Vocabulary Hat Parade

Bryce is still getting used to the idea of Elementary school.  He loved loved loved his preschool and wishes elem. school was more fun like preschool.  I don't blame him one bit! Early in the year another mother told me that they let the kids wear their Halloween costumes to school on Halloween day.  I made a big deal out of this for Bryce because they couldn't do that in preschool but big kids in elem school get to do that.  Well.......last week we got a note sent home saying that 'for the first year Pine Meadow is not doing costumes on Halloween day, we are instead going to have a Vocabulary Hat Parade." Um, what????  Really?  Not only does he not get to wear his costume like I've been telling him, we have to make a silly hat for the day?  Geez!  Bryce wanted to have a pumpkin hat (couldn't let that halloween theme go, I don't blame him!) but our red and yellow just wouldn't mix to make orange so he decided that since he loves to eat apples he wanted a red apple hat.   Ta-da!  Our apple hat....don't be jealous of the creativity required to make a hat like this!

Sweet Seasons Farm

Yesterday we headed about 1 hour north to Milton, FL to a place called Sweet Seasons Farm.  Their big thing is a 7 acre corn maze but they also have other fun stuff for kids to do.  We decided to skip the maze and just do the other things.

First up was a corn cannon.  Bryce thought this was pretty cool!  Bryce loves to dress just like his Daddy and I think Anthony must enjoy it too!  Almost every weekend now they are twinkies!  So sweet!

There was a huge field of sunflowers to walk through.  CeCe smelled at least 50 of them!
They had horses to ride.  CeCe LOVES horses now so she was super excited to get to ride on one.
Bryce was brave and requested the biggest one there!
I saw this cow train advertised on the website and just knew it would be perfect for CeCe.  We got there and it was more of a thrill ride than toddler ride!  It was just a golf cart that pulled it but they went fast and whipped the kids around!  CeCe gave it one try and I think she enjoyed it (this picture was taken when the ride was over) but decided she didn't need to go a second time.
Bryce however could have stayed on all day if we had let him!  This kid loves a thrill ride!
There was a mini hay maze for the kids.  They enjoyed jumping and climbing on the hay more than walking around the maze though!

There was also a fun playground area with swings and sand and a slide.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

Bice's turn

After CeCe's bath we always ask her who's turn it is to read to her before bed.  Whoever gets to read also gets to cuddle, sing and lay her in bed so we always hope we are the chosen one that night!  For months it was Dada's turn every night, now it has been Mama's turn for a long time.  But two nights ago she started saying Bice's turn.  And she means it!  She wants Bryce to read her a story!  So sweet.  He is doing GREAT with his reading and her books are pretty simple so it really is perfect.  He is such a sweet big brother!  When he was done reading she asked him to sing her a song.  He decided to let us do that part of the nightime routine with her, but I'm so glad they can read together!

Trick or Treat Downtown

Friday night the businesses in Downtown Pensacola hosted a big trick or treat party for kids in costume.  We went last year and had fun so we decided to go again this year! Bryce is a clone tropper from Star Wars and CeCe is Raggedy Ann.

My sister and I both wore this costume when we were 2!  I bought the hat/wig and we already had the leggings but the dress, apron, and bloomers are from a doll my mom has that is about the size of a 2 year old! I hope Blakeley has a little girl one day to wear it.  So neat to have CeCe wear something that I wore way back when!
She LOVED it and shockingly kept the hat on for 90% of the night.  It was HOT and she was sweaty but never complained!
The clone trooper had an issue with his mask, he coudn't see through it at all!  Hopefully we have that fixed for tonight though.

CeCe looked so cute!!  And everyone commented on how cute she looked.  We are used to that of course :) but that night it got to Bryce.  Only one person commented on his costume and he was pretty upset by it.  He was excited about his costume and didn't understand why other people weren't too.
I told him if he dressed up like Raggedy Andy to match CeCe then they would both get lots of comments.  This is what he thought of that!

Pumpkins and a Virus

Bryce had a 3 day weekend this past weekend.  We had big plans to do fun fall things......until he got sick.  Really, really sick.  From Thursday night-Monday afternoon poor thing had off and on headaches (some so bad all he could do was roll around and cry), high fever (104.8 at one time), vomitting, and extreme sleepiness (but too uncomfortable to sleep good for long periods) It is the sickest I've seen him in a long time.  Anthony took him to the Dr. yesterday morning and she diagnosed a virus.  Nice.  But by 6pm last night his fever was gone and he had an appetite again.  We all got some much needed sleep last night and he's doing much better today. He stayed home from school today but will hopefully go back tomorrow.  We did make it to his soccer game (before we knew how bad this thing was going to be) and to a small pumpkin patch on Saturday.  The kids each picked out a small pumpkin and we chose a big family one that we will hopefully carve soon!

CeCe had a fondness for the warty ones

It's been a while!

This might be the longest I've gone in years with out a blog post!  We've been pretty busy.  School and soccer are still rocking along.  CeCe has had two yucky colds and one ear infection.  CeCe's last gymnastics class was last week.  She learned a lot from it and really enjoyed it.  Hopefully we will do another one soon.  My parents had a beach condo in Gulf Shores for almost 3 weeks in early Oct.  It was so great to be able to go over there each weekend and stay with them.  The first weekend Anthony and I left the kids with my parents and drove to Athen, GA for the MSU v. GA game.  The game was horrible but we enjoyed our weekend together.  The next weekend my Aunt Sandra and Blakeley, Hunter, Jude and Jasper were all at the beach condo too.  The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.  We took the opportunity to take family pictures.  Here are the kids being silly....notice who they are all looking at--Jude!  He is the 'cousin clown' for sure.  Such a fun kid!

Jasper is growing up so much.  He and CeCe had fun together.  CeCe tries to baby him.  Here she is feeding him breakfast and helping him drink his milk.  Things he does all by himself of course but she thought he needed her help!
 The big boys being boys!
My handsome boys
CeCe loved all the books Cappy brought. She and Papaw Ruff read this one at least 50 times!
