and Liam tubed pretty much everywhere we went on the boat after he first tried it! They had to let CeCe get on every once in a while though, she loves it too!
I gave skiing lessons to everyone interested this weekend (because I'm such a pro, you know!) Avery was trying in some very choppy water and took a bad fall and decided to stop. I decided to try and use the small kid skis and got up quickly but fell FLAT ON MY FACE shortly after getting up. The kid skis are a good bit shorter and the water was too choppy. I lost my prescription sunglasses in that fall. UGH!
We went to a smoother cove for Liam to try
And he got up on his first try!!
My super brave bird decided she wanted to try! She was so nervous but I love that she tried it anyway. She only tried this one time, but she did great! Never stood all the way up but was close. I think next year if she really wants to do it, she will have no problem.
Bryce popped right up again. He doesn't love skiing (daredevil he is NOT!) but I'm proud of him for doing it once or twice each summer.
The LeCroy crew had to leave early Monday morning to get Mike to the airport. It was hard saying goodbye to them too, but we should get to see them in October!
Anthony and I were covering the boat and I turned around and saw the kid holding hands and jumping in together. So sweet!!
