Basketball and Roller Skating

Today was Bryce's last basketball game of the season.  He has had a lot of fun playing this year, and we've enjoyed watching!

He had his best game yet today!  Scored 4 points and was finally aggressive on defense!

He has some good friends on his team.  This is Bryce and Luke.  Luke's dad is the head coach and is the head coach for baseball also.  Notice the red basketball on this jersey for the other coach that passed away, Coach Cavner.  Luke is also in Bryce's class at school.

After the game we all headed to Target.  We have 3 upcoming birthday parties we needed to buy gifts for.  CeCe has been asking for roller skates for a while now and we saw these at Target today.  (Kiki, she used your Christmas money for these and a pink basketball!)  She was wobbly of course but so brave!

She kept telling Anthony no, don't touch me!  Bryce won't even try skates on and she's wanting to do it all the first day!  Love her spunk!!

Georgia Day Parade

Today was the GA Day parade downtown.  All of the second graders in Chatham County learn GA History for Social Studies.  And every year they all participate in the GA day parade (Savannah is the oldest city in GA, established in 1733).  It is in February so you never know what the weather will be like.  It was originally scheduled for last Wednesday but the weather was 36 degrees and rainy so thankfully they rescheduled for this week and we had amazing weather.  78 degrees and sunny!  When my mom was here we went to Goodwill and found this vest and shirt.  I ordered the hat from amazon and black baseball pants we already had were perfect for breeches.   Bryce was so excited about walking in a parade that he didn't complain about his outfit!

 Almost ready to start walking...
Walking in the parade.  All of the kids looked so cute in their colonial attire!

After the parade with some of the other 2nd graders

Lately

We've stayed pretty busy lately!  Here are a few phone pictures from the last few weeks....

It was super cold here the week my mom was in town.  Her return flight was cancelled because of ice which is unheard of around here.  We've been loving our fireplace this winter.  I LOVE this picture of Reagan!   I think she looks like a little old lady with her blankie and fire!

And a few days later we were playing outside in a tank top!  Crazy weather!

CeCe is still loving gymnastics.  2 more of her good friends have joined her class.

We take advantage of the nice warm days when they come around and meet friends at the playground.

Reagan and CeCe love to snuggle with Anthony on the couch.

We had heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's on Valentine's day!
Finally a picture of Bryce!  CeCe is just much more willing to stand still for a picture than he is!

Basketball season is wrapping up and baseball season has started so he's pretty busy with both sports right now.  He plays on the YMCA basketball team and 2 of the basketball coaches have a baseball team that he's joined for this season.  We are excited about baseball starting!
Sad note.....the night after his first baseball practice one of the coaches passed away.  40 years old with a 12 year old daughter and 8 year old son (in Bryce's class and plays on both teams).  He had a massive heart attack.   It's been so sad as you can imagine.  The teams sat together at the funeral and wore their jerseys as a small tribute to Coach Cavner.  After the funeral the other coach (Coach Cavner's best friend) had these patches put on the basketball jerseys.  They say Coach Mike Cavner inside the basketball.  They will do one for the baseball jersey's as well.   CeCe has had more questions about his death than Bryce has.  He's been pretty quiet and withdrawn about it so far.  But he's being a great friend to Cole (coaches son) and I'm so proud of him for that!
